Afficher toutnoodle(445) soup(125) beef(85) broth(81) spicy(40) recommend(39) rapide(37) bowl(35) busy(34) fresh(32) huge(28) pulled(28)very fun & tasty experience! I went on a Sunday & pictured is the beef special served only on the weekends.
We ordered the Beef Dan Dan noodles & Vegetable Noodles. I had the Beef Dan Dan with the thinnest noodles, while my husband opted for the thicker number three noodles. We also enjoyed some edamame & cucumber salad. The Beef Dan Dan reminded me of Persian spaghetti but without the tomato sauce, which I absolutely loved! It had just a hint of broth, & I asked for it to be mild spicy-delicious! We both really enjoyed the edamame with the pickles; it was flavorful & satisfying. The service was quick, & the food was excellent. Overall, the high ratings reflect the restaurant's commitment to quality & service. Plus, the chairs were adorable & petite!
The place was busy, you can see the staff making the noodles. Service was fast. The beef broth was delicious but needs a bit more richness. Every order we got was really good & serving size was huge. Our only comment would be the spiciness, it was not as spicy as we expected, it lacks szechuan. Especially with the dan dan noodles.
Visit: June 2024 Long lineup, but worth the wait. Very good value for the price. The large was HUGE & I didnt expect it to be that big. The spice wasn't overpowering. The noodles, you can tell were definitely handmade, as there was a small variety in the consistency of the size of the noodles (no noodles were undercooked or anything from this, its also not a bad thing persay). I just wish there was maybe a bit more vegetables in it. I went form extremely hungry, to really stuffed by the end of it! The beef was thin, tender, & very beefy.
Finally made it inside the restaurant! After many failed attempts, due to long cues outside, we went on a Wednesday afternoon & got in right away. Noodles are great & the beef Noodle soup was excellent! Would like to come back but likely not during typical meal times.
This place is an amazing place to go if you want to find authentic or as close as authentic Lanzhou noodles. It is always delicious noodles are always fresh. Service is nice & fast. They constantly come & fill your water. They do not let you wait on them. Amazing place if you ever come to Montreal want want a great beef noodle definitely give this place a try
I got a medium special Lanzhou with #5 noodles. Serving was really hearty & delicious for the price. Lots of thick, chewy noodles & enough beef. Small place though, had to wait for a while for a table of 4.
Nice place. Have vegetarian ramen option. Their appetisers are very tasty. Must try the edamame & cucumber salad. Portion size is excellent. They have vegetarian & beef, pork broth. Do not have chicken broth. We took the small size bowl & was more than enough for one person. Great location right in Chinatown.
The service is so so even when it's not busy. The most important thing of Langzhou noodle soup is disappointing, it does NOT even taste like beef soup. The radish makes it even worse. The noodle itself is Ok, but nothing special besides its chewy due to its undercooked . & the bowl they serve me for noodle soup had a huge notch on the edge, lol. I won't go there again.
I've heard about this place from the internet & try to visit it. It was really good. The noodle is handmade & you can choose the type of the noodle you like. The broth is also good & the portion is big. I ordered the traditional beef noodle soup big size & it was bigger than I expected. Their chili is not as hot as I expected & their beef is chewy & tender. The place is a little bit small, but there's a lineup when I visited it. Be prepare to get in a lineup especially on the weekend at dinner hour. The lineup is worth for the food itself.
Portions are quite large, around $15-20 each DanDan & beef tender soup are great options
A seemingly landmark restaurant here in Montreal, Lan Zhou was a great stop while I was here in the city. Chinese food is quite expensive where I am from so I was really eager to give this place a try as it has some of the best reviews in the city. We were seated almost immediately upon arrival. I noticed that the menu was quite limited as well, not very many options but the few available were so mouth watering. I didn't know what to order but eventually ordered a combo #4 which came with a choice of salad, a hard boiled egg & the order of noodles with beef. Even though it was a bit dry, I enjoyed the meal a lot. A good enough portion with a slew of different ingredients mixed into the bowl made it very flavorful & filling. I was most satisfied with my purchase & our choice to eat here.
I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup combo with the salty boiled egg & seaweed potatoes (it didn't taste like potatoes in a good sense) salad. Everything tasted absolutely amazing & I couldn't help drinking most of the soup, including the chilly oil. I almost regretted it after pooping oil a few times after. Almost.
Such good noodles! I had size 6 traditional beef noodle soup, size small, no spice, takeaway. It tasted really good & although I wouldn't say there was zero spice, it was barely anything (which was what I wanted). The size small was very substantial & the noodles themselves were really really nice.
We saw the line down the block to get in & knew immediately we had to try this place. 100% worth the wait & hype. I got the veggie noodle soup with the wide noodles & my husband got the traditional beef noodle soup. We also got the edamame & cucumber salads. Yum yum yum. The broths were so flavorful & the handmade noodles were excellent. The salads which were a hearty portion, were a perfect compliment, with the edamame one being my favorite. Def get in line to come to this gem of a place. Super authentic & a must when in Montreal
We only tried this because we saw a long line on our way to somewhere else around 9 11AM. We came here for dinner & had to wait around 30 minutes to get seated - it was around 4:30ish but the line was still so long. I ordered the beef soup with the #2 type of noodle, spicy, medium size - it was a HUGE serving so if you have a small appetite I would recommend a small or you can divide the medium with someone else who has a small appetite. Go for large if you're with two other people. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. I love the soup & the I absolutely LOVED the beef. The service was fast as well. Come here when you're willing to wait. It's worth it. What I didn't appreciate though is when we had to pay, the woman was looking at us while we're doing the payment process - would be nice if we got a little privacy as it is sensitive information.
Service is poor & the waiters are very busy, but I appreciated the portion size of my beef noodle soup as well as the noodle texture.
I went to try their food with my boyfriend & my sister. By the time we got home, all of us felt awfully sick. We ordered the beef noodles, dan dan noodles, & the braised beef noodles, with edamame & the spicy marinated beef. The food was very oily & the beef was unpleasantly chewy. Also the marinated beef was too salty. The braised beef noodle soup had these big chunks of beef/fat that were hard to eat & most of it was just fat. We all ended up having headaches & felt very sick. I think some of the ingredients were not fresh. Also, the waitress stared at the machine when I wanted to pay, as if I was being forced to tip. Very unprofessional.
