When we first came across this noodle shop, there was a size able line at the entrance. The wait is around 30 minutes at 1pm to get inside. When you get inside, you can see the noodles being made, which is cool!

The seating inside is modern & sleek, giving a very cozy fleeting with the stone tiles & walls. With being very clean. Especially the bathroom. Even though seating is small, it is very comfortable. But I suggest big families come ahead of time to find a table.

I ordered the vegetable noodle soup, with edamame with preserved vegetable coming out first. Which I gotta say came out with very little persevered vegetable & more just edamame alone.

It took 20 min for food to come out. The presentation could've been a little better. But the soup broth was very flavorful! I would say though I ordered the small size soup. But the amount of noodles I got were so much! So if you have a light stomach be sure to order small or get ready to take some home!

The noodles were rich as well, but the soup lacked many vegetable or plant protein. But that's to be expected from a noodle specialty shop. I say if you're vegan or vegetarian expect a lot of soft tender noodles, & I mean a lot. Also for the vegetable soup, it comes with an egg. You can request to not have it.

Overall if you like noodles you'll like this place, but your expecting the soup to have tons of vegetables this isn't the place

Great noodle spot. My first time going. They are quick & efficient. The broth is really great. The beef tender. Price is reasonable for a small! Would return

Food is A+++, the rest not so much, service staff is brash & unpleasant, seating is so cramped that you end up forced to be part of the conversation happening at the table next to you (2 inches away), which ruins the experience for everyone involved, & you pay a fee for getting your food to go, which I've never seen anywhere (isn't avoiding food waste in everyone's interest?). We weren't even told there was a fee when asking for it, in which case we probably wouldn't have tried to save barely 1.5 cups of broth that we were taking with us just to avoid throwing it in the trash. Fitting as many people as possible inside while compromising comfort, being curt & borderline rude to polite customers, & charging a hidden fee for takeout all feel very scummy. Manages to leave a bad taste in your mouth after some exceptional food, a shame.

This place was recommended by a friend & we were not disappointed. Best noodles I've ever had & their broths are fantastic. I'll be back when I'm in Montreal again.

Great quality of noodles. But not so flavourful broth. They don't have any options for Chicken & they provide 1 option for vegetarian.

The place is very busy, but worth the wait. Getting to see the noodles being made is pretty cool. The flavours are excellent, the broth is rich & comforting, & the spiciness in the other dishes is just right. Everything comes together nicely in each bowl. A great spot for Chinese noodles!

We were lucky to get a table for 5 people! Resto not busy. We ordered 4 vegie noodle soups & one beef noodle soup. Portion was very generous. We enjoyed all soups. Veggie Broth not as rich as meat Broth but this is why we liked it. Simple & yet still delicious. We love trying diffrent soups.

My go-to place for noodles with friend. Their broth is hearty & their noodles have great texture & variety, the meat is also nice. Mind that the soup portions can be very large. The place is pretty popular, so you may need to queue at peak hours.

I've been to Nouilles de Lan Zhou a few times for lunch, & the food has been consistently delicious every visit.
The hand?pulled noodles are always fresh & springy, the broths are flavourful without being too heavy, & the portions are generous enough to feel satisfying. Even during busy lunch hours, the service is quick & efficient, & the dishes come out piping hot. For the quality you get, the prices are very reasonable, which makes it an easy place to return to whenever I'm in Chinatown. A dependable spot for a comforting, well?made bowl of noodles.

If you're a fan of fresh, hand-pulled noodles in a rich, aromatic broth, this Montreal spot is a must-try, nothing else quite compares. It's so popular that lines are common, but they move quickly & are absolutely worth the wait. My go-to order is the beef Lanzhou pulled #2 noodles paired with a flavourful cucumber salad. Solo diners take note: there's a dedicated counter section where you can usually snag a seat without waiting in line. Just walk passed the line (it's fine!). With its central location, fair prices, & great quality, this place ranks among Montréal's top eats imo.

The noodles here slap. Literally, you can see them stretching & slapping the hand pulled noodles through the window. I like the Lanzhou Beef Noodles spicy version. I think the broth could be better, it tastes a bit flat. But overall, it's good value to eat in & have a bowl of noodles, especially as the weather gets colder.

As a chinese, my standards might be a tad bit high, so I did not find the food particularly amazing, as the broth was a little lackluster in taste & the texture of the noodles were tough & uneven for my liking.

But by Montreal's standards of chinese food, this place is definitely worth the visit. The portion sizes are very generous, especially since we chose the largest possible option. The atmosphere was unique & interesting, the decorations felt quite authentic. It was also fun to watch the noodle chefs stretch the dough & cook the noodled by the entrance.

The broth needs to be improved. Also I ordered second thickness ??. The thickness of the noodles is like uneven. Some too thick some too thin, looks ridiculous in my bowl. The side dish is good.

I have tried many noodles in my life, never had anything so fresh, perfectly chewy with natural broth. Normally I always taste some kind of chemical in other places, I love this place. I wish they had a location in Toronto!

Overhyped noodles. They tasted flavorless & undercooked. The broth wasn't anything special either. Staff was friendly. There was a long line & the place was packed. The interior could use a good deep clean, there's cobwebs hanging off of fixtures above people's plates & inch thick dust.

I've been wanting to try Lan Zhou Noodles for almost a year but the line was always insane 😩
Finally made it, & I'd give it a solid 7.5/10 ✨ or in Google 3.5
The broth is super flavorful, noodles are on point (you can even choose your type 🍜).
The menu's small but prices are fair.
Got the small bowl & honestly… couldn't have finished a bigger one 😅
The staff dont speak French so much & the chair is bad

Best noodles in town. We have been coming here for years. There home made noodles & broth is to fall for.

Pretty good. Food portions were large & broth was not too salty. I wouldn't get the map xi noodles & they were too thin & hard to eat as they got soft & tangled up. Taste was great, & lots of noodles with the chili oil.

I wish we could give a higher rating. Especially since this is our second time back in Montreal ,
We were here last year from Boston, & we were in china town, we decided we would come back to try the fresh hand pulled noodles,

Today we stood in the line for 45 min, & were left feeling underwhelmed by the dishes & the choice.

Our table doesn't eat beef or pork, they don't have any chicken , so the veggie was the only option- the only real choice was the noodle thickness.

So this is just a lot of broth & a whole lot of noodles. Nothing by way of protein- with options such as tofu, seitan, fake meat, this just feels like such a let down.

& the veggies that were put were measly for the size of the bowl, 3 broccoli, 2 pieces of bok choi & few corn pieces.

The size is generous, but for water & noodles, I would say it is overcharged.

The broth, like others pointed out, is so mild & plain. It could be enjoyed if you like that but after enjoy hunan cuisine & Mala hot pot in Boston, we were lacking the flavors - there was only some chilli crisp & some vinegary sauce on the table. They wouldn't give us any soy sauce when we requested. They actually asked us to go down to the store (in their basement)to get the sauces we wanted.

I was amazed at that attitude.

I could have made the soup work with some flavoring, salt, some sauce, something. So that was a letdown.

We just sat there munching noodles & slurping on bland water the entire time.

For the wait time, lack of protein & for the flavor (or lack of it), it was a hard pass for us. Maybe the non-vegetarian folks have more luck at this place, I hope you guys do!

Because the noodles are fresh, & it needs a nice broth to shine in.

If you're coming to Boston, please try kungfu malatang in Brighton ! So many veggies & mushroom varieties- plus a fresh hunan chilly base makes for an amazing meal in the cold months.
Or any of the little q hot pot branches. They make an amazing pot of soup noodles

Service was decent. Atmosphere was okay. Food was good - great noodles, broth was okay. Nothing wowed me but I'd stop in again for a quick bite. Portion sizes were large & prices were reasonable.
