The food was excellent, huge portions. Nice to watch how the noodles were made at the feont of the house. Cucumber salad was spicy with nuts. I got a medium bowl & ate 1/4 of it. Very busy with 2 servers. Nowhere to stand while waiting & kept blocking wait staff. Cloths to wipe tables were left on a pile of menus & a few times dropped on the floor, then conveniently moved to abother location & not changed out. Didn't know we had to pay in the front & waited for our bill to arrive. We were told to get up because we had waited so long for the bill. Would i go again? Yes, but probably will not return to Montréal for a while.
It's a surprisingly smaller place. But you can see right through the kitchen. Ben outside you can watch them pull the noodles. Which is pretty cool. The spicy bow was one of the best ramens I've had in a while. Definitely a good place to go when visiting.
Don't go as a vegetarian. The vegetarian option is bland & not good. This place is best known for meat options lanzhou la mien is a spicy beef noodle speciality.
The noodles here slap. Literally, you can see them stretching & slapping the hand pulled noodles through the window. I like the Lanzhou Beef Noodles spicy version. I think the broth could be better, it tastes a bit flat. But overall, it's good value to eat in & have a bowl of noodles, especially as the weather gets colder.
Delicious noodles. Absolutely loved the black egg that came in the Dan Dan Noodles. No AC so hot on a warm day. You pay at the front. The spicy cucumber salad was delicious as well. Recommend getting the combo. No wait on a Monday evening!

We stumbled upon this joint. Located on top of a grocery, it's a very small spot with limited seating; worth the wait. The beef soup was flavourful, spicy, but not too salty. We ordered the cold beef with chilli sauce for appetizer; which was surprisingly really good. Cost for both items was less than $20, we will definitely come back.
Came here when I first got into Montreal since I was craving some noodle soup - this place certainly delivered! I ordered the spicy noodle soup, which I think was great on all fronts: noodles, broth, & beef were all excellent. While the shop is quite small, service is quite fast so you really aren't waiting around for long at all. If you're looking for a quick, no frills lunch/dinner in Chinatown, this is the place to do it.

Found this gem of a restaurant. The line was fairly long outside but it moves quickly. I tried the DanDan Noodles, it was delicious. I like it a little more spicy than it's served, fortunately there is a good sized jar of spicy chili paste on the table. Added a good amount of it, & the dish was perfect. Very happy to have eaten here.
The noodles here are delicious. I love watching the chef skillfully pull & shape the fresh noodles right in the kitchen & cook them directly. I chose a small combo size with noodles number 5, because it included 1 egg & 3 types of salad to choose from. It helped me eat just enough & not be too full. You can choose from non-spicy to very spicy from the waiter. The staff here are very enthusiastic in guiding you. The restaurant is located right in Chinatown, so it is very crowded & bustling. You will see a long line of people waiting for a seat. You should come earlier than lunch or dinner time to get a seat more easily.
Finding a great spot for dinner on a Monday in Montreal can be a challenge, but this restaurant proves to be a rare & welcome exception. A true hidden gem, especially for visitors, it offers a combination of fast, friendly service & consistently delicious food.
Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, & arrived quickly-a testament to the kitchen's efficiency without compromising quality. The standout dish? The dan dan noodles-perfectly balanced in flavor & texture. However, spice lovers take note: even if you request'very spicy,' the heat level remains relatively mild.
Overall, a fantastic find for a Monday night meal & well worth a visit any day of the week.
The scent of hot & sweet spices when you walk by, that's the spicy beef noodle soup. The medium size is already huge, as you can see in the picture. Stop reading this & go grab some!!!

If you're in the mood for a fun dining experience with tasty food, you absolutely need to check out Nouilles de Lan Zhou! One of the coolest things about this noodle shop is watching the chefs craft fresh noodles right in front of you-it's such a mesmerizing sight! The noodles are chewy, flavorful, & cooked to perfection. The menu is packed with a great variety, so there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Honestly, I've had the best hand-pulled noodles here! You can pick the size of your dish, whether you want small or large, the thickness of the noodles, & even how spicy you'd like the soup. The meat is super tender, & the rich beef broth is just mouthwatering! Plus, the portions are huge & the prices are really reasonable. The service is top-notch as well! You're in for a treat!
We ordered the Beef Dan Dan noodles & Vegetable Noodles. I had the Beef Dan Dan with the thinnest noodles, while my husband opted for the thicker number three noodles. We also enjoyed some edamame & cucumber salad. The Beef Dan Dan reminded me of Persian spaghetti but without the tomato sauce, which I absolutely loved! It had just a hint of broth, & I asked for it to be mild spicy-delicious! We both really enjoyed the edamame with the pickles; it was flavorful & satisfying. The service was quick, & the food was excellent. Overall, the high ratings reflect the restaurant's commitment to quality & service. Plus, the chairs were adorable & petite!
The place was busy, you can see the staff making the noodles. Service was fast. The beef broth was delicious but needs a bit more richness. Every order we got was really good & serving size was huge. Our only comment would be the spiciness, it was not as spicy as we expected, it lacks szechuan. Especially with the dan dan noodles.
Was charged for the salad which was brought by mistake 😩 & then replaced with Edamame. Also, the server spilt spicy vegetarian soup on my camera case. Never heard an apology. If you want ordinary noodles & bad service, you are welcome to this place.
