Celebrating my birthday dinner at Hiatus was an absolute pleasure! From the moment we stepped in, we were enchanted by the modern vintage atmosphere & the breathtaking 360 views of Montreal. It truly was love at first sight! The service surpassed all expectations. Our server went above & beyond, offering insightful recommendations & sharing details about the locally sourced ingredients used in our meal. Their dedication to quality & sustainability was truly commendable. For drinks, I savored the Penthouse Pearls, & it was an absolute delight. As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece. From the succulent pork ribs & aged duck to the divine Sticky toffee pudding, each bite was a culinary delight. My friend is already eager to return when they're in town again, which speaks volumes about the lasting impression this restaurant left on us. After our dinner, we ventured downstairs to Rose Orange, the restaurant & bar, where we enjoyed one more delicious cocktail while admiring the view once more. If you're seeking a memorable dining experience with breathtaking views, impeccable service, & mouthwatering cuisine, look no further than Hiatus. This restaurant truly has it all & more! Très très cher pour ce que c'est & surtout les portions. En gardant les mêmes portions les prix devraient être au minimum 20% moins chers. Un pavé de flétan d'environ 160gr pour 56$... avec taxes & pourboire c'est 75$ le plat! & tu as encore faim après! Même à Paris on ne paie pas ca avec le taux de change. & le service devrait être plus resseré. J'ai l'impression de faire affaire avec les serveurs des Enfants Terribles mais avec les prix du Toqué. À ce prix... demandez à vos clients un certain niveau de code vestimentaire. 3 jeunes au bar avec la casquette de baseball à l'envers... ca fait cher & ca fait douche! Je ne pense pas y retourner.

Overall it was a great experience! The restaurant & bar is beautiful & very nicely decorated. The view is just amazing & i recommend going around 6:30 during summer time to see the sunset during your dining experience. The food was amazing with every dish being well balanced & presented with finesse. The staff were very friendly & professional & attentive to every guest in the restaurant. Prices are on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. Amazing experience & I will be going back!
It was my first time meeting Cedric the bartender, & personally he would be the only reason why I would go back. The service is outstanding & personal- great quality in the hospitality industry.
The is one of the best places to put on your list whenever you're in Montreal. It's a little tricky to locate the restaurant so I have added extra information on the pictures. You will be treating yourself to a phenomenal night view of the city & some really great food & drinks. Do well to order the Newton's Law cocktail, you will thank me you did. Awesome service! Je remercie toute l'équipe de nous avoir fait vivre une expérience unique à Montréal. Je voudrais aussi souligner au maître d'art Barman Cédric situé au deuxième étage. Il est certain que je repasse revivre cette expérience il a su clairement définir que veut dire l'hospitalité!!! The service was found sadly pretentious. I made a reservation for the bar in the restaurant for my partner's birthday to share a cocktail before a show, & the host decided to downgrade us to the service area of the downstairs bar even though I had made a reservation & it was only 40% full. When I asked to move upstairs (where I had hoped us to celebrate) it was accommodated but were made to feel like we didn't belong & that he was doing us a favor. Apart from this we had a lovely time & will likely be back.
J'ai visité le nouveau bar à sushis & cocktails du 45e. Le service y est attentionné, les nigiris que j'ai mangés étaient parfaits. Une attention presque maladive est portée à chaque détail. Le cocktail était à la hauteur de ce que j'ai mangé. On y retourne.
Unfortunately my experience was not what I had hoped for. I came to have a coffee & a dessert with a friend during lunch. The purpose of my visit was to get a feel for the restaurant with the intention to book for a large group dinner. I had booked a table for 2 but the hostess said all of them were full. Even after showing my reservation that clearly said "table". I didn't make a big deal out of it & accepted the bar seats. Upon arriving I had asked the waiter for a coffee or tea & was told that they don't make coffees since the downstairs "cafe" area was closed. Followed by "the only thing we have available is our table d'hôte & cocktail menu". Again I didn't want to be complicated so I settled on cocktails. To the left of my party there was another client at the bar who was served a bit more graciously. She had been offered to sit in the lounge/couch area next to the bar since no tables were available, & they took her coat which we didn't get. We had ours tucked into the back of our bar stools. We were a party of 2 while the other client was only 1. After noticing she had been accommodated so well, I noticed she had been also served a cappuccino. This was really upsetting as I just wanted a simple americano. Understandably these issues can happen but I felt as though accommodating me wasn't important.

Wow. The staff here? Incredible. Right from arrival with smiling, happy people to greet us - to our amazing servers & bartenders. Everyone was simply awesome to be around. They kept us laughing & entertained ALL NIGHT LONG. 😍 The food being sublime also helped, not a single dish was unmemorable - the flavours were all stellar. HIGHLY recommend. Oh, & the views were spectacular. 🤘
Everything was great except for one specific point: maybe staff should try to upsell food less, because we felt they were trying to push food multiple times even though we were at the bar having drinks
Such an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the manager Alex & his staff were incredibly professional & facilitated such an amazing experience for me & my closest friends on my birthday. Originally, I was in place ville Marie to consult with Les Enfants Terribles about my birthday, but stumbled upon Hiatus. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted & treated with respect. Communication with staff to work out the details was efficient & headache free. The night of, staff was attentive & friendly to all my friends & myself. Throughout the night, staff stayed professional even as the drinking went on. After the party, all my friends reached out to me to say how amazing the night was. The bar also offers a breathtaking view on top of all this!
