Good food & great views. However, the prices are ridiculously high & small portions. The service also felt rushed: plates were cleared while we were still eating, which made us feel pressured to finish quickly. We were even asked the bill while still in conversation & not ready to leave. In the end, we were there for less than an hour despite spending a significant amount of money, which made the whole experience feel less enjoyable.
The experience at this restaurant was visually pleasant, but gastronomically it fell short of expectations.
The octopus, although paired with a well-flavored sauce, was not cooked properly. The bread & butter, presented as a standout specialty, felt simple & unremarkable. The alcoholic drink was acceptable, but did not justify its price.
The steak, which promised to be the highlight of the evening, did not meet expectations in either flavor or execution.
Without a doubt, the view is the restaurant's greatest asset, creating a lovely atmosphere. I would consider returning for the setting & perhaps a few drinks, but not for dinner. For the price, one expects a more refined & memorable culinary experience.
My friends & I booked the private room. We really enjoyed it! Spectacular view! Great service. Food was great except of the beef. Wish it could've been more tender. We will come back for sure.
Had dinner here last week & everything was exceptional: stunning views, beautiful atmosphere, truly delicious food, & above all, hospitable staff who don't rely on the view or the chef alone to impress you - their genuine hospitality, attention to detail, & warmth elevate the entire experience. Highly recommended.

Hiatus is one of those rare places that gets everything right - which is exactly why I keep going back.
The views are absolutely spectacular & instantly set the tone for a special evening. Food is - beautifully plated, flavorful, & consistently outstanding - & you already have an incredible experience.
But Jessica elevates it to another level. Her attention to detail is unmatched. She remembers preferences, makes thoughtful food suggestions, & guides the table through the menu in a way that feels personal & effortless. Every recommendation she's made has been spot-on - from standout dishes to perfect pacing of the meal. She anticipates needs before you even ask & makes you feel genuinely taken care of.
Enzo also provided an exceptional wine recommendation that paired flawlessly with our meal - knowledgeable & perfectly aligned with what we were looking for - exceptional!!
Hiatus delivers on food, atmosphere, & views - but it's the service, especially from Jessica, that makes it unforgettable. I'll continue to return - & I'll always ask for her.

My experience was perfect. The food was amazing, the cocktails unique, the service was so personable & the views impressive. I'm known for being picky but everything was absolutely on point.
Superb views of the city. Warm ambiance that sets the mood for an unforgettable evening. Every dish was excellent, the service was superior & we felt very pampered. Highly recommend.
Location is top. The view is really magical.
The food is uneven. Some dishes were very good like the duck dumplings or the Halibut, some other were just regular like the beef filet. They served some plates cold or barely warm.
Service is very very slow. Maybe they are understaffed. We had to call our waitress several times to take our order, to get bread etc …
Overall worth a try, mostly for the view.
The service was top-tier, & the food (at dinner) was solid for the price. I thoroughly enjoyed the cod with its accompanying potatoes, as well as the venison served with rice. That said, when comparing it to restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide, the food itself could have been stronger-especially given the price point. Still, it's hard to complain when the service is absolutely exceptional & the views are genuinely stunning. Overall, I'd recommend it to a friend.

Came here for a special occasion with my partner, overall it was a wonderful experience. You have to take two elevators, then a set of stairs to get up to the restaurant.
We were seated next to the window & the view was fantastic, even if it was a bit foggy outside. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also quite nice, though it did get a bit loud towards the end of the night.
The service was impeccable, all the staff that interacted with us throughout the evening were very polite & professional. They explained each dish as they brought them to our table. It was a nice touch that they fold your napkin when you step away from the table.
We weren't blown away by the food, some of it was good, some of it was somewhat forgettable. The portions aren't that big either, even the mains, but there is still a lot of the menu we did not try so your mileage may vary. The highlight of the evening was easily the octopus.

Ce fut une expérience absolument exceptionnelle du début à la fin. Nous étions un grand groupe & avons commandé des entrées & des plats principaux. La nourriture était délicieuse & savoureuse, un véritable régal pour les yeux & les papilles. Le service, dès notre arrivée au restaurant, était impeccable & notre serveuse s'est montrée particulièrement attentionnée. Quant à la vue, elle est tout simplement incomparable : c'est sans doute la plus belle de tout Montréal. L'agencement des sièges, l'éclairage, le décor & la musique d'ambiance étaient tout simplement phénoménaux. Pour les Montréalais & les visiteurs qui aiment aller aux restaurants ceci est un vrais joyau.

It truly was an outstanding experience from the beginning till the end. We went as a bigger group, had appetizers as well as main courses, the food was delicious, flavourful & every bite was a spectacle in itself. The service from the moment we sat foot into the restaurant was splendid & our waitress went above & beyond with her service. As for the view, nothing is comparable, since it's arguably the best one in all of Montreal. The seating, the lighting, the decor & the background music was phenomenal. 13/10 experience, a must try on my list now.
Our new Favourite Montreal Restaurant! My husband & I recently visited Hiatus twice for dinner & have now officially adopted it as our favourite eating establishment in Montreal. Hiatus' exceptional staff provided a exceptional dining experience (on both occasion) from beginning to end: Jessica our server is THE BEST, professional, knowledgeable, caring, & just a beautiful bundle of positive energy; Claude is awesome: professional, knowledgeable, helpful, & lights up the room with her presence, as well as Mia, Alexandre, & Enzo (I am sorry, I probably forgot some of the outstanding individuals that took such good care of us but they are all wonderful). The beverages were perfect & the food is so good, we booked our return visit before exiting the building. Did I mention & view & the ambiance? Thank you so much Hiatus, we can't wait to return (again & again).
