The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. Although its name and décor have changed over time, the dining experience has always stayed consistent. The Keg’s focus has been, and continues to be, on providing exceptional service and quality food in a comfortable atmosphere for its guests.
Quality, comfort and value are three key ingredients that make The Keg experience unlike any other. When it comes to steak, The Keg serves only the finest cuts, aged for tenderness and seasoned with a unique blend. Classic cocktails, delicious appetizers, succulent seafood, and an outstanding wine list round out its classic menu. The Keg’s friendly and knowledgeable staff creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy, relax and be themselves. Whether you’re getting together with friends or celebrating with family, you’ll always be welcomed with a smile.
Overall, The Keg is a solid choice for steak lovers, with many visits featuring flavorful, well cooked steaks, reliable sides, and attentive service in a warm, lively setting that suits celebrations as well as casual dinners; guests frequently praise the consistent quality, strong bar scene, and friendly staff, with several standout moments where staff went above and beyond. Some visits are affected by crowded rooms, noise, or slower service, and a few meals miss the mark on doneness or seasoning, leading to mixed experiences. Price can be a consideration, but many feel the value is fair for the steakhouse experience, and reservations are recommended at peak times.
We dine here several times a year - almost monthly . The steak is always perfectly cooked & seasoned, as are their sides . We love their fresh bread, prime rib, risotto, Brie appetizer, salads, chicken, sliders, calamari… their menu is fantastic. Great selection of wines & cocktails, bartenders are fantastic . The service is impeccable - all the waitstaff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly , passionate about food & they really add to the dining experience as much as you wish to interact with them. Professional & keen on providing excellent service. Every time we ask them for a suggestion they are right. If ever we don't like a dish, they replace it no problem.
They take allergies seriously & the manager comes to speak with guests about their allergies.
We recently had Nadia as our server & she was fantastic! The fact that many of the servers have been working here for over 5, some even 10 years, proves it's a well managed restaurant.
I love the ambiance here too - from the fireplace as you walk in, to the bar & the dining room. Classy, chic with warm & cozy lighting & music. Great for many occasions - date night, family celebrations, a business lunch or 5 à 7.
If I could give 10 stars to service, I would have.
We were a party of four wanting to enjoy a good steak with a good glass of wine.
We just walked out of Baton-Rouge because we sat for 30 minutes totally invisible to staff, not even being served a glass of water.
I called in & I was guaranteed at table at The Keg.
From the moment we walked in, the ladies at the reception were courteous & charming. We were accompanied to our table. When I asked where to hang our coats, the same lady came to our table, took our coats & checked them in the vestiaire, bringing back the checking coupons.
I believe our waiter was Dylan. He quickly introduced himself, offered us water, answered our questions about the wine choice & the meat cuts, made recommendations, in summary, excellent service.
There was the lady helping them like maybe a supervisor or something, when she noticed I loved their ginger sweet sauce that comes with the calamaries, she brought more to the table & got me extra to take home with me.
Needless to say our meal was excellent, meat cooked to perfection according to each one's desire.
The ambience was smart casual, family gatherings, friends reunions, some couple enjoying time in a tête-à-tête mood & the hockey game was on without being overwhelming.
We arrived at 5pm, left around 8:30pm & we didn't see time go by. We spent a very nice late afternoon/early Sunday evening.
Thank you The Keg!
Thank you all the staff members we interacted with tonight: you are gems.

Great atmosphere & quality food.
Good menu. Attentive wait staff . Free parking . Accessible for challenged people. Reservations recommended as this is a popular eatery . Dinner for two with wine $190 plus tax.
The Manager Pierre-Alexandre Themens is the best Manager that I have encountered in years. We had 6:00 reservation & unfortunately the had run out of prime rib. Pierre-Alexandre came over to our table & explained what had happened, he was very kind & comped us some wine. Even when we were leaving he was at the door & apologized again. We felt he went above & beyond to make our evening more enjoyable. Food was excellent even without the prime rib. Thank you
I want to explain why the service was only three stars at the start of the mail. We went into the lounge. We had to change tables because where we were sitting, there was a major cold draft, but they were very nice & found us a table in the dining room when we got there our server was Frederick. He was a professional. He was funny, but he has no control over the kitchen, & in my opinion the kitchen was understaffed & upside down so you can't blame the server. There was no reason to wait one hour for our meal but the guest service manager Marina took care of us & gave us a bottle of wine on the house & dessert so the way these two people handled, our meal will make me returned & tell everybody it turned out great so when I go now to the keg, for any reason, I will make sure that I will go on the night that Frederick & Marina will be working.
Missing personality. Very cut & dry steakhouse (pun intended). Went for a birthday, I don't like steak so picked the blackened chicken that was not blackened at all. It was like a boiled barely seasoned chicken breast. Not buttery or sweet from the'hot honey'. The fries were also subpar. Everyone else enjoyed their steak meals though! Just need to work on non steak entrées!! Calamari & soups were also good. Waiter was very professional yet fun, explained a lot about the wine pairing which was a great experience.
I went the other day with a friend, it had been a little while since I had been. They have a very decent happy hour with good prices on wine & drinks. We had the beef sliders from they're bar menu, we also had the tuna tartare. Both were excellent. The staff was also very welcoming & professional. I'd say probably one of the better places to grab some drinks & food in the west.

Fabulous service from our waiter Jeremy , very polish went above & beyond helping us celebrate my parents 56th Wedding Anniversary Food, wine & dessert was too notch!
The Keg Steakhouse offers a delightful dining experience with its juicy steaks, flavorful sides, & impeccable service. The ambiance is upscale yet inviting, perfect for both intimate dinners & special occasions. Highly recommend trying their signature steaks cooked to perfection, paired with a glass of fine wine from their extensive selection.
We were there for a birthday; the service was amazing , our waiter was great & did really well. I believe his name was Sanghee gave the best options for wine to go with our meals. Food was tasteful no complaints at all we loved our night there.

Disappointing experience on the part of management . We were celebrating a special birthday on Friday. We were in the middle of having our starters when the power went out. Few minutes later we were asked to pay full price for our wines & unfinished starters. No olive branch offered. No incentive to come back.
Pleasant & comfortable dining. Not loud, I could very easily understand our conversation. The bread was delicious & warm; the butter was well seasoned. The steaks came out at the requested temperature. The sides were warm & fresh. The tuna tartare with avocado was well seasoned, fresh, & quite good. The shrimp cocktail was delicious. Good wine & coffee. The creme brullee was also very good. Great dining experience!!!

Consistently great food & service at the Keg - & this location was no exception! Great Prime Rib & wine selection, along with yummy appetizers to share. Can't wait to return!
Went for dinner June 20th 2021 ordered the ribs they came burnt after 30 mins. Sent them back & the manager came to the table & said their ribs were always like that because they are put on the grill. Okay but who ever was watching the grill didn,t take them off. Manager came & said what do I want to do I said can you cook them without burning them. She rudely went away. My Husband was finsihed his steak & i received the ribs. The bill came & not even a discount for the problem. the girl manager came again & sais WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO RUDELY.. She grabbed the bill & took off my glass of wine. Sorry have been to the keg in laval & Toronto never have seen such under management.
My wife & I enjoyed every minute of our evening. The ambiance, food & service were impeccable. Don’t mind paying the SAQ x 3 wine prices when your wine is properly served & poured in a timely fashion. I must admit one of my pet peeves are restaurants that hit you with high ‘cork charge’... open the bottle, pour the first glass, then never return until you ask for the cheque.
Our waiter was attentive, friendly & polite. Really enjoyed our evening. Can’t wait to return.
The food served is unimaginative, standard "Pub" fair with upscale decor & unfortunately an upscale price. The service was pleasant. The bill for my wife & myself (BEFORE) tip was $94.28 which included two mains & an one espresso, no alcohol or dessert. My prime rib roast beef was the "classic" with the larger 16oz size portion ($37.00). The plate arrived with beef looking like it was hacked off the cow with a blunt knife - an uneven slice. In addition, there was 30% fat & the Keg's version of au jus which tastes like canned beef broth with red wine - real "classy". I've been to the Keg restaurants in Ontario & have enjoyed the food much more, perhaps the quality control has to be tightened.
