Review Summary

Bous is widely regarded as a standout destination in Montreal, offering an elevated and modern approach to authentic Persian cuisine. Guests frequently praise the restaurant for its high quality ingredients, flavorful charcoal grilled kebabs, and thoughtfully crafted dishes like the fesenjoon and tahchin. The atmosphere is consistently described as elegant, chic, and warm, providing a sophisticated backdrop that honors Iranian culture without feeling stereotypical. While most visitors find the service professional and the experience memorable, some note that the fine dining portion sizes and pricing may not align with expectations for those accustomed to traditional, larger-format Persian meals. Overall, the restaurant is celebrated as a beautiful gem perfect for special occasions, date nights, or introducing friends to high-end Persian hospitality.View restaurant profile

Persian cuisine is about to gain an exciting new destination in Montreal with the official opening of BOUS on May 20, in the heart of the Golden Square Mile.

Conceived as a contemporary expression of Iranian culture, BOUS embraces a refined and personal approach to Persian cuisine. Behind the project are five friends originally from Iran, now based in Montreal, who hope to introduce this cuisine as a form of cultural storytelling rather than simply another dining trend.

The minimalist interior, defined by warm tones and natural materials, draws inspiration from Persian architecture and art, with special attention given to soft lighting and carefully curated artworks selected by co-founder Saba Heravi.

In the kitchen, co-founder Hamed Masoumi offers an approach shaped by Iranian culinary traditions. Signature dishes include the Golden Tahchin, a layered saffron rice cake, Ghormeh Sabzi served with Kamouraska lamb shoulder, and a reinterpretation of Fesenjoon featuring duck confit.

Behind the bar, the cocktail program is led by Montreal mixologist Tao Zrafi, who blends Mediterranean influences with Persian flavours through floral, spiced, and citrus-forward creations.

With its desire to slow down the pace of everyday life and place sharing back at the heart of the dining experience, BOUS already promises to be one of Montreal's most intriguing openings this spring.
