Dawat is widely recognized as a premier destination for authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine in the West Island area. Patrons frequently praise the quality and freshness of the dishes, with the butter chicken, garlic naan, and mango lassi consistently highlighted as standout menu items. Known for generous portion sizes and competitive pricing, the restaurant has become a preferred choice for both regular takeout meals and professional catering events. Guests often describe the atmosphere as warm and welcoming, noting that the staff treats customers with kindness and genuine care, often going above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. While primarily a destination for pickup and delivery, the restaurant is celebrated for its dedication to consistent, high-quality food and professional service, making it a highly recommended staple for those craving home-style Indian flavors.
We love Dawat. We usually order palak paneer, Baingan Bharta, butter chicken, & naan. The dishes are delicious & of a higher quality than those at other restaurants we also enjoy. The naan is soft & has that fresh from the tandoor taste. We also appreciated that it is packaged to avoid leaks & to keep the naan warm & soft. The price is lower than other places we've ordered from. Dawat has become our go-to for indian take-out.
The food here is so good! Great portions & prices too. The chicken tikka roll is my favourite. I have also tried the spring rolls, garlic potatoes & their pink sauce, all super delicious. Will be a regular place for me.
I had an amazing experience here, & I especially want to thank Mr. Arjun for his outstanding customer service. He was incredibly kind, understanding, & considerate of my situation.
Unfortunately, I have allergies to many of the ingredients they use, which made it difficult for me to fully enjoy my meal. Even so, Mr. Arjun went above & beyond to help, & his genuine care made such a positive impression that it made me want to come back.
Although I wasn't able to finish my dish because of my allergies, my mom absolutely loved it & completely devoured the plate! The food was delicious, & the hospitality was even better.
Thank you, Mr. Arjun, for making us feel so welcome. Exceptional service like yours is hard to find, & it's the reason we'll gladly recommend this restaurant to others.
I've been coming here regularly with my friend, & this place never disappoints. The food is always fresh, delicious, & consistent. The mango lassi is honestly one of my favorites-it's the perfect drink to go with the meal.
A big shoutout to Arjun, the owner, who is always friendly & welcoming. He treats customers like family & makes the whole experience even better. This has become our go-to spot whenever we're craving good Indian food. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm a wedding planner & I had the pleasure of working with Arjun & his team who provided catering for a wedding event. Arjun was responsive accommodating & very easy to work with leading up to & on the day of the event. His kitchen & waitstaff team were excellent. The food was fresh & delicious! I highly recommend Dawat for any & all catering needs!
First time coming here; it's not a restaurant where you can eat, just for pick up & delivery. I ordered the Butter Chicken Combo which comes in a divided container with rice, potatoes, mixed salad, naan & the Butter Chicken. While I waited, I was offered a complimentary mango lassi which was quite nice. The people working there are very pleasant. I asked for the Butter Chicken to be very spicy & it was a little spicy. The food was quite good, the Butter Chicken was good, but not the same recipe I've had at a couple of other restaurants which I crave. The naan was also good & if you want potatoes, quite tasty although I wasn't hungry enough for them. I did enjoy the salad which was lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion & a simple dressing. I'll have to continue my search for the ultimate Butter Chicken, but I'm sure I'll be back to try some of their other dishes.
