The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. The quality of this restaurant is getting worse & worse. Such a shame, it used to be so good. But clearly, the kitchen staff need training on how to cook a steak. Terrible cooking & the service is extremely slow, even if the room is quiet. The waiter wasn't able to explain any drinks & kept bringing us dirty glasses & even brought the wrong beer. This is not what it used to be but the managers clearly are too busy elsewhereView more

This used to be a good place for a decent steak. Well, they've upped their game. I don't know when it happened, but they now give a Costco steak on the BBQ a run for its money. My favorite is the filet mignon with grilled veggies. The plate comes with an assortment of vegetables & mushrooms grilled or cooked to perfection. It's hard to choose the steak over the veggies for a win. Great atmosphere, & the service is tops. I'm always looking forward to my next visit.View more

This 5 star review doesn't mean it's the best steak house the city has to offer but likely the best in category. We were warmly received & seated at our booth. Our waiter Sanjay was friendly, efficient & a pro. He didn't miss a beat & had all the answers to the many questions regarding the menu & was completely capable of handling the ever changing orders with no errors. Atmosphere was nice & the place was super busy. I ordered the Keg classic with a 12 ounce sirloin & a wedge salad that was $60. I found the prices, although not cheap, good value as compared to their competition. It's nice to see a'corporate chain' properly running a restaurant. Not like the Grandio Group & how they gutted Moishes & Gibby's & run the horrific Cage aux Sport 😩.Wedge salad was what you'd expect although the one caveat was the less than fresh tasting bacon bits. The steak was perfectly prepared & delicious. All in all a much better experience than my last visit at The Keg in Laval which was not impressive.View more

We had a bit of a wait before being seated, which was frustrating at first, but the restaurant manager Marina made up for it & That small gesture went a long way! Once we were seated, the service was excellent-friendly, attentive, & efficient. The food was absolutely worth the wait-steaks were cooked perfectly, sides were flavorful, & everything was well-presented. Overall, a great dining experience, & we'd definitely come back to this location.

Réservation faite pour 17h45, nous avons eu une place assise a 18h10, lumière a notre table brûler, son de la musique trop fort (incapable d'entendre la personne a moins de 50cm de moi), pas de proposition de breuvage ou de remplissage de verre d'eaux, table trop petite pour 5personne, nourriture arrivé a la table a 19h30 steak Oscar (cuisson demandé medium & j'ai reçu bleu a saignant), assiette resté trop longtemps sur la passe( les assiettes étaient bouillante les sauce avaient commencer a figé, calamars fries n'était pas croustillant & le calamars était caoutchouc, prix trop élevé en rapport avec le service & la nourriture reçu, restaurant qui donne un impression de luxe du a ses prix d'assiettes & au décor tap l'oeil mais qui n'arrive pas a exécuté.View more

I had called at 15:14hrs to inquire if it would be possible to order a blue or rare piece of prime rib. I was assured, enthusiastically, that it would NOT be a problem. Unfortunately, the prime roast was only available starting at a medium; I was not a happy camper. I would have eaten somewhere else that had roast beef. However, the Keg is the Keg & my rib steak (Pittsburg style) was textbook...brought a tear to my eye! The salade, the side veggies, & twice baked potatoe were as perfect as could be. Added bonus was our Server, Sarah. Amazing customer service & articulate. Note: if you want a more intimate setting, perhaps the dining room would be more suitable. The bar area is a true round table pub/happy hour setting.View more

Missing personality. Very cut & dry steakhouse (pun intended). Went for a birthday, I don't like steak so picked the blackened chicken that was not blackened at all. It was like a boiled barely seasoned chicken breast. Not buttery or sweet from the'hot honey'. The fries were also subpar. Everyone else enjoyed their steak meals though! Just need to work on non steak entrées!! Calamari & soups were also good. Waiter was very professional yet fun, explained a lot about the wine pairing which was a great experience.View more

We were looking forward to a great New Year's Eve dinner at a nice restaurant, so we were willing to spend a bit more for a good experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. One steak arrived without the proper toppings & with a cold baked potato, while another was cooked well done instead of the requested rare. At $50 a steak, this is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, one of us had to wait 15 minutes after the others received their meals. As a steakhouse, we expected a higher standard of quality, & this experience did not meet those expectations. We were truly let down, especially considering the premium price.View more

The Keg is usually always a good consistent meal & it has been until my most recent visit. The food was underwhelming & didn't taste as good as it usually does. This was said by 4 people at the table & we had filet mignon, baseball steak, salmon, hamburger. The service is always quite strong which it was, but the mixed drinks also tasted watered down. Not sure if it was an off night, but we left in disappointment vs. usual expectations.View more

It's my first time eating a steak in a restaurant so my expectations were high, perhaps unrealistic. I ordered it medium. I was expecting more searing o.o I found it average. The sides (salad & potatoes) were good. It was for my birthday & they gave me a slice of cake, which is appreciated. Service & atmosphere were good no complaints. My partner & I went there this evening to celebrate our anniversary & we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious & our steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking. What stood out the most was the service. What was impressive was the team work amongst the waiters. As soon as we were seated we were greeted a waiter who said that our waitress was named Kelly & she would come to see us soon. Kelly was great! Attentive & answered all of our questions. When she was busy, her co-worker would step in & clear our plates or offer us more bread even if he had his own tables to attend to. You can see that they support each other when busy. Service like this makes a huge difference in the entire experience. At the end the gave us a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary which was very much appreciated. We will definitely go back again.View more

I do visit this location often. I love the wedge salad & the appetizers. It's a hit or miss when it comes to the cooking of the steak. On a table of 4-5, often, you'll have an either overcooked or undercooked steak. Regardless of that, they are always courteous, polite & quick to fix it & that's the reason I really like this place.View more

Disappointing evening at the Keg Pte Claire for my mother's birthday. Spent a few hundred bucks & left with mixed feelings. While the service & my steak was good, the rest was a bit disappointing. Ordered a caesar salad to start, it had barely any vinaigrette, nothing else but parmesan on it & most of the salad wasn't fresh. It's probably one of the worst caesar salad I've had, it's usually a pretty safe dish. My son had a plate of veggies with his kid meal. Th carrots were huge, he couldn't bite into it, I had to cut them again & the celeri was full of dirt from where it grew. Not impressed. I had the rib steak for the main which was really good but the side of veggies tasted nothing. All this to say that it wasn't a terrible experience but when paying a few hundred bucks for a meal you expect a certain quality in the food & it was simply not there. It was my first time at the Pte Claire location & not sure I will go back, had much better experience in Laval & Downtown Montreal. Not the type to complain at the restaurant or to leave reviews for a matter of fact but the fact that I woke up the next morning wondering if I should have brought the family elsewhere made me do it.View more
