Very good bbq. Perhaps a notch below the best in the U.S., but very good nevertheless. There is no bbq sauce on the table, but available on the side if you request it.
My friends & I have been going to Lattuca BBQ for almost 10 years now. Firstly the food is always top notch (the best brisket & beef rib you will ever eat) . John (Lattuca) is such a gracious host, always a friendly greeting with a big smile!! Yesterday was the first time we ordered the platter with 3 meats (Brisket, Chicken & Beef Rib w/ all 3 sides) it was more than enough food for the 4 of us (& we are big eaters) & what a bang for the buck, very reasonable for all the food we ate (& even had a bit of leftovers) The surprise of the meal was the chicken. Havn't had it very often in the past but last night WOW, so tender & juicy. As well the service was awsone!! We had Anis serving us & she was more than great!!
Can't say enough good things about Lattuca BBQ. Thank you for your hospitality John!!

The BBQ set menu is simple, & we went with the brisket, Côtes de Porc, & beef rib-everything was delicious! But I have to say, their signature brisket is absolutely next level! Crazy tender, crazy juicy, & smoked to perfection. Brisket champ for a reason! It was so good we even ordered extra brisket-totally satisfying! The place isn't very big, so I recommend making a reservation in advance.
Duuuuuuuuude, THIS is the spot. Hands down best bbq I've ever had in a restaurant. I wanted to ask the guy who made my plate to hold me about halfway through my meal. Straight up, this place was awesome. The only thing is, I wish they had merch. I would totally have bought my pops one of their aprons. I'll be in town for 5 days & will 1000% be going back. If the guy who made my plate reads this, if you need a visa to the USA, I would do some very very very wrong things for your meat sir.
Music level was not too loud. Food excellent ( even though the smoked beans were tepid). The meat is amazing! No seasonings on meat or table. Not what I would call bbq , no sauce on meat. Service perfect. My problem was the washroom, see pictures. Wouldn't go back unless this is solved!
Would you expect a BBQ joint in Montreal? I didn't, but the more I read the more I wanted to go. & what an awesome place! It's a cozy space just off the water with some great cow art & country music to add to the ambiance. The owner was there, & it was a pleasure to meet him & hear about his passion for BBQ (which we share, so easy conversation). He's got a great selection of whiskeys going, & the bartender, wow- she rocked some great cocktails (including some off-menu ones at request, after ingredients were verified in stock). I got the beef rib, brisket, & chicken (added at the bartender's suggestion) & they were all amazing. I hadn't had smoked beef rib before, & that was outstanding. I have had smoked chicken before, & it had been dry. John's wasn't- it was moist & smokey & delightful. If they're not swamped, it's a delightful crew to chat with. Don't miss!
Wow - I'm from Alberta & this place blows almost everything at home away. The owner of this place really cares about his craft. If you're looking for legit BBQ in Montreal, this is the place to visit. Incredible service from the moment we sat down, through the entire time we dined - wish I could give it more stars.

Lattuca serves legit BBQ. My brisket & beef rib were smoked to perfection, & the perfect consistency. I have not had BBQ this good outside of the southeast U.S., these folks don't play. If you're looking for Montreal style brisket there are a million places in town for that. Do not come here looking for that. Come here for slow & low, smoked, real BBQ. Staff was awesome too.
We took the sharing plater for five. The portions of meat were very generous & fed everyone. The price was fair for everything we got. It emulates a Texas BBQ style - they serve until they run out. Though service was working at a reduced capacity, everyone was lovely & bilingual. Would recommend!
Such a gem this place. Owner is passionate about his meat & has high standards. It's wonderful to enjoy food at a place that loves making food the way he does. Highly recommend it. *** we still LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Nothing like it & hands down best bbq in the world.

Vraiment excellent la viande fond dans la bouche avec un vrai goût de BBQ la brisquet super bon 🤤 la serveuse donne de bonnes explications bon service endroit propre je recommande à 100%
Pros: tender, fall apart barbecue. Rustic seating with paper towels napkins. Pleasant service accommodating both English & French. Food came out fast. Many styles of beer on tap from one brewery. Great music for the theme. Cons: fixed menu but no printed menu made it challenging to order. Side dishes came to the table cold. Meat was tender, but slightly under seasoned - no salt or BBQ sauce at the table, & no hot sauce.

We dined here on Saturday April 27, 2024 around 6PM. Had made a reservation since the website strongly suggested this. The restaurant is small & fills up fast. Located in the heart of Old Port, this small joint offers a simple menu of bbq meats & sides. There is only beef ribs, porc ribs, pulled pork, brisket & smoked chicken, served with your choice of mac & cheese, coleslaw & baked beans. There are no appetizers & no desserts - however there is a cocktail & drinks menu. I do find it odd that the food menu is not posted on the website, nor on their social media. I saw some outdated photos of the menu other customers posted. The only place to see a physical menu is on the outside of the restaurant itself, otherwise once seated, there is nothing printed & the server will be the one to talk through the options. My partner & I opted for the beef ribs (there is an extra $7 for this option), pork ribs & smoked chicken. The meats were all very tender but lacked flavor - as if there was not enough seasonong or sauce. We had sides of mac & cheese & coleslaw. The food was very good, but not amazind & expensive for around $40 a person to start with plus the surchage for beef ribs. Cocktails were around $17. Very pricy dinner, for this, I expected larger portions, I found the Texas bbq experience to be lacking despite the website claiming this is Texas style. They surely do not serve American sized portions. I am a slim female with a healthy appetite & was disappointed in the lack of food, especially for the sides. There are maybe 3 or 4 bites of coleslaw or mac & cheese in each serving, yet these are the cheapest foods I don't understand why they couldn't be more generous. The time it took to prepare the food & serve us was also puzzling. We arrived when the restaurant just opened & were among the first to order yet waited probably a good half hour or more before our food arrived. The meats are all cooked in advance & I suspect the sides were as well - as we overheard a server mentioning the food is smoked in St-Eustache which is North, outside the island of Montreal. There are no smokers on site at this restaurant. I am glad I tried this place as there is a shortage of great BBQ within Montreal - however due to the portion size, slow service, price & location I would not come back. Unfortunately there is no parking nearby so be ready to pay upwards of $25-$30 for a paid parking lot, or take public transit if you can.
(2024) Last year we visited Lattuca & it was so amazing we came back this year. It's still incredible, maybe even better somehow. We ordered the share plate & got 1 of everything (5 meats), chicken, beef rib, pork rib, brisket, pulled pork, & the beans, mac n cheese, & coleslaw. Everything is incredibly delicious & perfectly cooked. The service was stellar, & the atmosphere was great. Well probably be back in 2025. 🍖 (2023) One of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. The brisket, beef rib, pulled pork & chicken were incredible. The sides were also amazing. The beans were incredibly delicious & the coleslaw was refreshing. My wife says the Mac n Cheese was one of the best she's had. I'll be coming back if I'm ever in Montreal again!
