Lattuca Barbecue functions as a specialized smokehouse focused on authentic, slow-cooked American barbecue techniques. The menu features premium cuts of meat prepared with traditional dry rubs and finished over hardwood smoke to achieve a distinct depth of flavor. Signature offerings include tender beef brisket, succulent pulled pork, and glazed ribs served alongside house-made accompaniments. The preparation process prioritizes prolonged cooking durations that break down connective tissues to ensure optimal texture and moisture retention. Guests encounter a straightforward menu configuration centered on meat-forward plates and classic sides designed to complement the smoke-heavy profile of the main dishes. This establishment maintains a functional atmosphere suited for focused exploration of regional barbecue traditions and bold, savory flavor profiles derived from meticulous temperature control.

Reviews for Lattuca Barbecue are highly polarized, centering on a debate between the quality of the food and the unique, sometimes frustrating, dining format. Many patrons praise the restaurant for serving what they consider to be some of the best smoked meats in Montreal, frequently highlighting the exceptional tenderness and flavor of the brisket and beef ribs as superior to versions found in traditional American barbecue hubs. Conversely, significant criticism is directed at the lack of a printed menu, the reliance on verbal offerings, and a forced family-style sharing concept that some guests feel lacks transparency regarding pricing and individual choice. While many visitors enjoy the casual atmosphere and the personal touch provided by the owner and staff, others report inconsistent service, issues with cleanliness, temperature control of side dishes, and an overall experience that feels unorganized or overpriced for the portion sizes provided.
Unable to deliver drinks to our table in under 30 minutes. Ordered food at 7pm to pickup at 9pm after the Notre-Dame performance only to receive a text at 830 telling us that they would not be able to fulfill our order because of other reserved orders. This place had high reviews but failed miserably. I would not recommend a restaurant that can't even deliver on a slower weekday.
Made reservations as suggested for 630 on a Sunday. Wasn't necessary. Appreciated it was casual attire & they offered both indoor & outdoor seating. The menu is very limited, 3 meats, 3 sides, thats it. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection, tender & fall off the bone, yet lacked seasoning. Service was not good..& was not good for every table around us. The server brought us water promptly, unfortunately it was literally the tiniest cup imaginable, once the server took our order, the food arrived promptly via a food runner...yet the tables were served completely put of order...a table that sat well after we ordered, got food first & a table that was there way before us had to hunt their server down to get their food. The server never checked in on us, we had no napkins & empty water glasses our whole dining experience. Everyone that sat after us received the same poor quality of service & literally wanted to tell them to dine elsewhere. The atmosphere & location are great, but wouldn't recommend based mostly on service & lack of seasoning or sauce on the meat.
Oh we talk about this place, this place deserves to be talked about! We came in for a Friday night dinner, it became packed pretty quick around 5pm. We tried a mix of things including beef ribs & everything was perfect. It was a great meal with great service were happy we had the opportunity to stop in & have a great meal.
Overpriced for such laid back BBQ. They charge an extra $16 for a shared beef rib that is 80% fat & bone. The smoked pull pork & brisket were good, but not amazing. We had a shared plate with three meats & two sides & just had water to drink, & the bill came to $100 with tip.
Update; we went to latucca bbq. Had exact same as before the beef rib, brisket, mac & cheese & beans. First off the brisket was so soft & packed with flavor. Beef rib was the same, juicy soft & tasty. Mac & cheese was a bit better but still mid. The second picture is at the restaurant
Got ours delivered. Hadd brisket, beef rib, beans, mac & cheese.
The brisket was soft & tender & was deadly. The beef rib had lots of meat, juicy, & tasty. Beans were good too but the mac & cheese was mid.
