The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. EDIT BELOW!! The food was very good & the weiter was extremely kind & helpful since it was my first time at this restaurant, however my reservation was for 8pm & we were only sat at 8:25 & I had to go up & ask for an update after standing there for 15 minutes not knowing what to do. I chose this place for my anniversary dinner & though it ended well with good food it made it less enjoyable standing around for 25 minutes. EDIT: while my initial experience was subpar the staff at the keg did well above what was expected to make sure my second time (on new years eve for a birthday celebration) was absolutely amazing. I had never been to a resterant where the staff took action to fix any past issues as well as this one did, I could actually tell that they cared for our dining experience & weither we left satisfied, 100% will be coming here for every future event or date night from here on.View more

The Keg is usually always a good consistent meal & it has been until my most recent visit. The food was underwhelming & didn't taste as good as it usually does. This was said by 4 people at the table & we had filet mignon, baseball steak, salmon, hamburger. The service is always quite strong which it was, but the mixed drinks also tasted watered down. Not sure if it was an off night, but we left in disappointment vs. usual expectations.View more

It's my first time eating a steak in a restaurant so my expectations were high, perhaps unrealistic. I ordered it medium. I was expecting more searing o.o I found it average. The sides (salad & potatoes) were good. It was for my birthday & they gave me a slice of cake, which is appreciated. Service & atmosphere were good no complaints. Amazing Food! The lobby & bar side were quite noisy. The dining room was less noisy, but the lighting could have been more intimate. I Our reservation for 2 was a 20 minute wait, as they seated someone else at our table. No worries, they did provide free appetizers for the inconvenience. It was our anniversary & I suppose thinking on it now, they did have that info & still gave the table away. Again they were very polite & apologetic, but it will be a footnote of a 15th anniversary. The GRUYÈRE MUSHROOM DIP was truly amazing! So delicious. The KEG CAESAR & ICEBERG WEDGE salad with blue cheese dressing were very tasty. The main event... The Keg Classic 10oz FILET MIGNON & 12oz NEW YORK STRIPLOIN were mouth watering delicious. Just close your eyes & take in the melt in your mouth, delicately seasoned aged beef. MmmmMmmmmm. The service at our table was impeccable!! Maria is so wonderful. My partner & I went there this evening to celebrate our anniversary & we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious & our steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking. What stood out the most was the service. What was impressive was the team work amongst the waiters. As soon as we were seated we were greeted a waiter who said that our waitress was named Kelly & she would come to see us soon. Kelly was great! Attentive & answered all of our questions. When she was busy, her co-worker would step in & clear our plates or offer us more bread even if he had his own tables to attend to. You can see that they support each other when busy. Service like this makes a huge difference in the entire experience. At the end the gave us a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary which was very much appreciated. I went the other day with a friend, it had been a little while since I had been. They have a very decent happy hour with good prices on wine & drinks. We had the beef sliders from they're bar menu, we also had the tuna tartare. Both were excellent. The staff was also very welcoming & professional. I'd say probably one of the better places to grab some drinks & food in the west.View more
