The Keg Steakhouse + Bar opened the doors of its first restaurant in 1971 in Vancouver. Since then, The Keg has expanded across Canada and the US to include over 100 locations. Although its name and décor have changed over time, the dining experience has always stayed consistent. The Keg’s focus has been, and continues to be, on providing exceptional service and quality food in a comfortable atmosphere for its guests.
Quality, comfort and value are three key ingredients that make The Keg experience unlike any other. When it comes to steak, The Keg serves only the finest cuts, aged for tenderness and seasoned with a unique blend. Classic cocktails, delicious appetizers, succulent seafood, and an outstanding wine list round out its classic menu. The Keg’s friendly and knowledgeable staff creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy, relax and be themselves. Whether you’re getting together with friends or celebrating with family, you’ll always be welcomed with a smile.
Overall, The Keg is a solid choice for steak lovers, with many visits featuring flavorful, well cooked steaks, reliable sides, and attentive service in a warm, lively setting that suits celebrations as well as casual dinners; guests frequently praise the consistent quality, strong bar scene, and friendly staff, with several standout moments where staff went above and beyond. Some visits are affected by crowded rooms, noise, or slower service, and a few meals miss the mark on doneness or seasoning, leading to mixed experiences. Price can be a consideration, but many feel the value is fair for the steakhouse experience, and reservations are recommended at peak times.
I LOVED the pistachio salmon! Literally made me go home & attempt it...i failed lol i will have to go back just so i can have more of it! We did go on a busy night so i did see our server running around (she was doing a great job however) was a bit of a wait to get the cheque once we were done but because the food & everything was great we really didnt mind at all we were just enjoying a night out. Overall its exactly as you want a steakhouse to be! Very clean professional servers are kind & food is delicious
We had an amazing evening at the Keg Fairview last night. Our waiter, Eric, served us so well. He was very attentive & made sure we always had what we needed. We had such a great time that we stayed very late, by far the last table there, yet he did not give even a hint of pressure to leave, not did any of the staff. The food was absolutely amazing, as were the drinks. The atmosphere was chic, cozy, & elegant. A great overall experience.

I've been going to the Keg for years & the quality has always been great. Their service is always exceptional as any issues, it was resolved. This was my first time in this location & everything was great. What stood out for me during this visit is our server Fadi, he was awesome! Give this guy a raise!
The food is delicious & priced reasonably for a steakhouse, just like the one at Place Ville Marie. Great atmosphere as well. Due to the location, it feels more family friendly. Service was superb & our waiter had a great sense of humor & gave us really helpful suggestions. I would definitely come back to eat here!
It was our first time at your restaurant. From the hostess to the wait staff, our experience was perfect!! We loved the dim lights & easy listening atmosphere. Our food was top notch!!! Our waiter, Marty & his trainee, Matthew, were more attentive than we have experienced in any other restaurant. I let Marty know that I had severe allergies & before we knew it your manager, Chris, came to allay any concerns I had. Truly impressive!!! The complimentary birthday cake for my brother was a very unexpected pleasure. We plan to dine again at your fine establishment. 10 thumbs up! Peter & Brenda Bamatte
Unfortunately worst experience I've ever had at the keg. I come here with a certain standard & expectation as I have visited many locations of the keg throughout the years, but this time really disappointed me. Most of our food was so blehhh! It looked & tasted frozen or microwaved. Service was very transactional, no care or personality. Lastly the atmosphere on the terrasse was very low class....felt more like a local bar. Rowdy customers & staff not serious at all. Usually the highlight of going to the keg for me is getting the billy miner pie for dessert, but we were so turned off that by the end of it we just wanted to get out of there. Overall, this will not stray me away from the keg in general, but I will never return to this location. I wish we went somewhere else :(
I recently visited The Keg after a two-year hiatus. While it used to be consistently good, this time I found the food rather lackluster. The appetizer salad was disappointingly small, & the steaks were just average, earning a 3.5 out of 5. Although The Keg is less expensive than other high-end steakhouses, this visit made it clear why
Long wait to get seated without reservation of 45 min. Food was great & service but had to wait a long time for main meal to get delivered. They did bring free birthday cake for my daughter.
I have always heard so much about the Keg. I decided to go last month, on a Friday night. I don't know if it was an off night, but I was very disappointed. I ordered the filet mignonette, medium rare. It came with backed potatoes & 1 carrot. The meat was tasteless & the potatoes were pasty. Th service was fine but it was very loud. All in all it was a very expensive meal ($120.) I have had much better elsewhere. For a specialty steakhouse, not worth the money in my experience.
