My wife & I were just looking for a pre-dinner snack & some drinks, & this place was perfect. Nice wine list & good cocktails. Friendly & efficient service. Comfy atmosphere. But the reason for the review goes to the chef, we ONLY sampled the mushroom Neptune & French onion soup (& bread) but were very impressed. Best French onion soup I've ever had, & the mushroom dish was unique & very tasty. We already have our 3 nights of brunches & dinners reserved, but we may be making a substitution after this!
I rarely gush about a steak restaurant, but the Keg really nailed it. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Service was top notch.

On a cold winter evening, strolling through picturesque Old Montreal, my beloved & I decided to pop into The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal at 25 Rue Saint-Paul E. The atmosphere of this place instantly enveloped us in warmth & coziness. Dimmed lights, stylish interior, the feeling of a true traditional bar - all of this created a unique ambiance.
We decided to warm up by ordering a couple of signature cocktails, & they were simply superb! But the real salvation from the winter chill was their signature soups. I enjoyed the rich & flavorful lobster bisque, while my companion preferred the classic French onion soup, which was also beyond praise.
At The Keg Steakhouse + Bar, you can not only enjoy excellent drinks but also sample dishes from their restaurant menu. This undoubtedly adds a special charm to the establishment. The service was top-notch; the waiter was attentive & friendly.
Overall, the evening was simply wonderful! The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal is the perfect place for those who want to spend time in a cozy atmosphere, enjoying delicious drinks & food.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. If you're lucky, you'll have William at the bar. Super friendly, attentive & has the skills to make some incredible cocktails. Try the whiskey sour with the Rabbit hole whiskey.
Always good never disappoints. Nice in the summer with the outdoor patio. Cheaper than Gibbys & the View Port. It a great alternative. Good night life nice place to hangout at for dinner & drinks with friends. Good vibe
Love this place but depends on when you go. Sometimes if you are a couple you need to wave down your waiter if they also have bigger groups. In general all wait staff are pretty friendly & will pass on any requests. Easy to get reservations.
The BEST way to start our Montreal adventure! My husband & I just moved to Montreal & decided to have our first dinner at The Keg. Not only is it next door to where we are staying but it is always a great meal at any location across Canada. This venue is beautiful with dark woods, high ceilings, dim lighting, & very warm & cozy. From the moment we stepped in, it was a great experience. Friendly greeting at the door, our lovely waitress, Alex, & even a manager came to check in with us. The food & drinks never miss. Each dish was delicious, every last bite. Adding to our great experience was Alex, our waitress, who was super sweet & friendly, very professional, & prompt with her care with never an empty water glass. She really made us feel welcome. This place is a staple in Canada & this one is not to be missed!
The Keg was easily the best meal my group had on our weekend in Montreal. The four of us all got steaks & a couple cocktails. Between us we had a prime rib, a top sirloin, & 2 filet mignon. They were all top quality & well prepared. One of our group had a food allergy. The manager came to our table to assure us of the precautions the kitchen was taking to ensure the food was safe for her allergy. The service was great. Prompt, friendly, & attentive the entire time. The atmosphere in the lounge was relaxed but upscale. Overall wonderful experience!

Great food but most of all, Antoine, our waiter was amazing! Definitely made the experience of the keg old port a wonderful one. He is very attentive & has such a kind demeanour, always checking on us when he can.
I've been coming to the Keg for years. Old Port is not my regular spot, but I recognized the server who served me maybe 8 years ago. His name is Mark, & he is highly polite & professional & very good at his job. My girlfriend & I were celebrating our birthdays with a steak supper after a spa date, & as always The Keg is awesome! cheers
This is my go-to steakhouse! The quality is consistently top-notch every time we visit. Their steaks are perfectly tender & flavorful, without the need for unnecessary extras. The drinks are equally impressive, & as for the staff, their politeness & respectful demeanor speak for themselves.
Vraiment un excellent restaurant! Nourriture savoureuse & service impeccable. Yentl, notre serveur a été très attentif à nos besoins & d'une très grande gentillesse. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant, ça mérite le détour. Nous avons été conquis mon conjoint & moi.
Me gustó mucho el corte qué pedi, los acompanamientos me resultaron muy buenos, el pan y la mantequilla igual eran muy buenos, mi único pero fue un pudding qué estaba por temporada, a mi parecer no aporta nada a la comida, el servicio del mesero se me hizo bueno, pero a mi parecer no estaba atento a la mesa a pesar de que eramos pocas personas en el restaurante.
