Unfortunately, several service faux-pas then ruined our anniversary night bit by bit. First, our waitress forgot that we had ordered starters, so the main & the wine we ordered with it, came much earlier as expected & didn't allow us really to finish our first drink in peace. The food, tough being tasty, got cold within a few minutes, so we had to eat half of our (expensive) dish cold, with no waiter in sight to ask for a possible reheat. The same issue occured as we wanted to order the bill, it took 15mins until I got up to find somebody to order it. Even if we wanted, we couldnt have ordered another drink without waiting for another 20-30mins it seemd. What started of as a lovely night unfortunately turned into a disappointing evening & in the end being way too expensive for what it was.
The staff over The Keg Steakhouse made our trip to Montreal. Over the new year my Girlfriend & I went for Dinner & we found ourselves back for drinks & food three nights in a row.
A very warm & special shoutout to Greg who made our experience in Montreal an unforgettable one. We wish we could go back sooner! We didn't forget about Dominic!

We have gone to the Keg Old Port quite a few times, this time was not as good as previous visits.
While the atmosphere even on the bar side is great; & the service attentive & friendly, the food fell a little short this time.
The prime rib roast was a little too rare & the yorkshire pudding overcooked. (In all fairness, they took it off the bill, because it was obvious.)
The New York Peppersteak was delicious as always & cooked to perfection. Two thumbs up!
We picked a few seasonal drinks & the mulled wine was well spiced, but missing the tanginess of a cheap wine (I know, that's a strange complaint)& was not hot enough when served; & the new smokey old fashioned is just okay, & not what you would expect of an old fashioned what so ever.
Despite this it was a pleasant evening (because after all the drinks were what we chose & nobody's fault, that we didn't like them that much), & we will go back choosing our usual, which never disappoints.
We passed by by coincidence. Got a quiet table at the window.
We were tired but the lady who served us really lifted us up.
We had a main course, dessert & some drinks. All tastefully & nicely presented.
I got the teriyaki sirloin steak & it was great, very juicy. Got a dirty martini to drink & it was the perfect amount of brine.
We had a birthday celebration here & we had a lovely time. The staff was super nice & attentive. The location is great & the vibe is excellent as you are in the heart of Old Montreal. Everything that we ordered came out perfectly cooked & seasoned & the drinks were spot on even tho we ordered something that was not on the menu. Overall 10/10 would definitely go back!
Chill vibe & great service. The staff was super friendly & had awesome food & drink recs. Everything we tried was tasty. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Montreal.
Sat in the lounge area. It's a lot more casual but uses the same delicious menu. I had a NY strip & they cooked it perfectly to medium rare. Mixed drinks are done well. Not half pours but a full 2oz & made well.
Service was good. Checked on us but not constantly hovering.
Popped in here after reading a couple reviews, & was very happy we did. My wife & I were just looking for a pre-dinner snack & some drinks, & this place was perfect. Nice wine list & good cocktails. Friendly & efficient service. Comfy atmosphere. But the reason for the review goes to the chef, we ONLY sampled the mushroom Neptune & French onion soup (& bread) but were very impressed. Best French onion soup I've ever had, & the mushroom dish was unique & very tasty. We already have our 3 nights of brunches & dinners reserved, but we may be making a substitution after this!
On a cold winter evening, strolling through picturesque Old Montreal, my beloved & I decided to pop into The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal at 25 Rue Saint-Paul E. The atmosphere of this place instantly enveloped us in warmth & coziness. Dimmed lights, stylish interior, the feeling of a true traditional bar - all of this created a unique ambiance.
We decided to warm up by ordering a couple of signature cocktails, & they were simply superb! But the real salvation from the winter chill was their signature soups. I enjoyed the rich & flavorful lobster bisque, while my companion preferred the classic French onion soup, which was also beyond praise.
At The Keg Steakhouse + Bar, you can not only enjoy excellent drinks but also sample dishes from their restaurant menu. This undoubtedly adds a special charm to the establishment. The service was top-notch; the waiter was attentive & friendly.
Overall, the evening was simply wonderful! The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal is the perfect place for those who want to spend time in a cozy atmosphere, enjoying delicious drinks & food.

Always good never disappoints. Nice in the summer with the outdoor patio. Cheaper than Gibbys & the View Port. It a great alternative. Good night life nice place to hangout at for dinner & drinks with friends. Good vibe
The BEST way to start our Montreal adventure! My husband & I just moved to Montreal & decided to have our first dinner at The Keg. Not only is it next door to where we are staying but it is always a great meal at any location across Canada. This venue is beautiful with dark woods, high ceilings, dim lighting, & very warm & cozy. From the moment we stepped in, it was a great experience. Friendly greeting at the door, our lovely waitress, Alex, & even a manager came to check in with us. The food & drinks never miss. Each dish was delicious, every last bite. Adding to our great experience was Alex, our waitress, who was super sweet & friendly, very professional, & prompt with her care with never an empty water glass. She really made us feel welcome. This place is a staple in Canada & this one is not to be missed!
This is my go-to steakhouse! The quality is consistently top-notch every time we visit. Their steaks are perfectly tender & flavorful, without the need for unnecessary extras. The drinks are equally impressive, & as for the staff, their politeness & respectful demeanor speak for themselves.
Service was not very attentive. I could have used another drink but no one came back to check. French onion soup was fantastic.

We loved this restaurant! Best meal we've had in the last week!! Steak, salmon, & shrimp. Yum yum! We also had the Miner dessert. Fantastic drinks & fantastic service. Just a delightful evening!
Great location, great ambience, great service & great food. Located in one of the best streets in Montreal for drinks & food, the place is really big with seats inside & outside during summer. Love their Prime rib & it comes with lots of sides, the twice baked potato is my suggestion, even the salad is a treat. There is seafood available if you want to mix it up, also a great option. Good wines & beers too. Definitely on the expensive side depending on what is ordered but worth it.
We loved the restaurant & would absolutely go again.. All the food had good flavor ..from the butter, veggies, steaks...desserts..& my drink was delicious too
