Old port Montreal atmosphere for sure. No surprise, food was perfect & service excellent. For anyone with allergies they do pay special attention & was impressed with options.
Edit March 2024: We came back & this time The Keg stood up to their standards. They do serve beets as a standatd side for steak but at least they tell you in advance now. From easy booking, to attentive service & excellent meal, our family had a great time! Thank you! Dissapointed! For our 15th anniversary, it used to be our "go to" place, & we were always beyong satisfied. Sadly this year: our waiter was polite but very rushed, running away while we were trying to ask for something, kid's burger was miserable & therefore not eaten, lobster bisque painfully salty, teriyaki steak a burnt shoesole (asked for medium), & overal the food quality went down to cafeteria level. Very sad, we are not coming back.
Food was excellent, atmosphere was excellent...the service was great until it was time to pay. Why? Because when the server gave me the pay machine, it was already set on the « tip » page as if the server was EXPECTING a tip...that's a huge "faut pas" in the service industry. « Great service » requires that you do not ask for tip (subjectively or directly), you let the client decide. So when it's time to pay, enter the amount of the bill, then give the pay machine to the client while it is still on the « amount to pay » page from which the client can confirm that the right amount was entered by the server, then the client will proceed himself/herself to the « tip » page. It's very disappointing coming from such a fine restaurant, renowned for their steak & service. Hopefully this trend stops or our group will not eat at this location again. Sincerely.
La cuisson du filet mignon était excellente, la variété de la poêlé de légumes très intéressante. Un service attentionné & une ambiance feutrée avec un volume pour la musique bien dosé. L'ensemble de ces éléments réunis ont sût me convaincre d'y retourner.
Les légumes étaient bien assaisonnés, viande bonne cuisson, accompagnement excellent, le vin recommandé par la serveuse était bon en bouche, très belle ambiance.
Except for the lady who served us at the bar while we were waiting for our table, everything was excellent. The service, the ambiance & the food. I strongly recommend this place.

I would rate this a 10 if I could. Exceptional service, courtesy from the server all the way to the general manager. I have a gluten sensitivity (consuming gluten makes me ill), & the server as well as the general manager took my comcerns very seriously. Ensuring my meal would be gluten free with a zero chance of cross contamination. E X C E P T I O N A L. I was served my meal by the GM himself which was so appreciated. Come here, bring your friends, bring your family, eat, drink & be merry. You will not be disappointed. Will be returning! Thank you!
