Amazing food & presentation. Sommelier & the wine selection top notch. Two things that keep me from all 5 stars.

One, coordination between staff sometimes misses a step. So many staff & they are constantly dashing about. & it frankly detracts from the premium experience at times.

Two, a couple of the presentations cross into hokey. Don't need you to haul out a table that requires two men to carry...with a 30 cm log & a brazier to cook the Kobe beef tableside. Just...no. 🙄

Celebrate my 40th Birthday this weekend with my sisters & mom & dinner was splendid! The food was truly delicious & the presentation so visually memorable we'll be talking about it for ages! The portion sizes are also very good especially the shared plates. A lot of places with several course menus it's the itty bitty portions & bites. This was a nice mix of solid portions & tasty bites to keep your palate excited! The only negatives I will say are the service seemed a little disjointed. The moment we sat down we were give some delicious amuse-bouches, the service was quick & on-point, however we didn't seem to have a small fork to pick up the little tasters presented to us so we were expected to use our fingers which I found a little od (they only had a little knife & large spoon on the table). Some of the plates we were given very clear instructions to wait until they brought other elements to complete it etc, & then others they left on the table & we were confused if we were to wait or serve ourselves. It was a bit confusing also because they didn't leave any cutlery to serve the shared meals. Once we stopped ordering alcohol the service then really diminished which is always someone that I don't really appreciate a customer. We had each had 2 glasses of wine each, which I think is very reasonable & fair, but it didn't seem that way to them. The other thing was a little something special was supposed to be done in recognition of the birthday & they confirmed that 3 or more times & it never happened. That said, super AMAZING experience, but I will agree with some of the other reviews that they lean on their Michelin star.

I had a fantastic experience here. It was my birthday & I did the tasting menu. They made sure my wine pairing glasses were well topped up for my birthday & the staff was very friendly & even gave me a birthday treat at the end that wasn't on the menu. The tasting menu was such an experience. The flavors, colors, textures. It was incredible. 10/10 worth it. At the end they let me into the kitchen to show me how things were done. I have nothing but good things to say about all the kitchen & restaurant staff, & the food!

A gastronomical delight from beginning to end, with a passionate team eager to share their knowledge of food & wine, elevating the entire experience. Each course felt thoughtfully distinct-creative in composition, yet grounded in exceptional quality ingredients. What truly set the evening apart was the generosity of the team, welcoming us into the kitchen to gain a deeper appreciation for the care, precision, & dedication behind every plate. Ten beautifully executed courses paired with excellent wines made for a seamless & memorable progression-take the time to savour this experience, as it is one worth lingering over.

It was an incredibly unique dining experience, filled with thoughtful touches throughout the evening. We were surprised & delighted on many occasions, which made the night truly unforgettable. What I appreciated most was how knowledgeable the servers & sommelier were when presenting each dish & wine pairing. Their passion for what they do was very clear. We also loved being invited into the kitchen to see the action up close. Thank you for such a wonderful evening, we will certainly be back.

Hi my only disappointment is not being explained properly about the wine pairing how much it would cost for 1 person & the size served for kobe beef vs other tables but all in all 5 star experience

I went for New Years Eve & it was a spectacular dinner. I had the full menu gastronomique as well as a special New Years wine pairing. Everything was perfect. The staff was efficient & friendly. The sommelier was both friendly & very knowledgeable. The food had the right amount of theater without seeming cliche & also maintaining the excellence of each dish. Too many different dishes to go into detail here but highlights include lobster tail, Kobe beef & a wonderful oyster dish. Nice touch was that they give you cards that provide the backstory for each dish, I found it very helpful as I normally miss part of what the server says when presenting. Definitely an experience restaurant that I would recommend when you are in Montreal.

I'll go straight to the point. Europea does not live up to Michelin-star standards.

When we arrived, our table was not ready. We were left standing at the entrance for ten minutes with no explanation.

We chose the ten-course tasting menu. Only one dish stood out. The rest were forgettable. The wine pairing was underwhelming & added little to the experience.

The biggest disappointment was the service. It felt rushed, uncoordinated, & oddly stressful. There was no sense of pacing or attention.

All four of us left disappointed. This was not the level of experience we expected.

The food was outstanding. We had the Jerome Ferrer signature menu which was quite the experience. Each dish presented was a work of art & explained in detail. likewise if you have the wine parring option, the Sommelier explains each wine choice & why it pairs with what you are about to eat. The staff & service was second to none. The starting sourdough bread basket was fresh & excellent, but a bit much when a Brioche dish also arrived. Both great, but hard to not indulge & a bit heavy. Was truly a dinner with company that will never be forgotten.

I waited a week before writing this review, to ensure I wouldn't be posting while irritable. First, let me say the service was excellent. Friendly, informative, organized. We all ordered the tasting menu (no wine), to learn what this resto has to offer. The presentation of the dishes was indeed otherworldly: original, elevated, artistic. Unforgettable, in fact. But the food! OMG, I am still bitter. I thought the French had lessened their reliance on salt & dairy by now. In a city like Montreal, with the vast array of cuisines available, I expect a fine restaurant to be able to toss the salt shaker & concentrate on flavours. Also, does dairy have to be in every single dish? Ugh. The oysters on the half shell were flavourless. The maple sugar-infused marshmallows (which you toast yourself!) were a treat! But the kobe steak? Had I not been out with friends, I would have asked for my money back. Someone better let the chef know that folks who can afford his prices have already tasted many grades of wagyu beef & know what meat SHOULD taste like. (Reminds me why I would go to Argentinian restos in Paris to get good steaks...) All in all, I would give this place a pass. (None of us complained to the wait staff, because they were so lovely & attentive; we didn't have the heart!) I hoped I would be nicer by now, but I think management needs a wake-up call: all the pretty plating in the world does not compensate for weak flavours.

2 thumbs up. Just a little suggestion the courses are rushed a bit, there should be a little pause till the guest finishes the glass of wine paired with the course.

My expectation was great food which we got on our date with my husband! The whole experience was amazing. Being an Inuk, I really appreciated the cultural acknowledgement & education around food sustainability & the integration of seal meat in particular. The food was phenomenal & the price is very acceptable for the 10 course meal we had. Wine Paring for the four glasses I do not regret but I must send caution to the price, that's where you pay. Also the welcoming drink, the champaign; $50 a glass. BUT, just do it, how often are you at a high end restaurant like JF-Europea?

Michelin service on bald Michelin tires. Prestige name, zero grip where it counts.

Food is one thing, but what you remember is the service.

The Bad
- Was asked in advance for English menus, got French, promised a swap… hostess never returned, we got ghosted like a bad Tinder date.
- Dish explanations rattled off faster than watching YouTube at 3x speed making it hard to take in.
- One dish (venison) was even explained in French while the rest were in English.
- Appetizers arrived in a blitz before we finished the last bite.
- Bread service inconsistent, other tables got the cart & stories, we got slices with no explanation.
- Table never cleaned once leaving crumbs
- No wine recommendations or pairing guidance even though it was on the menu.
- Water refills were slow, & when they did come they were poured aggressively into glasses like a waterfall splashing droplets of water on the table
- Plates removed before we were done; new ones slammed on top of old dishes.
- Dessert dragged with long gaps, opposite of the rushed dinner pace.
- Receipt tossed on the table like loose change after paying from our server.
- Gifted lobster oil at the end with no bag offered from server, a manager had to step in after noticing my hands were full leaving.
- Service was scattered: multiple servers, different standards. Our main server felt rushed & cold.

The Good
- Management team was attentive (servers need to be trained to this level).
- Kitchen was calm & professional, even offering a behind-the-scenes tour to all guests.

Food
- Traditional French dishes were the highlight (lobster cappuccino, venison stew with foie gras).
- Aesthetically pleasing with great presentation for creativity
- My lobster tail had flavour; my partner's was bland.
- Some dishes felt like random experiments from the chefs recent Japan trip, lacking cohesion.
- Oyster dish resembled oyster motoyaki without oyster flavour, paired with Nordic shrimp that tasted like dim sum spring rolls.
- Butter was bland & overpowered by spices.
- Lobster oil butter could use more lobster taste.
- Oversized brioche bun felt out of place at this level, but taste & texture was on point.
- Scallops with caviar were bland due to other flavours overpowering them in the dish.
- A surprise egg spread served two courses after bread, suggested to be eaten with bread, although good, felt out of sequence & awkward.

Atmosphere
- Clean & upscale.
- Posh décor with a live artist in house.
- Exposed glass kitchen concept is a plus during dinner service.

Overall, atmosphere & ambiance were strong, food was slightly above average good. Service, however, was chaos. Not what you expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Like a car crash scene where only a handful knew how to execute properly. This experience was described as a movie that mixes every genre - a few good scenes, but messy, random, & lacking flow.

When you're paying $185 per head before wine pairings, A-team service is expected.

Dining at Jérôme Ferrer was truly the best experience of my life! Every bite was pure joy, & the service was absolutely wonderful-they really make sure you enjoy every detail of the experience. The staff is so attentive, & it shows that they genuinely care about creating something unforgettable.

They offer different pricing experiences, & we chose the top one-I don't regret it for a second! The wine pairing was also perfectly matched & added so much to the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an extraordinary culinary experience.

Dining at Jérôme Ferrer yesterday was nothing short of an unforgettable experience.

The highlight for me was the Kobe beef, which was elevated not just by its tenderness & flavor but also its presentation, starting by showing you the uncooked meat & proceeding to make a show of cooking it (& its sauce!) in front of you. The celery & miso soup was another standout, which manages to refine & sophisticate a comforting food with seemingly simple ingredients.
To accompany the dishes, you're served a wine selection, the Sommelier Divine Pairing, which is a collection of wines paired for the fish & that complemented them perfectly.

What's most impressive is that the foods maintained their passion for flavor, something that is sometimes compromised for beauty. I'll definitely be returning & highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional gastronomic experience in Montréal.

Dining at La Grande Table Gastronomique at Jérôme Ferrer Europea was nothing short of exceptional. Everything was orchestrated with such elegance, from the table presentation to the service, it was nothing short of stunning

As an avid seafood enjoyer, I was blown away by the signature lobster grill, which came with beautiful preparation. Tasting the Kobe beef no different of an experience, along with the celery & miso soup, a comforting food delivered with the restaurant's refined presentation. Each course was elevated by the Sommelier Divine Pairing, a selection of four wines that complemented the menu perfectly.

What impressed us most was how satisfying the whole menu was. Fine dining sometimes sacrifices that quality in service of beauty, which is to be expected, but we were pleasantly surprised!

Combined with the existing beauty of Montreal, it was a truly unforgettable experience, & one I would recommend for anyone seeking the best of its Michelin-starred cuisine.

This was the best dining experience my wife & I have ever had. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was top notch. We had the Gastronomique menu with a wine pairing, & while it is on the pricy side, we believe it was worth it for a special occasion.

Lovely meal. Small menu, extensive wine list, excellent service. Steak is cooked right beside you. Pricey but the food quality is suitable for the price.

My boyfriend & I recently celebrated our 2-year anniversary at Jerome Ferrer, & it was an unforgettable experience. Everything was great, & the service was impeccable. We've tried many restaurants in Montreal, but this is the first one we truly loved.

We opted for the tasting menu at $90 per person, which was their first night offering a 17-course service. The servers were still getting accustomed to the new menu, but they handled everything with perfection. The only downside was the large portion sizes; I was already full after the starters.

Fortunately, we were able to take home everything we couldn't finish. However, they forgot to include the desserts, which were two pear tarts, if I'm not mistaken. Despite this minor hiccup, the overall experience was exceptional.

With two champagne glasses & four wines, the total bill, including tax & tips, was around $430.I highly recommend!

My wife & I wanted to try this for years & finally were able to find a free night & a babysitter on a Friday last summer. We were somehow disappointed. The service was impeccable, the location & atmosphere were fantastic but... the food was hit or miss. There are lots of small appetizers & dishes, varying from exceptional to average. Don't remember all of them, but we were especially not impressed by the foie gras (which my wife & I are big fans of). There was a strange bitterness to it. I'm not an expert, but I remember from my days living in South West France that it could indicate that it was improperly cut. Also the portions were very small. A lot of effort went into presentation, but when all you have on your plate are miniscule spots of mousse which barely exceed 2 millimeters height, it becomes a bit ridiculous. What wasn't miniscule was the bill though, which was close to 800$ for two people if I remember correctly. & we only took the minimum recommended wine services (3 glasses if I recall), without the champagne option. I'm sad to say, but it wasn't worth that price at all. There are restaurants in Montreal & Quebec City where you eat like a prince (& princess) for less than half this price.
