Picked up sushi for takeout & was so impressed! The rolls were generously sized & super fresh. Great quality for such a reasonable price. Good go-to spot for quick, tasty sushi.
Really lovely family-run place. The sushi rolls are big, & very generous with the fillings (it's not the 80%rice ratio you can find in other places). I went there several evenings in a row while visiting Montreal, & everything was very tasty. Only the dumpling soup was a bit bland & disapointing.
Their food literally gave me joy; fresh, light, & flavours are well balanced. I love their salad & the torched salmon roll was really tasty. They put a lot of care into the preparation & prices are reasonable. Excellent service run by a friendly family. This means a lot coming from me because I'm not a big sushi person. A friend was feeling it so we gave this new place a try. Went back a second time & I can definitely say it's now my fav sushi spot in the city. Update: better to dine in or take out. Tried delivery once & it was very disappointing.
The server was very attentive & kind! The sushi combo was filling & tasty. A must go for well priced sushi near the old port. Will be back again! Thank you!

My partner & I visited Ichi-Bon while in Montreal.
While searching for options we found them & looked into the menu/reviews.
The menu was easy to understand & was a contributing factor to our decision to go & although most reviews were good there was one negative review that stood out.
After looking into it more I found the person who left the review to be intolerable in their posts for most of the restaurants they visited & saw that they only left 5 or 1 star ratings. My guess is that they were the problem during their visit to Ichi-Bon & I decided to see for myself.
Staff was friendly, the food was tasty & the room itself was nice with many plants & a cute little fish tank at the counter.
Don’t let the negative review fool you, she sounds like a nightmare customer.
