Been to many Kegs before but this one tops it! Usually you get a very corporate environment but the one in Montreal Vieux port had a very cozy feel to it & a different interior design. The staff was very friendly & welcoming & the food was excellent! I am not a steak guy but had to pull the trigger once i saw the'Chicago style' which basically add a mildly burnt crust with a perfectly cooked medium rare interior - it was the perfect Christmas dinner! Highly recommend this location 10/10
C'était bon, mais les portions étaient petites. Nous avions commandé un plateau de trois steaks « keg steak platter» avec des légumes ; la portion de légumes était minimale & la viande est arrivée froide. Le menu enfant, en revanche, était très bien.
This is an amazing steakhouse with a wonderful atmosphere & truly outstanding, service-oriented staff. Our server, Will, was incredibly friendly & attentive, & he made our wedding anniversary even more special! The filet mignon & mushroom risotto are a must.
Filet mignon was amazing for many years, BUT unfortunately my last 4 visit was a desaster, the meat was never cook the way I ask. Steak was return & come back worst. I didn't even eat it & left. This is how bad it was.
Not sure what changes, grill cook must have had a bad training.
Sadly I won't go back.

I'm a huge Keg fan- I've been to one in 4 different cities & always look forward
To it when visiting Canada. On my latest visit Nov 29 in Montreal however both our filets showed up.. room temperature at best. No steam, no warmth, luke warm mashed potatoes. Ournserver Sam also was late with a tea because he forgot & I had to ask twice for my wine. Really feels like our steaks sat around for 10 mins before being served because (potentially) our party of 2 just wasn't of high priority on a Saturday. Room temperature $70 filet mignon is disappointing. I'll come back again to other Kegs but they shouldn't allow this
We have gone to the Keg Old Port quite a few times, this time was not as good as previous visits.
While the atmosphere even on the bar side is great; & the service attentive & friendly, the food fell a little short this time.
The prime rib roast was a little too rare & the yorkshire pudding overcooked. (In all fairness, they took it off the bill, because it was obvious.)
The New York Peppersteak was delicious as always & cooked to perfection. Two thumbs up!
We picked a few seasonal drinks & the mulled wine was well spiced, but missing the tanginess of a cheap wine (I know, that's a strange complaint)& was not hot enough when served; & the new smokey old fashioned is just okay, & not what you would expect of an old fashioned what so ever.
Despite this it was a pleasant evening (because after all the drinks were what we chose & nobody's fault, that we didn't like them that much), & we will go back choosing our usual, which never disappoints.
Alex was our server & he was exceptional on describing dishes . My husband had the prime rib & I had the sirloin steak with the baked twice baked potato. My bloody ceaser was the best . Atmosphere , friendly , quiet , busy but still relaxing .
Our waiter William was very nice. My wife ordered the prime rib, my daughter ordered filet mignon, my son & i both ordered the Kansas strip steak. They were all delicious. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, it was amazing.
Usually good food good service but this time around raw bloody steak was served to two of us when ordered medium well.
We passed by by coincidence. Got a quiet table at the window.
We were tired but the lady who served us really lifted us up.
We had a main course, dessert & some drinks. All tastefully & nicely presented.
Nous y sommes allés pour notre anniversaire avec mon mari. L'endroit est joli/ancien mais extrêmement sombre. Nous étions assis près des toilettes ce n'était pas très enchanteur. Notre serveur semblait souvent nous oublier. La nourriture était aussi beaucoup moins bonne (les accompagnements étaient froids) que d'autres Keg auxquels nous sommes allés.
Le service a été remarquable

We tried a few dishes & everything was amazing.
The New York Striploin was cooked perfectly - juicy, tender, & full of flavour.
The New York Peppercorn was also delicious, especially with the creamy peppercorn sauce. Definitely one of my favourites!
We had a bottle of La Petite Perrière Pinot Noir (2024) with our meal, & it paired beautifully with the steaks.
For dessert, we had the Billy Miner Pie, & it was the perfect finish - mocha ice cream, chocolate crust, fudge, caramel, & almonds. So good!
Overall, great food & great service. Highly recommend trying both New York steaks & ending with the Billy Miner Pie!
