Love this spot! They have a really good happy hour before 6pm, with a nice selection of cocktails & food. The bar section is really nice spot to sit as they have booths & feels very cozy. We came Friday night & were served by Greg who was super friendly & had some good suggestions. The wings were delicious. Will definitely be back soon.
Good service, decent food. We had made reservations for 4 on Valentine's Day. 2 adults, 2 kids. When we got there, they looked up our reservations & said it was at the bar, which is 18+ so that wasn't going to work. Fortunately, it was early, & Esteban found us another table in the restaurant after a few minutes. Initially they were a bit dismissive that the reservations were done on open table, & not directly with the restaurant - but the restaurant web site uses open table, so that felt a bit dumb. The food was good, as expected. The blender was broken, apparently, so no smoothie for the kids, & an order for Pineapple juice turned into an orange juice - I guess the bartender was having a bad day. Server was very nice & prompt & attentive. We got comped a nice piece of cake for the daughter's birthday. Overall a good experience.

We have gone to the Keg Old Port quite a few times, this time was not as good as previous visits.
While the atmosphere even on the bar side is great; & the service attentive & friendly, the food fell a little short this time.
The prime rib roast was a little too rare & the yorkshire pudding overcooked. (In all fairness, they took it off the bill, because it was obvious.)
The New York Peppersteak was delicious as always & cooked to perfection. Two thumbs up!
We picked a few seasonal drinks & the mulled wine was well spiced, but missing the tanginess of a cheap wine (I know, that's a strange complaint)& was not hot enough when served; & the new smokey old fashioned is just okay, & not what you would expect of an old fashioned what so ever.
Despite this it was a pleasant evening (because after all the drinks were what we chose & nobody's fault, that we didn't like them that much), & we will go back choosing our usual, which never disappoints.
Great steaks, wide choice, reasonable prices. Maybe too loud on the'left side' of the restaurant, being rather a sports bar (TV screens with the current matches/events), with people celebrating or watching & commenting Sport events. If you want more quite conditions, you should ask to be seated on the right side. In the picture, steak with blue cheese (it's not a Sau e, more a cheese cover, more crispy than melted).
Probably the best blackened chicken I've ever had. The service was first class & they treat you like gold. The best I've seen while in Canada . The bartender needs a raise!! I'm here on business for a few days from Wisconsin & this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I highly recommend this place if you visit Old Montreal. I'll be back.
Go to the bar. Sit at the counter. The best care & service. You don't even have to ask for a refill… done. Half an inch before you finish your beer, a new one'shows up'… can't complain to that.

The Keg was amazing! Wonderful service & recommendations from William. The Caesar salad, the steak & mushrooms, crab legs, & twice baked potato were all so tasty - & to top it off, we were surprised with dessert for our celebration right after! Not sure what the dessert was called, but that alone would have been enough to bring my back, as it the main course wasn't! The ice cream like cake was so good, tasted like a Heath Bar, & very creamy!!
Joe the bartender is amazing. Guy never stops moving & smiling. Food was excellent. Had the vegetable salad with chicken & the tuna tartare. The tuna tartare was the as good as anywhere I have been.
Valentine's Day review : Honestly hands down the best location. We got a nice spot in the bar at 3:30 on vday before the crowd came. Our waiter Greg was nice we had a nice experience. I would recommend the wedge salad with blue cheese.
March 5th review: 10 stars go to Danielle he was the best waiter we ever had & really cares about his job. He explained all the specials which was nice. He offered us the three cheese butter ( if you don't ask usually they won't give it to you but you need to try it ) for the warm bread & gave us a larger portion of butter then they usually do.
The twice baked potatoe was not rushed so made with love. Loads of bacon bits & super creamy. Got so many more veggies this time around & the steak was great & cooked to perfection.
Check out my boyfriend's lobster tail they killed it even with the butter my goodness ! Usually they give you the normal clear butter but the one we got was way better & I forget the name but it's not served at the other kegs.
On a cold winter evening, strolling through picturesque Old Montreal, my beloved & I decided to pop into The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal at 25 Rue Saint-Paul E. The atmosphere of this place instantly enveloped us in warmth & coziness. Dimmed lights, stylish interior, the feeling of a true traditional bar - all of this created a unique ambiance.
We decided to warm up by ordering a couple of signature cocktails, & they were simply superb! But the real salvation from the winter chill was their signature soups. I enjoyed the rich & flavorful lobster bisque, while my companion preferred the classic French onion soup, which was also beyond praise.
At The Keg Steakhouse + Bar, you can not only enjoy excellent drinks but also sample dishes from their restaurant menu. This undoubtedly adds a special charm to the establishment. The service was top-notch; the waiter was attentive & friendly.
Overall, the evening was simply wonderful! The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Vieux Montreal is the perfect place for those who want to spend time in a cozy atmosphere, enjoying delicious drinks & food.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. If you're lucky, you'll have William at the bar. Super friendly, attentive & has the skills to make some incredible cocktails. Try the whiskey sour with the Rabbit hole whiskey.

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Old Montreal lived up to its reputation, offering a solid 4-star dining experience. I opted for the classic ribeye, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, & it was undeniably delicious, tender & flavorful with each bite. However, while the flavor was spot-on, the presentation felt a bit standard - simply a steak & mashed potatoes on a white plate, lacking a touch of visual flair. This minor detail aside, the rest of the experience was quite enjoyable. Our server was attentive, quickly refilling our water glasses & offering helpful suggestions from the wine list, making us feel well-cared for throughout the meal. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, with exposed brick walls & dim lighting that creates a cozy & intimate setting in the heart of historic Old Montreal. Overall, The Keg delivers exactly what you'd expect - a satisfying & enjoyable meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Though a touch more creativity in plating would elevate the experience further, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others seeking a classic steakhouse dinner.
Best rib steak in mtl, ask for rare Chicago style, if you have a chance to be served by Greg at the bar, you guys are in for a treat & if you're from out of town he has great cool spots for you to try!
Le Keg Steakhouse, C'est un bon steakhouse pour y passer une soirée entre amis ou en couple. Resto Bar & écrans pour regarder les matches de sports prendre un bon cocktail. L'accueil chaleureux des hôtes & l'ambiance du reto bar vous invite à venir & de passer une agréable soirée. Le service est bon & assez rapide , Les cocktails sont excellent L'entrée d'escargots gratiné c'était bien, Les soupes à l' oignons.........Nous avons été déçu.......la serveuse nous a confirmé qu'il y avait du vin dans leur soupes à l'oignon........à vrai dire nous avons goûter à une soupe qui ne goûtait que le fond de boeuf trop prononcé ce qui était désagréable.👎👎👎👎👎 Mais parcontre le filet Mignon.....excellent sur la coche👌👌👌👍....un vrai délice, les côtes levées aussi étaient excellent. 👌👍......& les cocktails.....le Keg Maitai aisi que le Keg Antnori Tosc.👍👍👍👍👍
Superb food, service, ambiance, & location. Samuel our waiter was fantastic & super friendly. He was very efficient, kind, & knowledgeable with his recommendations. He was just perfect. The bartender Marc made the best Pina Coladas with Baileys I've ever had in Montreal. Other than going to Mexico or the Carribean, the Keg Pina Coladas are heavenly. My mother loved her blackened chicken, & I enjoyed my ribeye "Chicago style." This dinner was the absolute highlight of our trip. The Old Port is our favorite Keg location in Canada. We've been visiting Keg restaurants since 1998. We do miss the fish tank they used to have in the back near the restrooms.
