From start to finish, every dish blew us away. The oysters three-ways were fun & delicious, the scallops were perfectly cooked & the braised piglet risotto was just as impressive. The duck was a huge portion & also perfectly cooked. All the flavours were so well balanced & rich without being overwhelming. The hojicha dessert was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend this restaurant & can't wait to come back!
I was in town for business &, as I like to do, referred to the internet to guide me with particular interest in spots visited by the late Anthony Bourdain. Unbeknownst to me, I would find myself at a 2025 Michelin restaurant.
The food was phenomenal. For a starter, I had the oysters 3 ways which were excellent, every last one. My main was the duck confeit fois gras... I am not typically a duck guy, but I followed the recommendation of Helen, who was a marvelous host, & went for it. I am so glad I did! It was off the charts with flavor. Sooo good! Finally, I finished off with their take on cheesecake, which was the perfect conclusion to my foodie feast.
All the while, my pre-main martinis were on point, & the wine selection was immaculate as well.
Additionally, I got to meet the 2025 top sommelier of the Americas, Jorris Gutierrez Garcia, who is the sommelier on staff at this fine establishment.
I eat well in all of my work travels, but this was a top two dining experience for me & I will now make it a standard stop any time I find myself in Montreal.
Thank you Helen, Jorris, & the bartender who actually waited on me, along with the chef & kitchen staff... this was a lifetime memory for me, even as a solo traveler. ❤?
We ordered followings for 2;
-Braised piglet risotto, foie gras shavings
-Linguine with raw tuna, spicy sauce & soy sauce(Today's spiciality)
-Grilled duck magret, farro, cherries, smoked duck crumble
-Beef striploin, potato purée, girolles, spinach, béarnaise, marrow sauce
-Chocolate sphere, Earl Grey cream, caramel sauce
-Maple éclair, crème fraîche, walnuts, popcorn ice cream
They divided every dish onto two plates & served one to each of us.
The server told us 1 appetizer & 1 main are usually enough for 1 person.
We picked 2 appetizers, 2 mains & 2 desserts. It was good amount. It cost about $360 after tax & tips.
Everything was perfect. Especially we liked the linguine & the risotto.
The cooked oyster 🦪 was the best among the three flavors. Fried octopus 🐙 was alright. Foie gras risotto was tasty. Also liked the duck breast. Very tasty. Also ordered the cocktail 🍸 Last Word (martini). It didn't feel very special to me, just about right. Giving 4 star for food because it was quite expensive for the food portion we got.
I had an excellent evening here at Le Club Chasse & Pêche! It was on a week night so not crowded at all which set the perfect mood for an intimate dinner. Our waiter was very helpful with suggesting a wine pairing & gave us attentive service throughout the whole meal. The risotto, duck & wagyu were all SO delicious! The pommes dauphines were literally perfect & I still think about them. This restaurant is a new favorite of mine!
I've dined here many times & will be back again - perfect for a family gathering (less than 8 people) or romantic date. The food is incredible, we had the duck & wagyu beef which were both perfection. The wines were stellar, perfectly matched with our food. The service is top, very on point but also personable which makes you feel comfortable & relaxed.
What a lovely cozy fine dining spot in old port of Montreal. The foie gras risotto was amazing 🤩. I enjoyed the duck which was good. My favourite was the dessert, an chocolate eclair with caramel, fresh cream, ice cream & cookie crumble. I have never tasted anything this delicious. 😋 Overall will come back! Thank you
Three words - get the duck. Best duck I ever had. Other food was amazing too. Great service. Only nit is the vibe is way different than the website lets on. More hipster than romantic.
Had the opportunity to eat here on Sept. 7 @ 6:45pm. Small dining space with comfortable seating & filled within 20 mins I'd say. • Amazing variations of staff members help with your meal - very knowledgable with the food served • Complimentary bread provided • Huge selection of wines • We had the Quail & octopus for appetizers - both were delicious • & for main we had Wagyu & Duck - cooked to perfection & melt in your mouth • For dessert we shared the chocolate sphere - very rich with a slight hint of orange •With a bottle of wine this cost roughly $379, very worth it for the level of food provided • The only negative thing I'd mention is bring a jacket or shall to wear, we found it to be very cold inside.
One of the best meals of my life. Scallop crudo was incredible & the sauce was one of the most delicous things I've ever eaten. Partner had Salmon confit. I notmally don't love cooked salmon but this was a major exception. Perfect preperation that left no hint of the fishy flavor I associate with cooked salmon. Foie Gras PB&J was playful & deslightful. Great texture. I think it's a work in progress but I've never had anything like it! Venison was absolutely killer & the duck was perfect. Sauces all around were stellar. If I had to nitpick, the dining room felt a bit dated & the wine pours were generally smaller than I would like at this price point. Service was efficient if a bit cool. It would be good to have some emergency frozen gluten free bread on hand - partner has celiac & this is always appreciated & seems to be more & more commonly offered in place of normal bread. But these are tiny nitpicks to an otherwise perfect meal. Overall, there are meals you splurge on & then regret it. No chance of that happening at this place. Food was 6/5.
I chose Duck Magret for main course which was great, the duck meat was cooked to perfection. Raw oysters were better than the grilled one, octopus was really delicious. Staffs was ok not really friendly & professional. Still highly recommended when you're in the Old Montreal area.
