From start to finish, every dish blew us away. The oysters three-ways were fun & delicious, the scallops were perfectly cooked & the braised piglet risotto was just as impressive. The duck was a huge portion & also perfectly cooked. All the flavours were so well balanced & rich without being overwhelming. The hojicha dessert was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend this restaurant & can't wait to come back!
This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal for the food, the service & the host & the ambiance
I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 10 years & the quality of the food & service is always at the highest level. Oysters are to die for. Please order the shaved ice/thyme & the baked one. Appetizer are all wonderful but piglet risotto & octopus are perfect. Halibut always great & beef is always cooked to perfection served with perfect vegetable combination. Let them help you with wine choices. The wine list is incredible & wine by the glass are superb.
Please do not skip on dessert. They are the most sophisticated flavor with incredible presentation . Overall cuisine at the highest level. You will be so happy after you leave.
Tried to get a reservation for weeks & could not get in. Our last night in town we ended up walking up to the door & knocking & the staff was SO accommodating. We were immediately sat in a beautiful little table & treated to one if the best dinners of iur lives. The oysters were perfect & the oyster-sorbet was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. The poached fish was perfectly cooked, but the star of the show was the A5 waygu- so good! Don't forget to order dessert!!!
5/5
Food was good, great portions, well thought out, good attention to detail. Service was lacking, quite disappointing, surprisingly so for a fine dining restaurant in Montreal. Waiters were taking shots at the bar instead of asking if my friend needed a drink, who has been waiting for a while for a drink.
Otherwise, not much attention to detail. Bread was taken away before it was finished, food was taken away before it was finished. Empty drink glasses are not removed (1 hour & counting), just not the same level of service experienced at other restaurants in Montreal.
Dessert took 45+ minutes to come out. Not sure if they're milking the cow.
We did have one waiter in the end who was fantastic but he was probably the only one who made a true effort.
The food overall was great ! But the dessert that we chose was not what we expected, it was disappointing.
We took the'Nougat glacé' which is completely different from what you would get in France... the version we received was a melted nougat.. with jelly apricot, nuts, & prune in jelly & kumquat. It felt more like an ice cream than anything that I saw online. & then the'Gâteau Yaourt' was pitiful, I mean 2 tiny cubes of yaourt ? With 3 small spheres of poached rhubarb? I understand it's all about the presentation & how it you showcase the dessert , but that was sad for a dessert... I'm sorry to say this, but it needs to be improved. If it's written'cake' I'm expecting a decent slice that you'd would receive if you ordered a chocolate mousse cake.
I'm giving you guys a 3 stars for food, because the rest was amazing, but the dessert is the final judgement in my rating.
Food was delicious with a great combination of flavors. The desserts were just average, & the service could have been much bette
Firmly on track to be one Montreal's next Michelin Stars, the staff & the food combined for an amazing experience. An innovative tuna tartare on a bed of pasta was elite. Among my favorite dishes ever. I followed that with the risotto which is very rich but an excellent dish. Dessert was 10/10 as well. Real conversations throughout the night w our servers & multiple small-world moments. Prices are super reasonable. Make a weekend reservation 2 weeks in advance.
We ordered followings for 2;
-Braised piglet risotto, foie gras shavings
-Linguine with raw tuna, spicy sauce & soy sauce(Today's spiciality)
-Grilled duck magret, farro, cherries, smoked duck crumble
-Beef striploin, potato purée, girolles, spinach, béarnaise, marrow sauce
-Chocolate sphere, Earl Grey cream, caramel sauce
-Maple éclair, crème fraîche, walnuts, popcorn ice cream
They divided every dish onto two plates & served one to each of us.
The server told us 1 appetizer & 1 main are usually enough for 1 person.
We picked 2 appetizers, 2 mains & 2 desserts. It was good amount. It cost about $360 after tax & tips.
Everything was perfect. Especially we liked the linguine & the risotto.
We had a fantastic dinner at Le Club Chasse & Péche. The atmosphere is lively during dinner & has a really nice dark walls/leather chairs vibe. The food is out of this world, we loved the aged meat (with copious truffles), delicious desserts & huge wine selection. I really recommend this for a special occasion or when you want to make someone feel special.
What a lovely cozy fine dining spot in old port of Montreal. The foie gras risotto was amazing 🤩. I enjoyed the duck which was good. My favourite was the dessert, an chocolate eclair with caramel, fresh cream, ice cream & cookie crumble. I have never tasted anything this delicious. 😋 Overall will come back! Thank you
Had the opportunity to eat here on Sept. 7 @ 6:45pm. Small dining space with comfortable seating & filled within 20 mins I'd say. • Amazing variations of staff members help with your meal - very knowledgable with the food served • Complimentary bread provided • Huge selection of wines • We had the Quail & octopus for appetizers - both were delicious • & for main we had Wagyu & Duck - cooked to perfection & melt in your mouth • For dessert we shared the chocolate sphere - very rich with a slight hint of orange •With a bottle of wine this cost roughly $379, very worth it for the level of food provided • The only negative thing I'd mention is bring a jacket or shall to wear, we found it to be very cold inside.
An excellent place to have dinner in Montreal. Awesome food & service is very attentive. Starters were really good & the oysters preparation was excellent. Although the main course had some scopes of improvement, the dessert was perfect.
Excellent service & food. Even the butter they served with the bread was excellent. Recommend the short ribs. One of the desserts was served with popcorn ice cream which was done really well.
Unforgettable experience, incredible gourmet meal, unparalleled service. Dessert was a piece of art. The best restaurant in the Old Port by far.
Ambiance cosy & service impeccable.
