Magnificent authentic cuisine. Rapid & precise service although without much personal touch. A bit noisy when full. But such happy noise from people enjoying their food!View more

Absolutely delicious. I feel like it's authentic as it can get. Service was quick & food came out nice & hot. The salt & pepper pork chops were soooooo delicious. It had the perfect seasoning. I asked for a pan fried noodle thinking it was those crispy noodles & I got more of a chow fun. It's fine cause it was still super good. We came around 4:30 pm. Which was good cause around 5:15 it was getting packed. Not thing I did not like was I was cold lol. I wish the heater worked lol. Overall pretty great & affordable dinner. Each entree was like $12-$14 CAD. Better priced than the US.View more
This is where you get the best authentic chinese food. None of that westernized chinese food crap.
Been going here for 20 + yearsView more
This is the best, truly authentic Cantonese food experience I have found in Montreal. I had the Beef & Tofu Hot Pot (Ngau Lam Tofu Bo?) & it was perfect, rich sauce, lots of tender nuggets of beef & tofu, & heaps of gai-lan, ginger & onions. The service & atmosphere is exactly the vibe I expected from a traditional Chinese eatery where the food speaks for itself. I will be back again, & again, with friends. I can't wait!View more
Really authentic Cantonese style Chinese! A local Chinese who works as a tour guide recommended place to us. Mostly Asian guests in restaurant. We enjoyed food so much we ate dinner here 2 nights in a row. No frills, basic decor, you're here for the great food at reasonable prices. Salt & Pepper crispy pork chop. Sizzling Beef rolled around Enoki Mushroom. Jellyfish as a cold appetizer. Scallops with Choi Sum. Grouper with pork & tofu (fish does have bones) House bone broth was complimentary. You need to go upstairs to reach this restaurant. After 6pm the place was full & people were waiting. We arrived at 530, no wait. Hard to find parking in Chinatown. Our hotel was in Downtown Montreal. We used Uber about $12 CAD one way. Car can't pull up to restaurant (pedestrian walkway). Restaurant is only 2 minutes walk from where Uber dropped us off. Restaurant on right, don't forget it's the one upstairs.View more

I've eaten here several times. They prepare dishes quickly, & the food tastes authentic. I enjoyed the crab meat & fish soup & the veggies is not bad either. It's a convenient spot for groups, but it's a bit noisy & not suitable for formal conversations, so bear that in mind. Overall, I still like it if you wanna have Chinese food with friends & family.View more
A really good joint for authentic chinese food. One of the best places in chinatown imo.View more
An exceptional find for this who know where to look. This authentic Chinese experience is almost hidden from virtually everyone outside of locals in the know within Montreal's Chinatown community, behind an inconspicuous door leading up to the second storey location. While this visit was absolutely worth the three hour drive for us, it's worth noting that people with mobility issues will have no option but to traverse a long & narrow set of stairs. The food, served at the height of freshness, is vibrant & delicious. The presentation stands out from what you might expect from a normal Chinese food restaurant & is an experience in itself. An incredible culinary experience.View more
Authentic, fresh food. Basic atmosphere, but great food, attentive service.View more
Good was very good & what I perceived as authentic. We decided to enter to this restaurant bc it looked authentic & most of the clients looked Asian, which I took as a good sign.
We waited on the line to be seated. It felt like they were giving preference to others, supposedly they had reservation but the body language didn't felt like they did.
We were finally seated & then asked to move to a smaller table. Ok, then we moved & we looked at the menu, as a group we decided to get dishes we were familiar with & to get a dish that was unknown. Everything was very good. The spring rolls were amazing!
I would come back & would recommend, just do not expect a fine/nice dining experience, it is more like an authentic atmosphere.View more
Native Chinese here - my family has been going to this restaurant for decades. In terms of taste, this place nails it every time. The dishes are authentic, & there are lots of varieties to try. We don't go for the Westernized dishes like General Tao; we highly recommend the mushroom rolls which are a house specialty.
Just like you wouldn't expect foie gras at McDonald's, don't come here expecting top service or decor, but the food is well worth it.
