If you're looking for authentic Cantonese cuisine, this is a great choice.
Delicious & authentic Cantonese food served here. I have been back to this restaurant every time i visit Chinatown in Montreal for the last 15 years. They serve generous portions & the food has never disappointed me. Love the beef chow fun, seafood chow mein (Hong Kong style), & the snow pea vegetables. Peeking duck is also excellent.
The food is very delicious, fresh, & full of flavor. It is a wonderful spot with a diverse menu that truly offers an authentic Chinese dining experience. I had an enjoyable time & will definitely go back again for sure.
A local favorite that serves authentic Cantonese food that is characterized by using fresh ingredients & flavor it lightly. Seating area is tight. The kitchen is able to cook the orders relatively quickly.
Authentic Cantonese eatery with old school style service, portions & the tastes that I remember as a kid. Restaurant has AC & clean, but nothing fancy. High value & hit the spot. Must eat when strolling through Chinatown!
Best price-quality ratio in Montreal. Great authentic Chinese food.
Not sure why the rate is so low, this is actually very authentic Cantonese food, will definitely come more in often while still in Montreal.
If you want authentic Cantonese food this is the place it was recommended buy a Cantonese person
Authentic & honest Chinese restaurant.
Good service & good quality real food.
Impressive speed & Cantonese authenticity - wide menu selection. Pleasantly surprised.
Magnificent authentic cuisine. Rapid & precise service although without much personal touch. A bit noisy when full. But such happy noise from people enjoying their food!
ETHANS RESTAURANT
Nothing fancy. No bells & whistles... just AWESOME authentic Cantonese food at a great price. Service is super fast. In & out flash.. with leftovers. Goo
Absolutely delicious. I feel like it's authentic as it can get. Service was quick & food came out nice & hot. The salt & pepper pork chops were soooooo delicious. It had the perfect seasoning. I asked for a pan fried noodle thinking it was those crispy noodles & I got more of a chow fun. It's fine cause it was still super good. We came around 4:30 pm. Which was good cause around 5:15 it was getting packed. Not thing I did not like was I was cold lol. I wish the heater worked lol. Overall pretty great & affordable dinner. Each entree was like $12-$14 CAD. Better priced than the US.
This is where you get the best authentic chinese food. None of that westernized chinese food crap.
Been going here for 20 + years
This is the best, truly authentic Cantonese food experience I have found in Montreal. I had the Beef & Tofu Hot Pot (Ngau Lam Tofu Bo?) & it was perfect, rich sauce, lots of tender nuggets of beef & tofu, & heaps of gai-lan, ginger & onions. The service & atmosphere is exactly the vibe I expected from a traditional Chinese eatery where the food speaks for itself. I will be back again, & again, with friends. I can't wait!
Really authentic Cantonese style Chinese! A local Chinese who works as a tour guide recommended place to us. Mostly Asian guests in restaurant. We enjoyed food so much we ate dinner here 2 nights in a row. No frills, basic decor, you're here for the great food at reasonable prices. Salt & Pepper crispy pork chop. Sizzling Beef rolled around Enoki Mushroom. Jellyfish as a cold appetizer. Scallops with Choi Sum. Grouper with pork & tofu (fish does have bones) House bone broth was complimentary. You need to go upstairs to reach this restaurant. After 6pm the place was full & people were waiting. We arrived at 530, no wait. Hard to find parking in Chinatown. Our hotel was in Downtown Montreal. We used Uber about $12 CAD one way. Car can't pull up to restaurant (pedestrian walkway). Restaurant is only 2 minutes walk from where Uber dropped us off. Restaurant on right, don't forget it's the one upstairs.
I loved Keung Kee, an unadorned walk-up in Chinatown. We were the only Gweilo in the restaurant, guaranteeing authenticity. Don't expect fancy, but Keung Kee had AC, a pleasure in 94 degree weather. My shrimp in lobster sauce, around $17, was out of this world delicious. Singapore noodles was average according to my spouse, but Keung Kee is known for its seafood. Service was professional & pleased with my oohs & aahs. They were appreciative of my cash payment & my 20% tip.
One of the best place for authentic Cantonese cuisine. There steamed scallops are to die for. & also there softshell crab!!!! Every single dishes are delicious. Staffs are very friendly. & the taste is very constant. This is why we are the regulars. 😊 I highly recommend this place if you want some authentic Chinese cuisine.
I've eaten here several times. They prepare dishes quickly, & the food tastes authentic. I enjoyed the crab meat & fish soup & the veggies is not bad either. It's a convenient spot for groups, but it's a bit noisy & not suitable for formal conversations, so bear that in mind. Overall, I still like it if you wanna have Chinese food with friends & family.
