7 days a week we see our establishment become to Old Port passer by's a newfound treasure, as well as a second home The essence of Barroco doesn't solely reside on a single element, but rather in the harmony of various ingredients that create comfort and a "feel good" dining experience. With pride we hand picked every single detail in our restaurant : from the static motion (décor and set-up) to the impeccable delivery of satisfaction.
Barroco in Old Montreal is described in reviews as a charming, intimate spot where the atmosphere, warm service, and high quality food and drinks consistently impress guests. The menu features refined French-inspired dishes like braised beef and duck breast, strong cocktails, and memorable desserts, with many praising attentive service, a beautiful interior, and a cozy bar scene. While experiences are largely excellent, some reviews note small portions for the price, occasional overcooked meat, limited vegetarian options, and the setting can feel busy or pricey, yet the place is widely regarded as a memorable, reliable gem that many patrons plan to return to.
Travellers dining here for the first time. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was outstanding. Highly recommend the braised beef. Fork tender with celery root purée. I thought I'd gone to heaven. Heritage building with dim lighting but a lively atmosphere. Would come here again!
Everything about this place was great! The beef Wellington was worth the wait (50 minutes of cooking time), but with some delicious starters like beef tartare & oysters & some drinks it went by fast!

Excellent romantic meal in a charming restaurant. Waitress was very professional & friendly. The Winter salad with chicken liver pate & braised beef O.G. were killer dishes. Cocktails & the imposed two-hour dining limit were less attractive. I look forward to returning to Barroco.
We remembered this place fondly from our last visit to Montreal, & returned to find it was even better than we remembered. The craft cocktails are delightful & the food was incredible. The atmosphere & service are cozy & friendly. Don't miss the mushroom parfait or the O.G. Braised Beef. This is a very special & memorable place.
Both the food & service were beyond exceptional. The braised beef melts in your mouth, the halibut was cooked to perfection. The winter salad was exceptional. More importantly, our server, wish I recalled his name was informative & attentive! My wife & I could not give a higher recommendation. On our way out, a couple asked us if we enjoyed it & should they go try it! Our answer was YES
Our final dinner on our trip did not disappoint! Barroco is a small, romantic little place. A petite menu with a little bit of everything. We enjoyed the homemade brioche with onion butter, roasted chicken & our favorites hand down was Braised Beef!

Barroco was phenomenal! Major kudos to Marc who runs their bar program & made fantastic cocktails. The beef tartare was the best we've ever had, hands down!
What a divine little restaurant. Had a lovely time having dinner at Barroco, the bar man was fantastic & so attentive. I had the leeks & scallops for entree, omgoodness - delicious! A must have. The flavours in this was something else. & the beef for main cooked to perfection again the flavours in the jus & puree was delicious. Highly recommend this place. Very nice selection of wines & cocktails aswell.
Wonderful dinner out with family. Beautiful restaurant, great service, & the food was delicious. Braised beef was a favorite & hangar steak was amazing.

Excellent experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy & lively. The drinks were phenomenal. We started with the leeks & scallops, which were delicious, & shared the beef wellington for our main which was fantastic. The steak inside the Wellington was the best cut of meat I've had in a long time.
Our server was very attentive & personable, & gave excellent recommendations. I will make a point of going back to this restaurant the next time I'm in town.
We had one night in Montreal. Barroco had great reviews & did not disappoint. Three of us had the braised beef & I had a duck breast special. There was not a morsel left. To start I had oysters & others had the scallops. Both were winners. George our server was terrific. It's a little pricey but for one night! Great wine list. I'd go back for sure.
Tremendous food experience. We had the oysters, a farm salad, & the beef Wellington for 2. The service was delightful & the food delicious. It's a small restaurant with about 12 tables & that un hurried & gracious European dining style. Our best meal in Montreal.
Our experience at Barroco was outstanding! Service was fabulous, the drinks were unique & delicious, & the food was really tasty. We got the braised beef & the halibut. The brown butter halibut is a must try. We also loved the mezcal espresso martinis for dessert. The ambiance made for a cozy but elevated night.
Decadent but worth it! We had great service in a charming space & that OG Braised Beef is insanely good. Unlike anything I've had (& I'm from Kansas City & have had lots of braised beef)! Lobster salad & gravlax were also great. All around lovely dinner for our last night in Montreal.
Came here for the late night menu special for 29$. We tried the beef tartare, the duck & the gnocchi. They were all delicious & flavorful. Definitely worth the price.
The ambiance is nice & cozy. The staff was friendly as well.
The braised beef was pretty good but the Butcher's cut steak was extremely bland, unseasoned, & very very fatty (1/4 of the steak was not edible). The mash potato that came with the steak was also very bland I couldnt finish it. The braised beef's sauce saved me tho I had to dip the steak in there cause it tasted like nothing for $75. Service was okay when we came in we werent greeted & had to wait for a while even though we had reservations. Service felt really rushed. Atmosphere was nice & cozy :) overall experience was okay, definitely not worth the pricetag
