Unfortunately seated to the restroom which my wife was very unhappy with. Was our anniversary dinner (15 years ) & was really underwhelmed.
First time in Montreal & Google Gemini highly suggested.

My wife was not pleased with her food except her salad.She had the duck meal which she described as somewhat dry/overcooked.

Would state that the braised beef was exceptional

Would not recommend as a first choice for a romantic dinner for an anniversary. The ambience is definitely urban chic.

Marc is simply the bomb in terms of mixology! From a fresh twist on a hibiscus infused tequila based cocktail to the perfect vesper martinis & old fashions. We were treated to a show of his skills while seated at the bar & were privileged to enjoy the in-house prepared foie gras followed by a very fresh & flavourful beef tartare. The pavlova for dessert was also off the chart. We will definitely come back every chance we get. This place has never disappointed me through the many years & has gotten better with time.

Barroco was the highlight of our trip to Montreal...so good, we went back a 2nd time. First, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. It is intimate & romantic but also accessible. & we loved the music! Instead of sleepy dinner tunes, they played a great mix of classic & upbeat music that we really enjoyed.

The food & wine list were stellar. Favorites were the OG shortrib, oysters & duck. My wife loved the seabass paired with an Alsace riesling. I think we also tried every dessert. Don't sleep on the tarte, it's excellent! They gave it to us for free to thank us for coming back a 2nd night!

Service was wonderful. Super attentive, friendly. The perfect spot to go in Montreal.

?C'était notre première fois dans ce restaurant ce samedi soir pour fêter nos 5 ans de couple avec mon copain.

L'ambiance était très sympa, son plat était délicieux & tout le reste s'est bien passé. Malheureusement, mon assiette a vraiment gâché notre soirée.

?J'ai pris l'agneau à ~70$ qui était même recommandé par la serveuse. Comme on le voit sur la photo, la viande était pleine de gras dur & de cartilage.

C'était tellement caoutchouteux que j'ai pu manger à peine un tiers de mon assiette.

?Quand j'ai montré le problème à la serveuse, elle m'a juste répondu : « Vous pouvez garder le plat ou demander autre chose ». Elle a remis toute la décision sur mes épaules. Prise au dépourvu & par politesse pour ne pas faire de vague pendant notre soirée spéciale, j'ai dit que je le gardais. Ils auraient dû retirer l'assiette tout de suite au lieu de me mettre mal à l'aise.

?Pour couronner le tout, la serveuse a complètement ignoré notre table après ça. Elle n'a même plus posé le regard sur nous & a envoyé quelqu'un d'autre s'occuper de nous. Par contre, elle est réapparue à la toute fin, uniquement pour nous faire payer l'addition.

?Très décevant pour une occasion spéciale & un établissement de ce niveau.

We'd been wanting to try Barroco for a long time, but as the restaurant isn't very large we hadn't been able to book a last-minute reservation until last night. I'm so glad we did. Suffice it to say that every dish was a delicious symphony of flavors in your mouth.
Below is a pic of their braised beef in an aged balsamic & maple sauce (usually comes with mashed potatoes, but I asked for asparagus instead) which they've had on the menu since they opened. If you haven't been yet, you have to check it out!

We've been wanting to try Barrocco for a long time, but as it's not a very large restaurant it had always been booked for last-minute reservations. We got lucky last night & glad we did! Suffice it to say that dish was a symphony of delicious flavors in your mouth! If you haven't been yet you gotta check it out! 🩷😋😋

Beautiful restaurant in an equally beautiful area. Food was really good we ordered two starters, both delicious. Mains equally good. The pasta was off the charts! Will for sure be back.

The atmosphere is very romantic. Nice cocktails. The food was delicious. & Jade provided excellent service with a pleasant demeanor.
