I don't live in Montreal or Canada even but each time I visit, I come to Barroco. The cocktails are creative (Paper Crane & Echo Chamber last night) & the food was delicious. Above & beyond is the atmosphere & attentive service. Florian was beyond nice & made the celebration of our niece's graduation even more special.

The food is exceptional. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, & clearly made with high quality ingredients. You can tell real care goes into both presentation & taste.
The service is top tier. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, & genuinely warm. The staff makes you feel taken care of from start to finish, which elevates the entire evening.
Whether you are there for a date night, a celebration, or just an indulgent night out, Barocco delivers on every level. It is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend.

Both the food & service were beyond exceptional. The braised beef melts in your mouth, the halibut was cooked to perfection. The winter salad was exceptional. More importantly, our server, wish I recalled his name was informative & attentive! My wife & I could not give a higher recommendation. On our way out, a couple asked us if we enjoyed it & should they go try it! Our answer was YES
We had reservations for a Friday night & despite being busy the place was small enough that it still felt cozy & it was easy to have conversations & hear each other. The decor is really beautiful as well.
The food tasted excellent. The staff was attentive & came to check on us regularly & they were also kind enough to modify a dish for us to remove one ingredient we couldn't eat so thank you for that.
The winter menu (we went in December) didn't have much for vegetarians so do be mindful of that (it would be lovely if they could add some) but if you eat seafood &/or meat you'll have some really delicious options.
What a divine little restaurant. Had a lovely time having dinner at Barroco, the bar man was fantastic & so attentive. I had the leeks & scallops for entree, omgoodness - delicious! A must have. The flavours in this was something else. & the beef for main cooked to perfection again the flavours in the jus & puree was delicious. Highly recommend this place. Very nice selection of wines & cocktails aswell.
Excellent experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy & lively. The drinks were phenomenal. We started with the leeks & scallops, which were delicious, & shared the beef wellington for our main which was fantastic. The steak inside the Wellington was the best cut of meat I've had in a long time.
Our server was very attentive & personable, & gave excellent recommendations. I will make a point of going back to this restaurant the next time I'm in town.

From start to finish, our experience at Barroco was nothing short of incredible. The food was absolutely superb, flavorful, beautifully presented, & cooked to perfection. The drinks were just as impressive, especially the Cantaloupe cocktail, which was one of the best I've ever had.
What truly made the evening unforgettable, though, was the exceptional service. Our server (I wish I remembered his name, but we know he's from France!) was warm, knowledgeable, & incredibly attentive. Every recommendation he made was spot on. The manager also went above & beyond to make us feel welcomed & cared for.
Their hospitality left a lasting impression on me, & I'll definitely be back. Barroco, became one of my favorite dining spots out of all the place I being around the world.
We had a great night this past week at Barroco. Atmosphere is unique, historic & super cool. It's not a big place but it's a great environment. Phillip & his team took good care of us. They were friendly & attentive. The food was great.
Barroco was charming & romantic with great dishes & cocktails. The brioche starter with the garlic butter is something you can't miss, & the cantaloupe cocktail tastes like your biting into a fresh cantaloupe. Our server was very attentive & explained the dishes & specials very well.
The food was delicious. It was a good balance of traditional dishes with modern twists without being heavy or dated.
Service was attentive & friendly without pretense.

Visiting Barroco in Old Montreal was an unforgettable experience, especially thanks to their phenomenal Beef Shortribs, which was hands-down the best meal of my life. We opted for the Menu du Chef, & every dish was a delightful surprise, masterfully prepared & bursting with flavors. The ambiance of the restaurant offers a cozy yet elegant backdrop perfect for a special evening, complemented by staff who are both attentive & welcoming, making you feel right at home. Everything about Barroco was perfect, from start to finish. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try those incredible shortribs again. If you find yourself in Old Montreal, Barroco is a must-visit spot-you won't regret it!
Went there for my birthday, locals love it here.so had to give it a try. Live the rustic decorations. Small restaurant so make reservations. We started w paper crane cocktail ( a twist on paper plane) it was good but it looked like a 2 oz drink. The glass looked very ball. See photo In NY the get 4 oz drinks. Other than that the food is great. Ayube the waiter/Sommelier:/owner was very friendly n attentive. I got a nice sparklers w after dinner drinks to celebrate my birthday. Very cool.
Excellent food & cocktails, & attentive service. The paella & short ribs were delicious. As were the house made crumpets with roe. Lastly, the decor was incredibly charming & rustic.

The experience was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was inviting & beautifully decorated. The food was top-notch, truly some of the best I've ever had. Every dish was authentically prepared & bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh, & the presentations were impeccable. Our waitress, Alexandra, was amazing. She was friendly, full of life, & exceptionally professional. Alexandra's warm personality & attentive service made our dining experience even more enjoyable! She went above & beyond to ensure we had everything we needed & made excellent recommendations. 💯!!!
We arrived early to our reservation, & we're offered complimentary prosecco while waiting. The atmosphere is so cool & the staff is so incredibly attentive & kind... Even when I spilled some wine on myself. The food was really good. I dont know if our pallets aren't up to snuff or a couple our dishes were off from what we expected for the price point (HIGH). We enjoyed it overall.

Charming, cozy bistro with friendly, attentive service. My monkfish was superb, served with bacon cracklings. Hubby had the veal & a papery thin mille feuille of potatoes. Also excellent. Great selection of wines. Prices were not astronomical. The original edifice was an 150 year old stable. Old-timey lamps at every table give off a warm glow, a wild boars' head trophy & ancient stone walls make this place a keeper.
