Frankly, it might even be the best pastry I've ever had. Perfectly balanced sweetness with the salt from the butter, crunchy exterior with a soft & flavorful interior. Absolutely delicious straight out of the oven. It was so good I had to buy a whole one to bring home, & even still, I would go back to Montreal in an instant just for this bakery!
A must visit place for us when in Montreal. One of the best croissants & Kouign Amann bread. Love it.
10/5 would go again, the kouign amanns are delicious! Lines on the weekend outside move quickly
Unassuming spot that absolutely kills it with everything they make. The kouign amann was beyond exceptional! I also loved the croissant au fromage that I got
Must have: Kouign-Amann
choclatine, almonds & regular croissant were also very delicious.
friendly staff.
on my Montreal repeat visit places.
THE BEST I have had in Canada. The kouign Amann is sooo good! The almond croissant & milk bread with chocolate filling is amazing. We also liked the coffee. We went back twice! Definitely worth a visit if you are in Montreal.
The best Kouign-amann I've ever had. If you visit Montreal you have to check this place out!
One of my best friends is a proud Bretonne who went to McGill with me, & she did not hesitate, after a couple bites of kouign amann from this place, to declare that it was ('somehow') better than the best kouign amann in Bretagne. I am not breton but I trust her, & frankly, I'm not even slightly exaggerating when I say that having lived in Montréal for half a decade, Kouign Amann Bakery is the thing that brings me most to Le Plateau; it gets me out of the door on sad days (even if I don't end up going, it's the idea that revives my soul)-it truly is my favourite dessert/pastry/sweet in the entire city.
This place is an institution, & I could not be more proud to live in the same city as it.
Did a quick stop here yesterday on the recommendation of a friend. I tried the Kouign Amann for the first time, & wow, I'm ready to make the 5hr drive back for more. So very good! Buttery, flakey, with that caramelized top. It was a religious experience in every bite!
Also had their almond croissant which was also very good.
I will definitely find a reason to come back.
We made a quick pitstop here on our walk to La Banquise. This bakery was delicious 😋 Everything we tried was so buttery & perfectly not too sweet. I've never had a kouign amann that looked like a slice of pie but it was a welcome surprise because it was the best kouign amann I've ever had. I'd definitely come again.
Kouign Amann anywhere is the best tasting, richest pastry in any form. Theirs is no exception. Never seen it in this large pie form. Buy a full one to take home. Their heating-up instructions worked great to return it to almost as good as fresh (& DEFINITELY still better than the many stale croissants we kept getting at other shops in Montreal).
Awesome place. Very affordable yet delicious fresh pastries. Some of my favorites are the croque monsieur, kouign amann, quiche, & the almond croissant. Definitely will stop by again when I'm in town.
First time visitor. Bright & dainty place. Truthfully I didn't order their specialty menu item. I went in for an Americano & a fresh Croissant. The croissant was flaky & just the right amount of chewy. There were only two tables & I felt a bit guilty taking up a table just for myself. So I took off a star just because it seems like a place where you grab & go your order. There is a lot of foot traffic & I over heard a lot of customers say that this was their favourite spot! I would go back & try their Kouign Amann. Next time!
Le kouign l-amann est incroyable. Sûrement le plus authentique de Montréal. Service très chaleureux & sympathique !
