Courez-y, bixitez-y pleine vitesse fissa. Vous en aurez besoin de cette dépense d'énergie après avoir goinfré deux parts de kouign Aman tellement que c'est un délire. Service super sympa en plus. Six étoiles.

We tried the small Kouign-Amann, which comes with six perfect pieces-the absolute perfect size for our family. It was served fresh, crispy, & warm, with that flawless balance of caramelized crunch & buttery, flaky layers.

Cuando visitas una ciudad hay que buscar una experiencia completa, y en Montreal un gesto tan sencillo como pedir un kouign-amann puede convertir la visita en memorable.

Este dulce nació en Douarnenez, Bretana, hacia 1860, y se atribuye al panadero Yves-René Scordia. Su nombre significa literalmente'pastel de mantequilla' en bretón, y no engana: es como un croissant llevado al extremo, con capas de masa, azúcar caramelizado y mucha, muchísima mantequilla.

En Au Kouign-Amann, en Mont-Royal, llevan más de 35 anos sirviendo esta pequena bomba de felicidad. El local es pequeno, sencillo y con pocas mesas, pero precisamente por eso recomiendo no llevárselo corriendo: siéntate, pide café y disfrútalo despacio, crujiente por fuera, tierno y mantecoso por dentro.

Más que una pastelería, es una parada gastronómica imprescindible. Un símbolo dulce de Montreal que merece un hueco en cualquier ruta por la ciudad.

I don't get to enjoy bakeries often due to a pistachio allergy but when I visited Kouing Amann there was no pistachio on the menu so I had the privilege of ordering. My girlfriend & I sampled four of their pastries & all were excellent. The house signature pastry is beautifully layered with a textural contrast & flavor that left me speechless. This bakery is going to be a required stop on any future visit to Montreal.

We stopped by near closing time & tried their signature Kouign Amann. It was buttery & warm & probably the best Kouign Amann we have ever had. This is a must try item!

Excellent bakery with a small selection. The Kouing Amann is some of the best I've had this side of the Atlantic. Fluffy, chewy & just the right amount of sweetness. A must try when visiting Montreal.
