🤩❤?❤? Succulent!!!!
This is one of my two favourite restaurants in Montréal, & over the past three or so years the food has somehow gotten even better!
I rarely give 5 stars for any service or product but this hidden gem exceeded my expectations. It was outstanding. In the Washington DC metropolitan area there are several Ethiopian restaurants. None of which have impressed me enough to go out of my way to return to dine again.
However the Bleu Nile authenticity took my taste buds back to my first Ethiopian dining experience.
It is a quaint yet elegant dining place. The service is very accommodating. I have to give credit to the chef whose recipes are both stimulating & mouthwatering. I have only a month to enjoy this food until next year.
I wished they offered side dishes.
The host made a special effort to clean a table by the front window for us which was much appreciated. The food was exceptional as was the service. Highly suggest going there!!
Appetizers in the tasting platter were a little more creative than usual, & delicious. Small. The mains were a generous portion for one person, with lots of injera. Nothing unexpected, very tasty. Honey wine is lovely & strong. It was very stuffy inside, not sure why the AC wasn't going, but luckily there was seating available outdoors.
Edit: I went back to this restaurant hoping to match the level of experience but it's obvious that the service of quality has changed, specifically due to the main server who was very curt & rude at times. The quality of their food has also declined. Both the fillet Mignon & the doro wat are incredibly salty & lacking richness in the spices used in their food. The portions also seem much smaller as well.
We dined on the on the patio, it was a beautiful summer evening. The food was delicious. We had the tasting menu for two as well as some honey wine. Service was excellent.
