A mixed experience overall. We ordered the garlic naan, butter chicken, lamb nihari and saag paneer with rice. The sauces for the curries were all very good and left a really strong first impression. Unfortunately both the meat and paneer were incredibly tough and overcooked. The lamb was mostly bones and fat, the chicken was cut too thin and was chewy, while the paneer was almost like overdone tofu. It's a shame because the flavours were all there but costs were cut with the main ingredients and, at $24 for an entree, the portion sizes didn't make up for it either. Overpriced as well to make matters worse. The mains should have been no more than $18 like most the other Indian restaurants in Montreal. While not pictured, I also have to call out their naan as the worst I've ever had at any Indian restaurant. It was thin, burnt and had the texture of overcooked pizza dough rather than naan. Finally, as a positive note, the service was incredibly warm and friendly when we both arrived and left. However, all the other reviews are correct that you'll never get a refill of water or any attendance during your meal unless you go out of your way to flag someone down. The real hidden gem in the heart of quartier latin of Montreal, tasty food comes in a very generous portion, charming yet authentic decoration, splendid Flamenco performance, amazing Sangria...you got all fabulous ingredients to bake an unforgettable evening. Best pub food in Montreal! I had dinner with five friends and shared a bunch of dishes. Everything was spectacular! The Sea Bass, Tuna Tataki, Fried Mushrooms were all delicious, but the Beef Cheek and Lamb Kabob were over the top. I want to return and try the rest of the menu! Unfortunately, the Bloody Caesar that I ordered was disappointing. It was made in too large a pint glass and it had too much juice and ice, (which quickly melted). All this killed the flavour of the cocktail. Also, there's something weird about the acoustics of the room, which made the chatter of the crowd seem incredibly loud. We were having a lot of trouble hearing each other, even though the music was quite low. Nevertheless, the service was amazing and we all had a great time.Voir plus

First time to this restobar. The foot selection is wide and the drink selection diverse. From wines, to beers and cocktails all needs will be met. The food was incredibly delicious and well prepared even down to the decadent dessert selections after your meal. Service is very welcoming and the staff paint a fabulous and friendly atmosphere. We had the most amazing time at this restaurant on our first day visiting Montreal from Toronto! We showed up without reservations and the lovely chef (Simar) was able to kindly accommodate us. The food was probably the best Indian food I have ever had in my life! Our waitress and all the staff welcomed us so well and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time! I was looking forward to trying their famous smoked meat sandwich during my MTL visit. This was my first visit and sadly will be my last as I was disappointed in the food and service from the takeout counter. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich, pickle and cherry coke. I was shocked by the small portion size given the price charged(almost 30$ for everything) and that there isn't a combo offered at the takeout counter. My sandwich was kind of dry and made me feel sick later; also my pickle seemed rotten(I had to throw it away after my first bite). Plus I witnessed the cashier coughing and then giving the takeout order receipt to the guy making sandwiches after I received my order. Her customer service was lacking and I see that seems to be an issue from others' reviews. Plus no straws for soft drinks? I wish I had read the reviews beforehand but oh well. I will try another spot for smoked meat next time and hopefully have a better experience.Voir plus

First time visit in this new Japanese restaurant that was strongly recommended by friends. I have to say that we had a great evening, the food was terrific. We were suggested to try sampling a dozen of various entrees tapas style hot and cold. I also had sake, Hakutsuru - Junmai. I question why people come here. For the same price, you can go to steakhouses that are much better(Example: Grinder). This is a chain, and it's not quality. I had the filet mignon with potatoes and vegetables, the potatoes and the vegetables were so dry, clearly it was pre made. The plate they gave me the food in was all dirty. The bread they gave at the beginning was terrible, we couldn't even eat it(I guess I am too used to homemade quality food). The only reason for my 3 stars is for the great service and nice staff!Voir plus

Brewery with "pub-style" tapas, a very interesting approach. Recommended 2 dishes per person, 3 for the really hungry Tried their NEIPA, Spatzel plate (incredible), roasted curry cauliflower (decent shareable), schnitzel (with amazing side sauces), and a tiramisu cake with coffee flavored stout EDIT: I may have actually ordered a Financier second dessert, but there's no witnesses, it never happened... Ce St-Hubert à Ste-Thérèse est merveilleux. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié Linda, notre serveuse. Tout était parfait avec elle. Nous demeurons à st-Janvier à Mirabel et nous faisons le détour pour aller manger à ce St-Hubert. À toutes les fois que nous sommes allés au St-Hubert de St-Janvier nous avons été toujours déçus. We were in Montreal to view the eclipse, see old friends, and generally take in the city's history. Looking for a place to sample some excellent Quebec cheeses and smoked meats served with style and creativity, we read on-line about La Buvette Chez Simone and it seemed like a good place to try. This intimate wine bar did not disappoint, with a menu as varied and eclectic as the clientele. Here, the crowd dictates the mood and the food is the star, with the friendly and knowledgeable wait staff only too eager to assist two anglophones with what might be the best items for them to try. They were correct. Nowhere else could we have had such a delicious and varied assortment of true charcuterie that was likely to be among the best in the city. A full menu of creatively prepared cuisine and desserts round out the offerings. A late night place that takes on a vibrant vibe in the evening when the adults come out to eat and play. Special thanks to Rafael from Marseille who was chatty, helpful and friendly. We'd go back often but we live in West Palm Beach and so will have to be content with the memory of a wonderful meal and evening in Montreal.Voir plus
