I recently dined at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar Pointe-Claire & unfortunately left disappointed with the overall experience.
Our group arrived with two additional guests, & while I understand space constraints can happen, the situation was not handled well. The manager, Luis, assured us he would bring over an additional table once one became available, but he never returned or checked in with us again throughout our three-hour visit. This lack of follow-through felt unprofessional & not reflective of strong hospitality standards.
Service throughout the evening had several oversights. Our server seemed rushed when taking orders, & the guest of honor was the only one left without a drink initially, which set the tone early on. There was also little to no engagement in terms of suggesting appetizers or desserts, which contributed to a transactional'get them in, get them out' feeling rather than a welcoming dining experience.
That said, the food itself was excellent & met expectations, which makes the service shortcomings even more noticeable.
Having spent 30 years in hospitality, I know how important it is to create a memorable experience for guests-especially when challenges arise. With rising dining costs, service & attention to detail are what truly set a restaurant apart. Unfortunately, that element was lacking during this visit.
I hope improvements are made, as the food quality is certainly there-but the overall guest experience needs to catch up.
Great atmosphere & quality food.
Good menu. Attentive wait staff . Free parking . Accessible for challenged people. Reservations recommended as this is a popular eatery . Dinner for two with wine $190 plus tax.

The prices are extremely high for what is offered. Small portions, average taste, & no attention to detail. You can find much better quality elsewhere for half the price. Definitely not worth it.
While the quality of many restos deteriorate, as prices escalate, The Keg has risen to the occasion, enhancing their dishes with the most delicious baked beets, tasty mushrooms, & homemade bread. The 10 oz. prime rib with the horseradish condiment was excellent. To summarize, I can't remember the last time I had such a good meal; well done & bravo to Keg ! Service was friendly (Get Eddie) & professional, & prices were more than competitive compared to other restos in the same category.

I recently visited The Keg Steakhouse & left with mixed feelings. To begin with, the restaurant was extremely crowded. While a busy dining room can sometimes create a lively atmosphere, in this case it felt a bit overwhelming & made the experience less relaxing. It also added a sense of being rushed, both for the guests & possibly for the staff.
On a positive note, the service was very fast. Our server was attentive, & the dishes arrived quicker than expected, which is always appreciated, especially on a busy evening. The drinks were also a highlight of the night-well-prepared, balanced, & genuinely enjoyable. It was clear that the bar staff know what they're doing, & the cocktails were one of the best parts of the visit.
However, the food itself didn't quite meet expectations. The meals were not as tasty or flavorful as they should be for a steakhouse of this reputation & price range. The seasoning & overall quality felt underwhelming. Considering the cost, we were expecting a richer taste & a more memorable dining experience.
Overall, although the service was efficient & the drinks were excellent, the crowded environment & the disappointing food made the visit less satisfying than hoped. The quality-to-price ratio simply didn't feel justified. I hope the restaurant can improve the consistency & flavor of their dishes, because at the moment, it doesn't fully meet the standards its prices suggest.
Fantastic experience at The Keg! Even though the food I ordered wasn't exactly my type, it was still cooked to perfection & absolutely delicious. The quality, service, & atmosphere made the whole visit awesome. Definitely deserving of 5 stars!
Located right next to Fairview, this Keg has a really nice ambiance. It is warm & inviting from the moment you walk in. The staff are welcoming & attentive, making the whole experience even better. Steaks are cooked perfectly, cocktails are spot on, & everything is consistent in quality. A great spot for dinner or drinks.
I highly recommend!
The quality of this restaurant is getting worse & worse. Such a shame, it used to be so good. But clearly, the kitchen staff need training on how to cook a steak. Terrible cooking & the service is extremely slow, even if the room is quiet. The waiter wasn't able to explain any drinks & kept bringing us dirty glasses & even brought the wrong beer. This is not what it used to be but the managers clearly are too busy elsewhere

We were looking forward to a great New Year's Eve dinner at a nice restaurant, so we were willing to spend a bit more for a good experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. One steak arrived without the proper toppings & with a cold baked potato, while another was cooked well done instead of the requested rare. At $50 a steak, this is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, one of us had to wait 15 minutes after the others received their meals. As a steakhouse, we expected a higher standard of quality, & this experience did not meet those expectations. We were truly let down, especially considering the premium price.
Disappointing evening at the Keg Pte Claire for my mother's birthday. Spent a few hundred bucks & left with mixed feelings. While the service & my steak was good, the rest was a bit disappointing. Ordered a caesar salad to start, it had barely any vinaigrette, nothing else but parmesan on it & most of the salad wasn't fresh. It's probably one of the worst caesar salad I've had, it's usually a pretty safe dish. My son had a plate of veggies with his kid meal. Th carrots were huge, he couldn't bite into it, I had to cut them again & the celeri was full of dirt from where it grew. Not impressed. I had the rib steak for the main which was really good but the side of veggies tasted nothing. All this to say that it wasn't a terrible experience but when paying a few hundred bucks for a meal you expect a certain quality in the food & it was simply not there. It was my first time at the Pte Claire location & not sure I will go back, had much better experience in Laval & Downtown Montreal. Not the type to complain at the restaurant or to leave reviews for a matter of fact but the fact that I woke up the next morning wondering if I should have brought the family elsewhere made me do it.
I went there for my cousin birthday dinner! Anthony was serving us, was really patient & helpful! From appetizers to main courses, this gastronomic experience was beyond my expectations: spectacularly scrumptious! I enjoyed the filet mignon , & I highly recommend the Billie Miner Pie! Service of quality & excellent & friendly atmosphere

I've been going to the Keg for years & the quality has always been great. Their service is always exceptional as any issues, it was resolved. This was my first time in this location & everything was great. What stood out for me during this visit is our server Fadi, he was awesome! Give this guy a raise!
I go to the keg on a weekly basis in both Ontario & Quebec. The quality has gone down in the last 6 months at this location unfortunately. Our nacho order was incorrect & being remade but while it was being redone, they left the garlic cheese toast on the warmer. By the time we got it it was room temp. They did make us a new one but we were full at that point. Also the nacho size has gone down by 25-30%, specifically at this location only. The mango daiquiris as usual are amazing however it was sitting on the bar top for awhile before our server brought it for us & we were the only ones on the patio she was serving. They did give us a free Billy miner pie as it was my mom's birthday, which is standard for birthdays.
everything was so tasty! wedge salad 10/10, top sirloin 10/10, billy miner pie 10/10!! a few misses with our waiter however...my mock caesar came without celery & when i inquired he asked'oh you wanted that?'. who doesnt!? the waiter beside us brought me the celery & i said NOW its a caesar & he said didnt you want the spicy bean? i said id LOVE one & he brought me a plate of 4!! THATS a waiter! i asked for extra dressing on side, salad came w ONLY dressing on side. still delish. i asked for chives & olive oil for baked potato & it came plain, had to ask & wait. no offer of coffee either. BUT the food quality was so great it overshadowed the misses. last word: dessert menu needs a light choice & to rename the mile high chocolate cake to thin slice of chocolate cake. skip it & go for billy miner!
