Nice place for a more chic night out with friends or date, sort on the mid tier pricing when it comes to Japanese food, but the food can be a little hit or miss.
Have had the tsukement & Khao Soi dipping ramen before & it was delicious, definately some of my favorite from them, their duck is always really good as well.
Sushi fish is fresh, rice is done ok.
Was a little dissapointed this time with the katsu steak, the'self grill' new to the winter menu, it's quite minable. There's not much meat & the coating is rather flavorless & falls apart, it was also quite oily & moist so there was no texture to it. The sauces are ok, the miso butter is delicious, otherwise the'soy wasabi' doesn't really taste of much besides light soy sauce, the rest is just wakfu mayo.

My friend & I had a wonderful luncheon at Shushuto's on Saint-Patrick Street in Montreal.
We were warmly greeted at the door & were told to select the table we wanted. Our table service was prompt & in our own language, English, which we appreciated.
One of the real benefits of Shushuto's menu is that there's something for everyone, sushi, Asian bowls, ramen dishes, & vegan selections. I ordered the Mango salad with grilled duck breast, & my friend ordered the salmon tartare. Both were absolutely delicious & we thoroughly enjoyed them.
It should be noted that parking can be a challenge in the neighborhood of the restaurant, since there are more condo's are being built & reserved street parking is on the rise. Reservations for lunch at Shushuto are generally not needed but they are a necessity for dinner. If you do reserve for dinner, add more time to your commute to allow for parking.
Lunch at Shushuto was a great experience & one I hope everyone tries. I will definitely be back.
Just ate here. Place is delicious. I had the mango salad with the fried soft shell crab & the spicy tan tan ramen with pork. Way too good for the price. I also had the 7th heaven gin & tonic & it hit the spot!
We ordered chicken & two ramen dishes. The presentation was nice, the idea of mixing the protein with the ramen yourself is interesting, but unfortunately the quality was very poor. The food was nothing special, & considering the price, it was not worth it at all.
My suggestion is to stop misleading people with Instagram & TikTok reviews & instead focus seriously on improving the food quality. Both of us had stomach aches later that afternoon, very disappointing.
The service, food & ambience was all perfect. I had the chicken karaage, salmon kamikaze sushi, & the spicy tan tan miso pork ramen. I highly recommend everything!

Was just okay as a meal & experience. Service was slow & not overly warm. I ordered an iced matcha latte & was expecting it to come sweetened (as 99% of them do). It was not sweetened & when we asked for a syrup to be added we were given raw sugar packets which don't do much in a cold drink. I ordered tonkotsu ramen. The presentation was extremely uninspired. The flavour was good though. & we ordered the soufflé pancakes that were a complete let down. They were not at all as advertised & were more like a maple flavoured cake than a soufflé pancake. Maybe it was an off day but I would not come back for brunch anytime soon. Too bad as I had heard great things.
Pretty place, welcoming service.
Crab Bao buns were messy & so deep fried & shelly that I had to force myself to eat one. I should have gone with a different filling. Tuna tartare was delicious but buried under mixed greens. The duck tsukemen ramen wasn't bad but the whole concept of dipping is not great in practice. I would have preferred having that broth option as a regular soup.
Sakepina was kinda mediocre. Saketini was sweet but went down easy. Orgasmique is a softer espresso martini. Nikka Old Fashioned was smooth.
The ramen here is very good. My wife & I had the chicken karaage & duck respectively. Both were delicious & very filling. The place is on the pricier side but worth it if you're looking for a really good ramen restaurant with some unique dishes. My only criticism is that it took a while for the waiter to take our order but it was probably a busy night.

Came for lunch but tbh would probably be better for dinner. I got the karaage chicken, tonkatsu ramen, & tsukemen [usually only served for dinner but I got lucky they were serving it for lunch]. The karaage was yummy, & the miso tsukemen was good. The only thing about the tsukemen was that the dipping soup was very thin [typically should be thicker to cling onto the noodles more] & the noodles were thick... making it bland. The soup itself was delicious, the pork was nice & thick, & I enjoyed the addition of sesame seeds.
The tonkatsu, on the otherhand, is a false advertisement. Tonkatsu is typically pork bone broth, but this was chicken broth + pork base (?). Would be less mad if it was good... but it was mid. Was also disappointed that the egg was hard boiled. Not much to say otherwise.
Gave a 5 star for service because there was only 1 waiter serving the whole restaurant. He was very calm & efficient, truly a star 🌟. Also I thank him for letting me know that the Tsukemen was available for lunch!
Shushuto bar à ramen + tapas is a restaurant that offers the best vegan & fusion food ❤?❤? The staff is super welcoming, gracious, give the best food recommendations, & are always on their feet 🙏🙏 The overall vibe & decor of the restaurant is very nice & cozy 😇😇 We started with the Bao Bin - soft shell crab & it was so delicious 🎉🎉 For the main meal I had the crispy vegan Soleil à Kyoto while my partner had Creamy cheese udon with katsu chicken & each bite was a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? Our full compliments to the chef for making such exquisite food with so much flavour 🙏🙏 For dessert we had the crème brûlée & the Japanese pancake with green matcha & they were incredibly tasty as well 😇😇 Cannot recommend this 11/10 restaurant enough to anyone who wants to try Asian fusion food with the best service 🎉🎉
