We ordered two different kinds of ramens: 1) their original tonkatsu, 2) their duck ramen with soy based broth. Definitely their original is a better option! Their portion is large so two can share one! I ordered seaweed but they only have shredded seaweed (still tasted pretty good). I liked how their tonkatsu was not too salty. Overall, a good ramen place.

Visited the place for lunch. It was a nice experience. We ordered a few items including the Ube iced Lattee, Karaage, Fluffy Omlette Pancake, Porc Katsu Sando, & their Shoyu Duck Ramen.

The Karaage was smaller sized with a bit too much flour coating rather than light & flakey, but the portion itself was a good size. Would not recommend personally.

The fluffy Omlette Pancake was exactly as expected, great to taste but very heavy to eat, felt a bit sluggish afterwards. Delicious nonetheless, though I would share this with another person or 3 people. Great flavors & well done.

The Porc Katsu Sando was one of the favorites. Light, fluffy toast, porc was a bit dry, & heavy of the sauce (too much for our liking). But this dish was nicely crafted & I would order again with less sauce.

The Shoyu Duck Ramen, now this was the'piece de resistance', I can only describe it as having a cool spring breeze pass through while taking in the scenery of budding flowers & just the still beauty of life itself. Having tasted this, I would recommend it to everyone. Easily the best dish served that afternoon. The broth was flavorful, light, & not overbearing, the noodles were excellent & thing, & the duck was perfectly tender, every single bite.

i had noodles with duck confit & it was good, but not exceptional. service was indifferent. price was high for what is on the plate. noise level on a Thursday night was loud & the music unpleasant but'hip'. the restaurant restaurant occupies the site of Magnan, but has been renovated & is unrecognizeable.

The restaurant is cute & the Google pictures of their food look delicious. Our expectation were high for our first experience. However, we got'dry & very simple' duck ramen & an overpowering onion tasting salmon tartare, which lingered in our palates for all evening. The drinks were good. Our waiter's service as dry as the ramen. The place has potential & needs work on both the food & service angles.

The service was really bad...we waited 30 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation & another 45 min to get our food. The steak Sando had to be sent back cuz the steak was well done & the bread was black.
In terms of atmosphere, it's very loud & the light fixtures & giant plant in the front needs a dusting, badly.
The duck French toast was nice but that cheese sauce tasted like cheese whiz & after seeing the kitchen pull out their karaage from a bag I realized I'm overpaying.
If you want a place to post cute pics of your towering french toast & cute ube matchas for your Instagram, go ahead. But if you're looking for good quality food & service, I'd go somewhere else.

We had reservations for 1:30 pm. Brunch should have a table turnover of 45-60 mins. We waited 30 mins for someone to take our drink order & over 1 hour to receive our food. The service was very inattentive & cold. I couldn't enjoy the food because of the service.

Not a fan of the overcooked steak in my sandwich that I was told by the manager is'medium' & the burnt bread. At least they removed it from the table & bill.

The duck confit French toast was nice but I would tell them to make a home made cheese sauce rather than cheese whiz.

The karaag comes from a store bought bag. I would avoid.

Had a great time here! The food was great. We had the udon duck confit & the cheesy udon with beef. They were both very good plates, good portions (took some leftovers home). The duck was a little on the dry side but still very good. The drinks are so good! We had a strawberry mojito & an amaretto sour. Excellent. Waiters were super nice. It took a little while for our food to come, however.
All in all I would recommend!

Nice place for a more chic night out with friends or date, sort on the mid tier pricing when it comes to Japanese food, but the food can be a little hit or miss.

Have had the tsukement & Khao Soi dipping ramen before & it was delicious, definately some of my favorite from them, their duck is always really good as well.

Sushi fish is fresh, rice is done ok.

Was a little dissapointed this time with the katsu steak, the'self grill' new to the winter menu, it's quite minable. There's not much meat & the coating is rather flavorless & falls apart, it was also quite oily & moist so there was no texture to it. The sauces are ok, the miso butter is delicious, otherwise the'soy wasabi' doesn't really taste of much besides light soy sauce, the rest is just wakfu mayo.

It was fabulous. Noon on a Monday; there were only 8-10 other customers enjoying their lunch - so peaceful (more came in as we ate).. 70's music playing quietly in the background (our generation-we loved it). I loved my salmon tartare - delicious. He had the duck salad, which he also enjoyed. Our server was great. When we told him how much we enjoyed the music, he said it was his personal favorite golden hit's list. He said it was a totally different place in the evening - the joint would be hopping! I will definitely go back - but only for lunch.

My friend & I had a wonderful luncheon at Shushuto's on Saint-Patrick Street in Montreal.
We were warmly greeted at the door & were told to select the table we wanted. Our table service was prompt & in our own language, English, which we appreciated.
One of the real benefits of Shushuto's menu is that there's something for everyone, sushi, Asian bowls, ramen dishes, & vegan selections. I ordered the Mango salad with grilled duck breast, & my friend ordered the salmon tartare. Both were absolutely delicious & we thoroughly enjoyed them.
It should be noted that parking can be a challenge in the neighborhood of the restaurant, since there are more condo's are being built & reserved street parking is on the rise. Reservations for lunch at Shushuto are generally not needed but they are a necessity for dinner. If you do reserve for dinner, add more time to your commute to allow for parking.
Lunch at Shushuto was a great experience & one I hope everyone tries. I will definitely be back.
