We ordered chicken & two ramen dishes. The presentation was nice, the idea of mixing the protein with the ramen yourself is interesting, but unfortunately the quality was very poor. The food was nothing special, & considering the price, it was not worth it at all.
My suggestion is to stop misleading people with Instagram & TikTok reviews & instead focus seriously on improving the food quality. Both of us had stomach aches later that afternoon, very disappointing.
The service, food & ambience was all perfect. I had the chicken karaage, salmon kamikaze sushi, & the spicy tan tan miso pork ramen. I highly recommend everything!

Each time I've been to Shushuto I've had great food & service. We had the creamy cheese udon with chicken katsu, the smoked salmon & avocado French toast (I dipped everything in the maple syrup 🤤), & the duck confit mazemen!
We each had the Cheesy Udon which tasted amazing, honestly its a shame I'm lactose intolerant because then I'd have been able to actually finish my food instead of asking for it to go. The steak cutlet was cooked beautifully & nice & tender & honestly amazing with the udon. The atmosphere itself was great, very nice seating & the place looked incredibly pretty.
The staff was amazing & super attentive & friendly so that's a huge plus.
The only'issues' we had all night was that the chicken Bao buns we ordered weren't honestly all that good, just lacking in a salt in my opinion & we weren't the biggest fan of the seasoning of the chicken itself. & the other being that we ordered Lava Cake & were told they overbaked the entire batch so essentially we just had a brownie. It was a good brownie, don't get me wrong but a little disappointing when you wanted & ordered the Lava Cake.
But yeah, honestly that's just a small caveat really in my opinion, the experience was overall very nice & I'm sure the Lava Cake issue was more so a one-off mistake.
The ramen here is very good. My wife & I had the chicken karaage & duck respectively. Both were delicious & very filling. The place is on the pricier side but worth it if you're looking for a really good ramen restaurant with some unique dishes. My only criticism is that it took a while for the waiter to take our order but it was probably a busy night.
Came for lunch but tbh would probably be better for dinner. I got the karaage chicken, tonkatsu ramen, & tsukemen [usually only served for dinner but I got lucky they were serving it for lunch]. The karaage was yummy, & the miso tsukemen was good. The only thing about the tsukemen was that the dipping soup was very thin [typically should be thicker to cling onto the noodles more] & the noodles were thick... making it bland. The soup itself was delicious, the pork was nice & thick, & I enjoyed the addition of sesame seeds.
The tonkatsu, on the otherhand, is a false advertisement. Tonkatsu is typically pork bone broth, but this was chicken broth + pork base (?). Would be less mad if it was good... but it was mid. Was also disappointed that the egg was hard boiled. Not much to say otherwise.
Gave a 5 star for service because there was only 1 waiter serving the whole restaurant. He was very calm & efficient, truly a star 🌟. Also I thank him for letting me know that the Tsukemen was available for lunch!
Shushuto bar à ramen + tapas is a restaurant that offers the best vegan & fusion food ❤?❤? The staff is super welcoming, gracious, give the best food recommendations, & are always on their feet 🙏🙏 The overall vibe & decor of the restaurant is very nice & cozy 😇😇 We started with the Bao Bin - soft shell crab & it was so delicious 🎉🎉 For the main meal I had the crispy vegan Soleil à Kyoto while my partner had Creamy cheese udon with katsu chicken & each bite was a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? Our full compliments to the chef for making such exquisite food with so much flavour 🙏🙏 For dessert we had the crème brûlée & the Japanese pancake with green matcha & they were incredibly tasty as well 😇😇 Cannot recommend this 11/10 restaurant enough to anyone who wants to try Asian fusion food with the best service 🎉🎉

location = spacious & good ambiance
service = our waiter friendly & quick
drinks = my amaretto sour can be better, sour but not sweet enough
food = everything we ordered. delicious
what we ordered:
-Crudo; plate of raw salmon, avocado, ikura caviar with yuzu dressing
-mazemen, ramen without broth, protein we chose; pork Chashu
-japanese creamy carbonara udon noodles with shrimp tempura
-mangoe salad with grilled chicken (yummmyyy!)
-Oh La La rice paper sushi rolls
salmon with shrimp tempura i believe.. definitely recommend!
My husband & I celebrated our 39th Anniversary at Shushuto Bar & Ramen Plus Tapas.
Our Server Ben was exceptionally accommodating. The Food is Delicious & generous portion. We ordered the salad mango with grilled chicken,Japanese Steak Katsu for Appetizers ,followed with Sashimi Platter Salmon & avocado,& Japanese pancake Rose-Berries dessert & Affogato Baileys & cappuccino to end our dining experience.
It's the Best Japanese Restaurant we ever trie
& Oh. Ben gifted us a slice of cheesecake
Thanks Ben !!
Let me start off by saying our server Ben, was fantastic. He really made the experience by knowing the menu & being attentive.
The drinks here are delicious & worth the price.
The food on the other hand, left room for improvement. I got the miso ramen with chicken & my partner got Oyster Bao & Inari sushi. The chicken in my ramen was cooked & seasoned perfectly, but the rest of the ramen dish could have used more flavour. My partner said her Bao bun was a bit dry & the oyster mushroom was a bit over powering in flavor.
Will we come back, maybe, but if we did it would probably only be for a drink & the wonderful service of Ben.
Great location, vibe & service but the food really disappointed. The Karage chicken did not have that crispiness that all fried karage's i've eaten before, the noodles were mediocre & the beef sirloin was overcooked & had bones/cartilage.

Food is alright. For the price, you expect more quality & bigger portions since the menu seems so diverse… I ordered the Karaage as an entrée & it came much smaller than expected; almost the same size of mcdo chicken nuggets. Go for the Instagram pics, not for the food. The cocktails were 11/10 tho!
We had a great evening at Shushuto with friends. The food was amazing (we started with fried chicken, edamame & scallops, had a bunch of delicious cocktails & ramen). Don't know what was better the food or the service (thanks Charles!). Definitely a place you want to hit up for date night or a night out with friends. Make sure to reserve because the place gets busy!

Service wasn't great. The ramen noodle it's self was good but the rest of the soup wasn't, my chicken was cold & didn't taste right. However, good sushi, & good cocktails.
Nice atmosphere, the decor is great. However the food is just average, the chicken karaage tasted like basic chicken nuggets & the porc chashu was dry. The creamy udon was the only good thing. Highly disappointed.
It's a great place! We had the kaarage chicken, Gyoza & sushi as entrée & it was really good! The ramen was amazing! We will definitely go there again!
We decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary here & it was a good decision. We loved the ambiance, service, & food. Everything was too good. We would recommend the salmon tartare, which is a must try. That was our favorite. Loved the udon carbonara with shrimp. It was heavy but very different with an amalgamation of japanese & italian flavors. The Sushi Roll Ooh la la was very different with a rice paper instead of Nori. Flavors were on point. We went for the oyester mushroom bao vegan option, which we felt lacked a bit of punch. The mushroom didn't feel like the star. Chicken Mezeman felt the suace was a little too sweet for our palette, but the charred flavor on chicken was mind-blowing. Our cocktail mai tai was pretty strong &, on point, loved it. Overall, it was amazing. We will definitely be back again.
