Très mauvaise expérience. On nous a servi un plat froid, avec une odeur très forte, au point où on se demandait s'il était encore bon. Franchement, c'était impossible à manger.
Le service n'a rien arrangé, personnel désagréable, peu à l'écoute, aucune excuse ni solution proposée. On s'est sentis complètement ignorés.
& pour couronner le tout, les prix sont beaucoup trop élevés pour la qualité servie. Une expérience vraiment décevante. Je ne reviendrai pas & je ne recommande pas ce restaurant.

Great restaurant! The vibes & the food were amazing! Being from out of province this is definitely one of the best food spots in Montreal! We were taken care of by our server Tony, who was amazing! We will definitely be back!

Superbe expérience au Sel Noir, cocktail délicieux, entrées divines, plats délicieux & très fins ! C'était vraiment merveilleux, encore plus, grâce à notre adorable serveuse Marie-Lou qui été très professionnelle & bienveillante ! Nous recommandons & nous reviendrons c'est certains lors de notre prochain séjour sur Montréal !!

Shockingly poor service despite the place being very quiet. No water refills, no follow-up for drinks, & no attention at all. Really bad experience. The filet mignon had absolutely no taste, & even after asking for salt, it was never brought. They also never brought our second order.

Nous avons découvert ce resto pour la 1ere fois & avons eu une super belle soirée. La nourriture était excellente, le steak parfaitement apprêté & les fruits de mer aussi. Le service attentionné.

Had the surf & turf for 2. First off, service is great & attentive. 40oz tomahawk is flavorful, tender & juicy with a nice grilled taste. Shrimps are A1...overall great romantic experience & the quality to match it.

Mon avis est très mitigé, de manière generale nous avons été déçus..
L'ambiance est feutrée bien qu'un peu trop bruyante, nous sommes arrivés tôt il y avait peu de monde, le personnel était sympathique bien que pas toujours très attentifs : tous les verres d'eau n'ont pas été remplis, après une première demande la serveuse a de nouveau oublié. Au moment de choisir une boisson, la serveuse nous laisse la carte mais oublie de revenir nous voir pour prendre la commande.
Pour les plats : burger de boeuf wagyu, on ne nous demande pas la cuisson de la viande, & celle ci arrive beaucoup trop cuite, extrêmement sèche ! Je retourne mon assiette, le personnel m'indique qu'une nouvelle viande me sera servie. Mon assiette revient alors que celles de mes compagnons sont déjà terminées & débarrassées, & ma viande est toujours extrêmement overcooked. Soit c'est surgelé, soit ce n'est pas du wagyu…
Je n'ai finalement pas mangé, & ils ont la décence de ne pas charger mon plat. Mais tout de même, une grande déception.

L'ambiance était incroyable, le personnel vraiment rien à dire tous des pro & surtout un grand merci au manager Xavier qui sait comment mettre ses clients à l'aise & en valeur! Je recommande à 100%! La cuisine & le service sont vraiment au rdv très bon ratio qualité prix!

⭐?⭐? Very disappointing experience - extremely overpriced for what you get
We chose this place after reading mixed reviews & seeing the nice décor & downtown location. Unfortunately, our group visit (3 people) turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we've had, especially considering the price 💸.
Let me start with the positives, because yes, there are some:
The location is great, easy access downtown 📍. The ambiance is calm & stylish, lighting is nice, & the bar looks beautiful 🍷. On paper, this place has potential.
But that's where the positives end.
🍽? Food & Portions
For a restaurant charging around $100 per person, the portion sizes are shockingly small. As you can clearly see in the photo, the meat portion is tiny-honestly, peanut-sized for that price. This is absolutely unacceptable.
They also cannot seriously claim this is Wagyu beef. We are not clueless customers. Anyone who knows meat can tell this is NOT Wagyu. Charging premium prices while misrepresenting quality is a huge red flag 🚩.
No sides included, everything is extra. No ketchup. No napkins. For a place positioning itself as upscale, this feels careless & lazy.
🧑?🍳 Service (Major Issue)
Service was very poor, similar to what other reviewers mentioned.
• Plates were taken away before we were finished
• Long waits just to get basic attention
• Staff chatting among themselves while customers waited
• No follow-up, no check-ins, no professionalism
At this price point, service should be polished & attentive. Instead, it felt rushed, disorganized, & indifferent 😒.
💰 Value for Money
This is the biggest issue.
The quality does NOT justify the price. Not even close.
Paying $100+ per person for:
• Tiny portions
• Average (at best) food
• Poor service
• Missing basics like napkins
…is simply unreasonable.
Other reviewers mentioned anniversaries, special occasions, & high tabs with minimal acknowledgment. We weren't even expecting anything special-but basic respect & service should be standard, not optional.
❌ Final Thoughts
This place tries to sell a luxury experience, but delivers mid-level food at luxury prices. Ambiance alone does not make a restaurant worth returning to.

Food: we ordered the Filet Mignon & Pan Roasted King Salmon. The Filet Mignon had no flavor, was brutally charred & not cooked properly. The Pan Roasted King Salmon had a strange texture & a bright orange sauce that didn't compliment the dish very well. For my drink, I ordered a Tanqueray & tonic; it was watered down & had barely any substance to it. The side of fries were decent.
Service: we had a female waitress who wasn't very attentive nor friendly. I noticed that she was very attentive & outgoing to the three other parties in the establishment, except for us; we were virtually ignored. We had to ask for water, straws, a steak knife; probably because we were tourists - so that tells you what you need to know.
Atmosphere: was very nice, I did like the interior, but the vibe of the waitstaff was… not good. The restaurant was empty & the waitstaff were just chillin around the bar, giving strange looks. The gentleman who greeted us & took our coats upon entering was very nice & welcoming, but it was unpleasant & downhill from that point forward.
As a tourist, I wouldn't recommend this place.
