Amazing experience! I came with a group of 10 to celebrate a birthday, & everything was on point.The food was delicious - perfectly cooked tomahawk, rich mac & cheese, & amazing truffle fries. Portions were generous, drinks were great too - my amaretto sour was really well made.
Special shoutout to Xavier, who made our night. He explained the menu, gave great recommendations, & made sure we were well taken care of the entire time.

I wanted to love this place so much… the salmon tartare was a joke, nothing short of disgusting… Brussels sprouts were also really bad, nothing short flavor, no depth, no nothing… you can tell this place is trying. They try to take classics & reinvent them with bold ingredients & their own unique twist which I admire, but if the star ingredient is muffled by everything else, you're back at square one. I for myself will not be coming back for a while… until they make some changes. I hope this review is taken seriously & that they work on the basics of their menu because this place truly has the potential. Other than that, the staff was awesome for the most part, super friendly wait staff & great drinks.

J'ai été quelques fois à ce super resto!
La bouffe est délicieuse, le service & le staff sont merveilleux. Les drinks sont tellement bons. Les proprios sont géniaux! Je recommande!! Ça vaut le détour!

Shockingly poor service despite the place being very quiet. No water refills, no follow-up for drinks, & no attention at all. Really bad experience. The filet mignon had absolutely no taste, & even after asking for salt, it was never brought. They also never brought our second order.
Food: we ordered the Filet Mignon & Pan Roasted King Salmon. The Filet Mignon had no flavor, was brutally charred & not cooked properly. The Pan Roasted King Salmon had a strange texture & a bright orange sauce that didn't compliment the dish very well. For my drink, I ordered a Tanqueray & tonic; it was watered down & had barely any substance to it. The side of fries were decent.
Service: we had a female waitress who wasn't very attentive nor friendly. I noticed that she was very attentive & outgoing to the three other parties in the establishment, except for us; we were virtually ignored. We had to ask for water, straws, a steak knife; probably because we were tourists - so that tells you what you need to know.
Atmosphere: was very nice, I did like the interior, but the vibe of the waitstaff was… not good. The restaurant was empty & the waitstaff were just chillin around the bar, giving strange looks. The gentleman who greeted us & took our coats upon entering was very nice & welcoming, but it was unpleasant & downhill from that point forward.
We chose this spot for our 4 years anniversary. It's a pretty restaurant with a good ambiance. The drinks & food were good but the service was mid. An incident that made us a bit frustrated was when our server, Gabriel, took our half finished plates away in his hands & then after asked'fini?'while walking away. When we decided to ask for the bill, it took forever to get his attention & then forever again to come back for payment. We wanted to be comprehensive that they might be busy, but they were mostly just chatting among themselves. Also, we mentioned about our anniversary in the reservation, not that we were expecting anything, but just a verbal congrats would've made us feel appreciated. We had a tab of $500+ & still decided to leave 18% tip, but we don't think we will come back.

Had an amazing time! We sat right at the bar, & the bartender was incredibly friendly. The manager also stopped by to check that we were enjoying our food & drinks. The risotto was absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend.
Dark but cozy. Most of the food was decent, the tomahawk steak wasn't as flavourful as we'd hope. The mash potatoes were the best part of the meal, carrots & mushrooms are pretty close too! Our waiter was very distracted so we didn't see much of him unfortunately. That could use some work but we still had fun. The price of the steaks is all you get & not worth the money, then if you want sides, it's all at an extra cost. You'd think at $60 a plate you would get some veggies or salad but nope, not here. Drinks were fantastic! There is so many food choices out there so once was enough to know we won't return here again.
Went there with a group of friends for my birthday. We had a blast, food was amazing, service was on point, & the vibe was good. The waiter made a mistake on my drink order & quickly fixed it & offered shots to all of us :) we appreciated it & showed us the level of service this place has. Ribeye steak is a must, it was absolutely delicious!

The food is fantastic. I had the filet mignon & Parmesan fries. It was delicious!!! The drinks were amazing. The owner Des knows what he's doing! Great hospitality, love it can't wait to go back!
The service was a little slow, but we had a great time & had drinks while we waited. The spicy margarita was a mouth full of flavor, highly recommend. Also this was probably the best lobster we've ever had, & the waygu strip was phenomenal.
My experience at Sel Noir was beyond expectations! Food was excellent & flavourful! The staff is attentive & what can I say about the drinks? Absolutely divine!! I can't recommend it enough! An amazing steakhouse in Montreal! Cosy & nice atmosphere!! 5 ⭐️
I went there for a special occasion with my significant other, Availability was nice, not having to wait 2-3 weeks for reservations is a plus. Overall good, Asked for a Grey Goose Cranberry & got a Ketel one. Espresso Martini needs works. Appetizers needs more variety & maybe halve the portions, You get less Salad for twice the price at Mandy's... Steak were really good, the oven potatoes felt like it was re-heated in the oven... Wait time was a big issue, our drink arrived quickly but as mentioned above weren't top notch. Appetizers took 30 minutes & steak took so long to the point my SO wasn't hungry anymore. Music also WAY to loud people needed to yell to have conversations. Staff were really friendly & understanding. Very nice location & the esthetic of the restaurant is by far one of the best I've seen in a long time Hopefully some stuff are addressed because this is a nice place overall !
Sel Noir is hands down one of Montreal's best steakhouses. I've been a few times & what i love the most is how every new experience is enhanced from the previous one. Improvement is of most importance in this industry! I've always been greeted warmly, served perfectly balanced cocktails in a timely manner (if i want a simple cocktail, like a vodka soda, it'll be served in a flash!) & ate tasty food. The portions are also more generous than other places i've been. Drinks🍀 Purple Haze is spring in a drink (& a strong one girlies, if you know what i mean) As an espresso martini aficionado, the Sel Noir is probably my favourite one in the city🍸 & it's hard to miss a Spicy Marg, yet i've lived through that unfortunate event & didn't have a marg for months. never had a bad one here ;) Entrées🍀 my fav "sharing" combo is: Gravlax + Burrata + Caesar Salad + App of the ✨moment✨ Sides🍀 mushrooms + carrots are a must & table fries are a non negotiable! Main🍀 I keep it simple stupid & go for the rib eye, with the cream cheese sauce (!!!) & cajun butter. It's flavourful, buttery, great& simple. Nothing more to add. I definitely recommend Sel Noir !
