J'ai été pour la première fois à ce restaurant qui, à une ambiance extraordinaire ! J'ai vraiment apprécié mon expérience culinaire. J'ai été vraiment bien reçu & le service a la clientèle est hors paire!! . Idéal pour une''date'' ou tout simplement une soirée entre ami(es) !
The food & service were incredible. The service was fast, efficient & friendly. We ordered the salmon tartare the chicken & the risotto. All 3 were better than I expected. Very flavourful & well cooked & prepped. Perfect for a date or casual dining. Very nice ambiance & not too noisy. Special shout out to Desmond for making the experience even more special. Would highly recommend.

J'ai trouvé le sel noir super acceuillant notamment grâce à Gabriel qui nous a conseillé de délicieux cocktails basé sur nos goûts. L'ambiance est aussi très agréable presque speakeasyesque. Parfait pour une date entre amoureux !
J'ai adoré mon expérience au sel noir! Service impeccable & personnalisé. Sans parler de la nourriture, tout était délicieux!! C'est certain qu'on va revenir pour un autre date night, l'ambiance est parfaite pour ça!
As a restaurant owner myself, I highly recommend! Fantastic birthday dinner! Food was excellent, staff was attentive & friendly, perfect music. 10/10. Lovely for date night or girls night out.

We were excited to try Sel Noir but we were very disappointed.
Ordered the Tomahawk steak & by the time it arrived, it was cold & tasted bland! No sauce was offered & after we asked for some, it took 15 minutes to get it. We don't mind paying premium prices but we expect premium quality & service. This was not the place for that.
The staff was not particularly pleasant, leaving us ignored at the door while they were chatting away in front of us. The only one that stood out was the young man serving us water & asking how everything was. The shrimp was tasteless & also cold. The carrots & mushrooms were tasty but not the reason you go to a steakhouse.
The atmosphere was the saving grace. Nice ambiance & if the food & service was good would make a great place for special dates & occasions. There are much better options out there.

I absolutely loved my experience at Sel Noir Steakhouse. Perfectly located in downtown, the chic ambiance is ideal for a date night. My bloody Caesar was spot on, & the service was excellent. The Caesar salad, burrata, & beef tartare were all amazing - everything was just perfect! Highly recommend!
Had a great experience at this chic & intimate steak house. The owner & the staff were incredibly friendly & the service was on point all night. The burrata was just so fresh, & the octopus cooked to perfection with a delicious nduja sauce that gave it an extra spice. The Ribeye was very tender & had a nice crisp on the outer. The lobster & shrimp risotto was creamy & delicious, with a generous portion of seafood on top. A simple yet classic side was the Mac & cheese but probably one of the best I've had. Can't wait to go back to this gem in Montreal. Perfect for date nights or even a group! Would definitely recommend.
Had a great experience here with a couple buddies last night. Great spot for friends to grab a meal or a date night. Food was amazing & they were very helpful & aware with our table being celiac. Will be going back again.
I would reccomend this place 110%. Whoever is reading this , this is a great place to have a nice diner date with your special somebody. What a cozy place & the food was honestly amazing. I reccomend the oysters as an apetizer & having the NY strip steak & combo it with mashed patatoes. It was delicious. I ordered the Purple haze cocktail & it was fantastic as well. This place is perfect for date nights, a very nice & classy atmosphere , waitstaff is friendly & funny. Food is amazing! Me & my boyfriend's favourite steak house so far! The potato dish is to die for! Purple haze drink is very yummy. Honestly can't get over the romantic feel of restaurant over all.
Found this place on instagram, took my girlfriend on a date here the other week & absolutely loved it. We tried the steak with the mashed potatoes (amazing!) & the lobster (usually not a big fan, but this place may have won me over). Overall, food was delicious & worth the wait. The vibe was intimate & would highly recommend for a date night out!! Great new place.
Amazing steak house with ambience that's second to none! The restaurant is absolutely stunning & the service is amazing. Food was fantastic & very well priced considering it's in the heart of downtown! The steak was cooked to perfection & the crème brûle for dessert was to die for. If you want to impress your date this is the place to go! 💯 Desmond was a fantastic host & I highly recommend you ask him about the Secret menu! (If you like lobster rolls) Definitely going to be one of my Go to spots when I'm in the Sherbrooke/crescent area!
