Food was decent. The owners take a percentage of the tips from the servers which is disgusting & illegal. Somebody needs to get them investigated for this immediately. The owners are verbally abusive & pay below minimum wage.

great quality food at an affordable price. also good takeout. I ordered the lasagna casalinga & it was very good. it came in an inviting display, composed of soft pasta with tasty stretchy cheese covered with appetizing sauce. it wasnt expensive & it came in a big portion.

We went there after 3 months of quarantine. The food was very oily & very very heavy! Super hot as we had to wait half an hour for it to cool down! Very heavy pasta sauce. We ate 1/4 of it & ended up with a stomachache !

I was having a late lunch on Sunday & was super confused, a woman in the back of the restaurant seemed to be screaming frantically in greek to a young boy & then to one of their wait staff.
Being & understanding greek, this made me & my family super uncomfortable & wanted to up & leave right away. She was actually harassing both the boy & the waitress. How can they treat their staff with such disgust? The waitress seemed utterly shocked.
I have 0 respect for how this restaurant being run.
The way they treat & harass their staff makes it super uncomfortable to enjoy time spent with my family.

I went to go have a late lunch yesterday with my husband & we were sitting in the back area which we thought would have been quiet enough for the two of us. We ordered our food with the nice waitress & the food came quick enough. My husband had pasta & i had fish, & both were too oily for my taste. The pasta was drowning in sauce & the fish had started making a soup in my plate. & all this wasn't even the worst part! We were quietly NOT enjoying our food when this hysterical woman with dark hair starts yelling in the back. I'm not sure if she works there or maybe she was just an unhappy customer but she was screaming at this young boy in some kind of language. Then she disappeared & came back in full swing to yell at someone else in the same tone. Not only was the food bad enough, but the way this woman was yelling made the whole experience quite terrible. When our waitress had returned to our table, the poor woman looked shocked. ALL this to say... HORRIBLE RESTAURANT! If management allows people to scream at each other like this, how can anyone enjoy their meal (which is hard enough as is).

This was our first time dining here & the food & service was amazing, our waitress was so kind & made sure all was ok. Never had such a good waitress in a long time. Very busy restaurant, beautiful ambiance. Although noisy it's not that bad. Would definitely go there again.

Scarolie's value is hard to beat - the food is consistently good & reasonably priced. Service is great. IF you are looking for a romantic spot, this is probably a little noisy as its so popular. Lamb rack is amazing, lamb chops also delicious, seafood pasta is full of seafood, plenty of salads & vegetables, fresh baked bread - portions are generous. When you want decent food & a good ambiance without breaking the bank, this is a good choice!

service a tad slow but not bad, & i enjoy my plate but nothing crazy good. the lighting is nice & romantic! but they also have a nice round table for a group of friends!

Love this place! Best pasta restaurant in Montreal that I've tried. We do takeout from here often. The tortellini GiGi is always a family favorite. The chicken parm is great. I will be coming back for years to come!!!

The food is usually great. Everyone should try their calamari, it's a meal on it's own, every time I've had it, It was always perfectly cooked.

They're food is good, huge portions, nice décor & the waiters aren't bad.

One thing to watch out for (which has happened to me a number of times here) is if you make a reservation, you'll still need to wait for a table. It's happened to us that we had to wait for up to 45 mins to get the table we had a reservation for, which defeats the purpose of making a reservation in the first place.

But besides that, it's a great place to go, would recommend.

We had not tried Scarolie's since a disastrous evening 4 years ago. Improvements in staff were obvious. The meals were served in a timely & professional manner. I ordered a steak done to perfection covered in brie , red peppers & mushroom with sweet potato fries.... it was absolutely delicious.

I ordered a bottle of Jacob's Creek & was totally disappointed in my choice as the wine had little character & was a poor match for the meal.

All in all a beautiful & memorable evening.... thank you Scarolie's!

UPDATE (SEP 6 2014);
We reserved a booth for 7:00pm for 4. We waited for 20 minutes... what are reservations for? We did not get a booth as we had been promised. We were greeted by a hostess with far more attitude & surliness than professionalism, which, coming from someone a third of my age was hard to accept. Our meals were delicious, no complaints whatsoever. However, the immature & inexperienced staff negated any positive experience the food gave us. After being 'guided' to our table by a 16year old in flip-flops, we were delivered to our waiter, who, after serving our meals, never asked how our meals were, never dimmed the lights over our heads (although we had asked repeatedly), & never asked if we would like dessert. He only returned with our bill.....
This restaurant has such amazing potential. Great location, food & ambiance, unfortunately management is staffing this establishment with immature & contemptuous floor personnel. Let's face it... when your 'hostess' who is supposed to make you feel like you're 'welcomed' when you arrive & appreciated, leave you feeling like we were 'disturbing' her & all you want to do is leave... is not a good start, & you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. I've tried giving this restaurant many chances over the years but their staff keep blowing it.

Food is ok, very poor service. We told the manager & nothing was done. Never going back there & will be a pleasure to tell everyone the same thing. Do not go there.

Food was good. Service was fantastic. A
waiter comes very often to check on you if everything
is okay or do you need something else. We were treated very
well & one thing i would always come back for is that
MUSSEL THINGY appetizer which I & my bf enjoyed the
most. My gosh. It was very delicious! Carbonara is
very creamy. They are not cheap in giving me those
perfect saucy flavor on my dish. My bf had a pizza.
Very home-made & baked well til the crust. Price was
reasonable enough. Definitely a must-try place. Thumbs up!

After hearing recommendations from friends, I recently ordered family meals when entertaining twice from Scarolies. Both times, there were complications with my order. The first time, I sent my hubby to pick up the order which I had made a day in advance & they seemed not to have it. Eventually, after a 45 minute delay, the food was "found" & given to my husband who arrived late with the food.

The second time, I placed the order a few hours in advance. When my hubby went to pick it up, they not only gave him the WRONG FOOD ORDER but charged him over twice the price!! When he had arrived with the food, I saw it was not a correct order but not wanting to disrupt our guests by sending him back to fix it, we ate the food. Only after, did I find out that despite it being a very PLAIN spaghetti & meatballs, that it had cost over twice what I had ordered...

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with what seems to be a disorganized organization in terms of their take-out orders. However, they do make a mean, juicy roasted chicken...

Honnêtement la nourriture est excellente par contre faite attention aux serveuses quand est venue le temps de payer elle demande si on vx donner un pourboire & la on dit oui le problème c'est quelle l'a rajouté elle même sans même qu'on voit combien elle avait mis. Elle avait mis un mis un pourboire plus élevés. on ne lui a pas fait de problème mais elle a vrm une mauvaise réputation puisqu'a cause d'elle on ne retournera plus jamais dans ce restaurant.
