Afficher tout pasta(98) italian(80) recommend(60) sauce(43) family(39) baguette(35) salad(34) fresh(30) dishes(28) generous(26) quality(26) bread(24)This restaurant is just ok. The place is super loud, the drinks were absolutely awful, the so called'martini' tasted like juice & the mixed drinks were terribly made. The best thing I ate was actually the baguette. The salad lettuce was cut into huge pieces, the calamari & the sauce it came with were quite bland. Our main courses were mostly good (pizza, several pastas, chicken), the salmon dish was a bit bland, the chicken with cream sauce & cranberry came with pasta with tomato sauce which was an odd combination. Desserts were pretty good also. The service was great & I appreciated that they packed our leftovers for us unlike many restaurants that just give you a box.
Scarolies is a well-liked Italian restaurant known for generous portions, one of the. Est in point Clair , hearty pasta dishes, & classic comfort food - perfect for families, groups, or a relaxed dinner. You start with fresh warm bread served at the start & a varied menu with plenty of choices from seafood pastas to parmigiana & Italian salads.
We came for early dinner for father in laws 84th birthday. The food was incredible (seafood stuffed pasta in lobster sauce #3 omg). We were also blown away by the service, like something from another era that is so rare these days. Our waitress knew what was needed before we did; a 6th sense - what a gift! Thank you for making us feel so welcome & truly taken care of at every moment. We will be back!
Scarolies have been our go-to Italian restaurant for almost a decade now, their food is above average & what really impressed me is their consistency with the food's taste & quality.
I don't order here often these days (GG inflation), maybe once every quarter now, but when I do we always get their fried calamari, seafood pasta & their lamb chops. You can't go wrong with those.
Edit: The owner swiftly took care of every single issue. I found it odd that a restaurant that uses top quality ingredients would have certain deficiencies. If I were to choose a restaurant that guarantees satisfaction, this would be my TOP choice. The owner (Alex) stands by his reputation. If you, as a customer have a problem with the food or service, simply tell the waitress or waiter if they forget to ask.
Our table all had very beautiful presentations, & most people had enough leftovers for a second supper. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Surprisingly, I had some issues that shouldn't have been ignored. The minestrone soup was very bland, & the zucchini entrée was not evenly sliced leaving some pieces undercooked. My Italian salad had the lettuce I love, sadly I didn't order dressing on the side. It was soaked a bit too much. The worst part was the shaved carrots were MUSTY & my mostly untouched salad was cleared by the waitress without even asking why I gave up on it so soon. My shrimp pasta was another disappointment. It tasted fine, but there was so much rich heavy creamy sauce it was sickening after half the plate. I did note that other tables were eating up their mooshy pasta plates quite happily.
The high points are the incredible croutons & above average tasting water (maybe its filtered) If it wasnt for the musty carrots I may have actually enjoyed this place a bit more.
Love the pasta there. When you take out pasta they give you a full warm baguette. Very good Italian restaurant in the West Island.
I discovered this charming Italian restaurant while searching for new places to try-I'm a big fan of tasting foods from different cultures. The welcome was warm, & the staff guided us to our table right away. While we looked over the menu, they brought fresh baguette with olive oil & balsamic vinegar as a small appetizer-simple but lovely.
We ordered one pasta & one pizza. The pasta was excellent-rich, balanced, & exactly what I'll come back for next time. The pizza was good, a touch above average in flavor & texture; I'd rate it 4/5. Service throughout the evening was attentive & friendly, & I really liked the atmosphere & decor-cozy without feeling cramped.
Overall, a great spot for pasta lovers, solid pizza, & warm service. I'm definitely returning.
The food is amazing & plentiful. This is my grand-daughetrs favourite restaurant, she just loves the food. Service is excellent & great choices of pasta & other Italian dishes
The pasta was absolutely amazing-probably the best I've ever had. The staff were very kind & polite, which made the experience even better. I really enjoyed this restaurant & will definitely be coming back.
I tried both pizza & pasta, both were awful. Pizza style was like costco
Black cod was good with excellent shrimps, pasta with sea food, steak brevette quite good in yummy sauce & asparagus. Meatballs were good, with salads etc... service was excellent & sitting out in a beautiful summer night what could be worse.
Aquí puedes comer una excelente pasta… las raciones son generosas pero les doy el dato que rinde más aún cuando pides para llevar. Te dan tu ración de queso parmesano y el pan.
The food is delicious, sea food pasta is highly recommended. The restaurant manager Mr. George was so welcoming & provided us with table overlooking the Main Street. Our waiter Mr. Yannes provided us with incredible 5 star service. Parking is available. Don't miss this Italian restaurant when you're travelling to Montreal Canada.
We've been to Scarolies Pasta Emporium several times, & it's always a solid experience. A word of advice: make a reservation. It gets very crowded, & walking in without one might leave you without a table.
One of the best parts of dining here is the warm baguette they serve as soon as you sit down. It comes with olive oil & balsamic vinegar for dipping, & you can always ask for a refill. It's not the best baguette I've ever had, but it's genuinely good & a great way to start the meal.
This time, we had two soups: the soup of the day (vegetarian) & the chicken noodle. Both were decent; nothing extraordinary, but satisfying.
For mains, we ordered a few pasta dishes: one with shrimp, one with lobster, & a lamb dish. The pasta was very good: the sauces were flavorful & well-balanced, & the pasta itself wasn't overcooked. I especially appreciated the generous offering of fresh black pepper & cheese, you can always ask for more.
The lamb was also good. We had two lamb plates, & the flavor varied slightly between them-sometimes more mild, sometimes richer. The only small downside was that the sauce on one was a bit too salty, possibly from the black pepper & salt combo.
Overall, the food is consistently good, the service is friendly, & the little touches (like the baguette & fresh cheese/pepper) make it a place worth coming back to. We'll definitely be returning!
This place doesn't need a review. This is one of the places you go in the West Island when you feel like eating pasta.
Service & staff are amazing.
Love the fact that the food comes out steamy hot & stays hot for a very long time.
Kids menu is also available if your child is 10yrs old & under. Easy & free access to parking.
Bon Appetito!
We heard about this restaurant from some of our coworkers from Montreal. Being from Halifax we do have a share of Italian restaurants but this was next level.
Our staff member was Kaila. She was absolutely amazing. Our whole family remarked how efficient, friendly, caring & timely she was. The restaurant was very busy while we were there & that usually means the staff doesn't have the time to attend the tables as often. Not the case here. Kaila was there for us the whole time within minutes to check how we were doing.
So that's the service, let's talk about food. Huge portions or fresh cooked apps & meals. You could tell the chefs & cooks take pride in the quality of food & presentation. I can say, for someone who has travelled to Italy, this was the best pasta I've ever had. Delicious! Can't wait to return. Thank you Kaila & cooking staff.
Very good food at decent prices with amazing complimentary baguettes freshly made in house & great service & atmosphere. Definitely recommend if ur into pastas 😊
Great place to have some good classic pasta. I had the pasta gigi, & the sauce was so filling that the one plate easily filled me up. Plus with the free unlimited bread makes it even better & able to scope up the remaining sauce with the bread. You can not leave this place without being filled to the rim.
Great Italian restaurant near Pierrefords.
Went on a Friday night around 6pm. Had two people with no reservation. Places was very busy, but the front of the house is rum so efficiently & the wait was only like 15 minutes. To sit down. Service was friendly & helpful.
Had a could drinks to start, Daquari & a Negroni, both were decent size & tasted good.
The waiter brought us a warm bread with some oil & balsamic on side to dip into.
The Ceasar Salad was excellent, the dressing was flavorful & creamy.
For mains we had a Roasted Rack of Lamb, & the linguini pasta in cream sauce with shrimp & mushrooms (Linguini con Gamberetti alla Brandy Rosa)
We were stuffed, but couldn't pass up dessert to go for later. A strawberry cake, & tiramisu.
Overall the food was done well & tasty. The service was great. Atmosphere was nice & lively. Would be great to bring large groups, saw a lot of larger tables of 6 or more there (obviously with reservations).
Would recommend & will be one of our go to options when in the area in future trips.
