Great place to have some good classic pasta. I had the pasta gigi, & the sauce was so filling that the one plate easily filled me up. Plus with the free unlimited bread makes it even better & able to scope up the remaining sauce with the bread. You can not leave this place without being filled to the rim.Voir plus

Great Italian restaurant near Pierrefords.
Went on a Friday night around 6pm. Had two people with no reservation. Places was very busy, but the front of the house is rum so efficiently & the wait was only like 15 minutes. To sit down. Service was friendly & helpful.
Had a could drinks to start, Daquari & a Negroni, both were decent size & tasted good.
The waiter brought us a warm bread with some oil & balsamic on side to dip into.
The Ceasar Salad was excellent, the dressing was flavorful & creamy.
For mains we had a Roasted Rack of Lamb, & the linguini pasta in cream sauce with shrimp & mushrooms (Linguini con Gamberetti alla Brandy Rosa)
We were stuffed, but couldn't pass up dessert to go for later. A strawberry cake, & tiramisu.
Overall the food was done well & tasty. The service was great. Atmosphere was nice & lively. Would be great to bring large groups, saw a lot of larger tables of 6 or more there (obviously with reservations).

I would advise against making a reservation for 8:30 PM if you want to fully enjoy your meal. My girlfriend & I decided to have dinner, & while the food was decent, the overall experience was overshadowed by our server's lack of warmth & attentiveness. From the moment we sat down, it felt like the only focus of the night was rushing us through our meal. The service felt incredibly rushed. Within minutes of sitting down, we were given bread & olive oil, & then immediately asked for our drink orders. We went with Sangria, which was served promptly, & within 10 minutes, our meals arrived. Unfortunately, my order was incorrect, & when I pointed it out, the waiter seemed surprised but did acknowledge the mistake after checking his notepad. What really stood out as annoying, though, was how frequently the waiter refilled our glasses-before we even had a chance to sip. & when we said we didn't want coffee or dessert, the check was dropped on the table almost immediately. The speed of the service was overwhelming, & honestly, it took away from what should've been a relaxing dinner. The one redeeming part of the night was when we were finished, & the waiter finally cracked a smile & became more pleasant. However, the rushed nature of everything else didn't really allow us to enjoy our time there as we had hoped. To be honest, after such a hurried & impersonal experience, I didn't even want to leave a tip.Voir plus

My family & I have visited eight countries, 30+ U.S. states, & countless restaurants around the world. Scarolies Pasta Emporium has been the most memorable experience thanks to their friendly staff who go the extra mile to their customers & their incredible food that I believe is the best Italian cuisine in the western hemisphere. We first went to Scarolies in the summer of 2023 & it was completely by fluke. It was late & they were getting ready to close but they sat us anyway (which is hard to come by in the U.S.) Our server was Indigo & we were immediately impressed by his captivating persona, literally by breaking bread. He executed expedient services, showed a genuine fondness of the job (including exploring opportunities in the U.S.), & was interested in getting to know us. We had the most memorable conversations with him that have stuck with us to this day. We decided to return to Canada the following summer, driving 9 hours to visit Montreal again with an intentional stop at Scarolies. Again, Indigo was our server & we couldn't of asked for a better experience. As for food, their bread is incredible - served hot & fresh with the full baguette! I highly recommend their fried calamari as an appetizer & the Penne alla Gigi for the main course.Voir plus

Scarolies Pasta Emporium is the « pasta place » of the west island. The prices are good & the portions are huge. Every table gets unlimited warm bread with olive oil & vinegar. Don't be shy to ask for cheese & pepper on your pasta, the waiters are super nice & won't hesitate to give you as much as you need! You can also add gratinated cheese on any pasta plate if you feel like your meal is not cheesy enough. The fried calamari & marinara sauce are also really good. Service & atmosphere is 5/5. Giving food 4/5 as I had better pasta, but this is still a good place & I would come back. This place is big group adn birthday friendlyVoir plus

They bring some baguette to start. Was hoping it would be great starter bread, but it was tasteless. I got a chicken Caesar salad. The portion was huge, but it didn't have bacon. I don't understand how they can make a Caesar salad & not have bacon. My girlfriend has a seafood salad. Again, huge portion. Was filled with calamari, smoked salmon & some shrimp stuff. Really tasty I'd still go back to try something else though.Voir plus

For lunch, we had a chicken Cesar salad & seafood salad. The cesar salad was missing bacon, & the chicken was unfortunately dry. There was a bit too much sauce, although it was very tasty with freshly grated parmesan on top. The seafood salad had a good portion of calamari, smoked salmon & shrimp. The calamari was perfectly cooked not rubbery at all but there was no additional sauce to dip it in. The salad was perfectly dressed with a light but delicious vinegarette. Both salads were enormous & we weren't able to eat more then half. They also bring a fresh baguette with oil & balsamic vinegar but the bread although very fresh, tasted plain & somewhat flavorless. The interior is VERY old but you can also day it adds to the charm. Service was super friendly & helpful. The price was good for the portions we got but it's not necessary to have such enormous portions for lunch.Voir plus

Been a while since I've been to an Italian restaurant as busy as this place, & a Wednesday no less. The atmosphere is loud, busy but fun. People laughing & having a great time that makes it feel like you're at a massive family dinner. The food was fantastic but be sure to come hungry, the portions are beyond most people's capacity to finish. The bread is fresh & the drinks are cold. Be prepared to wait a bit if it's busy but worth the wait. Highly recommendedVoir plus

The food is very good.The pasta dishes in general are excellent.If you don't have time to cook a meat sauce,I would recommend ordering a litre of meat sauce to go for fourteen dollars.The sauce is heated & they throw in a warm crusty bread for free.Much appreciated!!The ladies when you come in give five star service.Plenty of parking.my opinion go for it,good quality, great prices.Voir plus

An institution. I went back for the first time in probably 15 years & they still make amazing pasta. The price is extremely reasonable considering they bring you all you can eat bread with olive oil & balsamic. The pasta portions are huge & the cocktails are not bad at all. Service was great. The food was good but nothing exceptional; their portions are very generous. Lunch menu has lots of different options to suit everyone's craving. The pasta dish with rose sauce that I had was a bit bland, pasta was missing a bit of salt. The restaurant itself requires a major update; the chair cushions are so flat & thin that they are useless, as well the material is threadbare. The chairs are low & the tables high, making it a bit uncomfortable while sitting there for the meal. The menus are frayed & look like they've been there as long as the cushions. The concept of having a whole loaf of bread on the table needs to go, a bit excessive & irritating to have to cut it up, which in turn makes a huge mess on the table.Voir plus

I've dine here a few years ago & the experience was pleasant, food was delicious. Love the variety & ambiance. I think few restaurants nowadays have that inviting, comforting feel & decor. Many new restaurants have rather minimalistic, cold, straight & boring modern decor. Scarolies kind of has that old charm italian garden, complete with waterfall & plants/vines. My most recent experience was on Saturday March 9, 2024 around 1pm. I ordered take out, just one plate of spaghetti carbonara. The restaurant was moderately busy but they were able to prepare my order quickly while I waited near the entrance - there are comfortable seats & enough room to wait. Very surprised that I got a whole complimentary baguette bread to take home & the portion size for my pasta was huge. Honestly so impressed with this meal! For the price, around 25$ + tax, it was well worth it, as it was enough food to feed at least 3 or 4 people. The hot & fresh bread is such as a nice touch. Would definitely recommend this place for comforting & delicious italian food - even the take out container was a good reusable plastic, no spillage or leaking, everything was so well prepared, it was amazing.Voir plus

The atmosphere is amazing, fun, & very Italian! The decor is themed according to Italian food. The staff is very cordial & friendly. Very good wines, entrees...OMG That bread with olive oil is to die for! Amazing food, very savory! Also, the desserts are delicious! We went with a big group of friends, & we shared the same opinion. Had an amazing experience! Loved the warm fresh bread with dipping oil to start the meal. Ordered meatballs for an appetizer, they were so tender & the red sauce was out of this world. I have ordered out from Scarolie's many times & they never disappoint. This time around I dined in. It was a Friday night & the atmosphere was fantastic. We had a group reservation, I arrived fashionably late lol. Got seated right away & appetizers were already rolling. The bread needed a little more time in the oven. I had fried calamari which was crunchy & delicious. It came with spicy mayo 🤩 I chose the clam chowder soup which was yummy. My main meal was the rack of lamb which I have never tried here before. It was cooked to perfection with a mushroom sauce. The Nutella cheesecake with the espresso & biscuit were heavenly. Indeed, I had indulged. The service was amazing & the staff were very attentive to our needs. A very positive experience that I would definitely repeat.Voir plus

Scarolie's value is hard to beat - the food is consistently good & reasonably priced. Service is great. IF you are looking for a romantic spot, this is probably a little noisy as its so popular. Lamb rack is amazing, lamb chops also delicious, seafood pasta is full of seafood, plenty of salads & vegetables, fresh baked bread - portions are generous. When you want decent food & a good ambiance without breaking the bank, this is a good choice!
