We heard about this restaurant from some of our coworkers from Montreal. Being from Halifax we do have a share of Italian restaurants but this was next level.
Our staff member was Kaila. She was absolutely amazing. Our whole family remarked how efficient, friendly, caring & timely she was. The restaurant was very busy while we were there & that usually means the staff doesn't have the time to attend the tables as often. Not the case here. Kaila was there for us the whole time within minutes to check how we were doing.
So that's the service, let's talk about food. Huge portions or fresh cooked apps & meals. You could tell the chefs & cooks take pride in the quality of food & presentation. I can say, for someone who has travelled to Italy, this was the best pasta I've ever had. Delicious! Can't wait to return. Thank you Kaila & cooking staff.Voir plus

Excellent service by Sam. Very pleasant & a consummate'Pro'! We had a great experience! The food was fresh, delicious, generous portions, reasonably priced & cooked to perfection. We ordered the chicken parmigiana & the pollo Calabrese. Thee es chocolate cake was also yummy!

Scarolies is everything I hope to have in a dining experience- attentive & knowledgeable service, excellent food & reasonable prices. It's clear the staff is in great communication, operations always seem seamless. It's a small detail but the traditional shirt & tie the waiters wear is refreshing to see- the employees there really seem to take pride in their work.
My husband is Italian & usually avoids Italian restaurants because the food is never as good as what he grew up with. However he loves the food here & felt immediately at ease seeing the traditional Italian decor.
I'd like to also give a special thank you to the staff tonight. I misspoke & accidently ordered the wrong kind of pizza. I felt really bad but the waiter, chef & owner/manager were so gracious about it. It meant a lot & I was also impressed with my waiter who, despite being new, was so personable, timely & professional!
Lastly, this is also a very family-friendly establishment! I have 3 young kids, one of whom is virtually allergic to restaurants right now, so it can be a bit intimidating going to a nice place like this. However we felt very welcome & everyone was very accommodating.

My all-time favourite restaurant. It has been our go to for many a family meal since it's opening. Consistently delicious & affordable meals. You are in for a delicious meal & possibly a to go container as their portions are generous. Never disappointing. Family size take out meals are absolutely amazing & make for a great weeknight break from cooking. For us, eating at Scarolies is like coming home...warm welcoming & delicious.Voir plus

Had supper this evening with family. Sunday evening seems to always be busy.Food was great & portions are large.I always have leftover to take home.Our waiter Jimmy was very efficient & friendly.He gave us great service & a nice piece of chocolate cake just because he forgot my drink .We had a few laughs joking around with him.He was very gracious when we said we wanted to put him in our review.Thanks Jimmy for being such a pleasant waiter.Voir plus

My family & I went here for the first time. We were told we had to wait at least an hour without reservation, but it took less than 30 mins til we got seated. We were served by a wonderful waitress (didn't get her name but she's 5'6-5'7ish with glasses). Despite being busy with the other tables, she was very communicative & tended to our needs. The food was really good & the restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely come back again in the near future but with my friends 😁Voir plus

My family & I have visited eight countries, 30+ U.S. states, & countless restaurants around the world. Scarolies Pasta Emporium has been the most memorable experience thanks to their friendly staff who go the extra mile to their customers & their incredible food that I believe is the best Italian cuisine in the western hemisphere. We first went to Scarolies in the summer of 2023 & it was completely by fluke. It was late & they were getting ready to close but they sat us anyway (which is hard to come by in the U.S.) Our server was Indigo & we were immediately impressed by his captivating persona, literally by breaking bread. He executed expedient services, showed a genuine fondness of the job (including exploring opportunities in the U.S.), & was interested in getting to know us. We had the most memorable conversations with him that have stuck with us to this day. We decided to return to Canada the following summer, driving 9 hours to visit Montreal again with an intentional stop at Scarolies. Again, Indigo was our server & we couldn't of asked for a better experience. As for food, their bread is incredible - served hot & fresh with the full baguette! I highly recommend their fried calamari as an appetizer & the Penne alla Gigi for the main course.Voir plus

Been a while since I've been to an Italian restaurant as busy as this place, & a Wednesday no less. The atmosphere is loud, busy but fun. People laughing & having a great time that makes it feel like you're at a massive family dinner. The food was fantastic but be sure to come hungry, the portions are beyond most people's capacity to finish. The bread is fresh & the drinks are cold. The restaurant is somewhat noisy so it is hard to chat with friends & family in the dining room. Regarding food, they are usually good in general. However, this time, the avocados had turned bad & tasted weird. Even the waiter replaced with another plate but they were still having the same issue. If the whole batch is like that, they should not even served them to customers. Ended up I did not eat the avocados to risk my health; in turn, the $17.5 x2 (We ordered two times the avocado dish from the "antipasta" menu) were a waste. There was no compensation or offer of replacing these appetizers with something else.Voir plus

This place has now become a go to place for my family & I when we get together. The food is phenomenal & the staff is amazing. I usually go for the 18oz t-bone however the pasta is just as good. I wish I took quality photos as I typically do but I guess I will next time i come by! Huge shout out to Jimmy, Joe, & Elisa who made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. I always say the food gets you 4 stars but the customer service makes it a five. Thanks again Jimmy! Cant wait to come back here!Voir plus

I was having a late lunch on Sunday & was super confused, a woman in the back of the restaurant seemed to be screaming frantically in greek to a young boy & then to one of their wait staff.
Being & understanding greek, this made me & my family super uncomfortable & wanted to up & leave right away. She was actually harassing both the boy & the waitress. How can they treat their staff with such disgust? The waitress seemed utterly shocked.
I have 0 respect for how this restaurant being run.
The way they treat & harass their staff makes it super uncomfortable to enjoy time spent with my family.

Love this place! Best pasta restaurant in Montreal that I've tried. We do takeout from here often. The tortellini GiGi is always a family favorite. The chicken parm is great. I will be coming back for years to come!!!

After hearing recommendations from friends, I recently ordered family meals when entertaining twice from Scarolies. Both times, there were complications with my order. The first time, I sent my hubby to pick up the order which I had made a day in advance & they seemed not to have it. Eventually, after a 45 minute delay, the food was "found" & given to my husband who arrived late with the food.
The second time, I placed the order a few hours in advance. When my hubby went to pick it up, they not only gave him the WRONG FOOD ORDER but charged him over twice the price!! When he had arrived with the food, I saw it was not a correct order but not wanting to disrupt our guests by sending him back to fix it, we ate the food. Only after, did I find out that despite it being a very PLAIN spaghetti & meatballs, that it had cost over twice what I had ordered...
Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with what seems to be a disorganized organization in terms of their take-out orders. However, they do make a mean, juicy roasted chicken...
