The beef rendang threw me right back to my Yogyakarta trip, the fried mushroom dish was actual heaven, service was very attentive, & the decor is wonderful. I can only recommend, & look forward to coming again :)
Had an incredible meal here. Server was welcoming & offered excellent recommendations from the all gluten-free menu. I had two small plates plus dessert & was absolutely stuffed. Chicken satay & pandan crème brûlée were highlights. This spot is best for smaller parties of 4 or less, & reservations recommended as it fills up quickly.
We truly enjoy dining at Satu Lagi whenever we are in Montreal. The authentic Indonesian cuisine is a major highlight, & the service is consistently excellent. My son particularly enjoys talking to Om Dana, who speaks Bahasa Indonesia, which makes our visits even more special.
We always make time to visit Satu Lagi to savor our favorite dishes. We love the ayam goreng & iga bakar, while my husband is a fan of the gudeg nangka. Our absolute favorite, however, is the Bebek Goreng, which is unfortunately not on the menu at the moment. We hope it will be available again soon.
Overall, Satu Lagi provides a delightful dining experience that keeps us coming back. It is highly recommended for anyone craving Indonesian food.
While staying in Montreal we decided for try Satu Lagi for dinner. First off, our server Zachery was very attentive & gave us a full run down off the menu & suggested some apps & mains. My partner is celiac & majority of the options on the menu were fully gluten free. They also use separate fryers & make sure they can accommodate the best they can! For our apps we got Brussels sprouts, the fried chicken, fried mushrooms & chicken skewers . For our mains we got veggies & rice which were amazing. It was little sweet for my liking but over all good. If you're in Montreal & have a gluten allergy Satu Lagi if definitely worth trying out. Good for a date night but also for lunch. We didn't get any drinks but the bar seating & bar look fully stocked & the drinks looked great! Will definitely recommend this to friends who visit Montreal & need a dinner/lunch spot!
Good place to eat, the food was very good, vegetarians options & gluten free. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Went there for MTL à table & it was one the best culinary experience i had, the presentation & flavors were amazing. Cute little restaurant, loved the vibe & service was great. Highly recommend
Great indo/malaysian resto... not many of those in the city. Great food, great service highly recommend
I'm Indonesian from Vancouver, & i would say this is the best Indonesia-Malaysia restaurant in Canada. The taste & the vibe just like home. Would really recommended for Indonesian who come to Montreal to try this restaurant. Try their ibu-ibu cocktail!
Food is excellent, highly recommend! Service was not the best but worth the experience for the food - server didn't know the menu well & didn't get our order correct, but we still had a great meal. Some of the food did come out lukewarm but on a hot summer day this was fine for us.
Great service & lovely terrace & interior design. However the food, for the brunch menu, was slightly uninspiring. Flavours were good, however some items were a miss. The Kaya Toast & eggs was just a piece of toast with a sweet spread & a poached egg. I wouldn't recommend. Stays were definitely a hit.
the food is so unique & amazing! it's a wonderful & refreshing experience to try Indonesian/Malaysian cuisine that isn't as popular like other parts of Asia's culinary game. i highly recommend the sambals, beef rendang, fried fish, jackfruit stew, the fried chicken with fermented honey, pandan crême brûlée & the pandan drink is delightful! do be prepared as Indo/Malay cooking is spicyyy!!! otherwise, the chefs really have the flavour profile down - coconut, galangal, lime, chilis, tamarind, etc. the staff & service is always great too :)
Satu Lagi is not only tastes authentic, but also the chili in the store is absolutely so refreshing! Definitely a paradise for spicy lovers! The business during meal time is very busy,& the exotic flavor allows you to arrive in Indonesia in one second without having to go abroad. Each kind of chili sauce has a different flavor, so I recommend you try some of them, It's very mouth-watering when mixed with vegetables & rice, but it's really super spicy. The spiciness in Indonesia is mild at first, & it doesn't feel too spicy, even a little sweet, but after a while, the aftertaste will make people sweat...be careful! Rendang beef tastes a bit like curry beef. It can be said to be a super special dish in Indonesia, the beef is chunky & delicious. The fried duck legs are deep-fried until they are very, very crispy. It can be said that there is no gravy, but some of the fat & the duck skin taste particularly oily. It is delicious when paired with onion sauce & the turmeric rice!
Conveniently located in the heart of the Plateau, we discovered the restaurant via Instagram. We did not know a reservation was necessary for brunch, so we just showed up. The server was nice enough to offer us to sit at the bar which was fine since we got to see the barmaid do her magic with the exotic drinks. The food is good, however we did not expected it to be spicy... although we asked our server, our main dishes were too spicy. We recommend you either make sure you can handle very spicy food or request the kitchen to go easy on the hot peppers! Overall a nice experience & it is worth a detour if you don't mind spicy food.
The food was delicious, particularly the fried mushrooms, it was like a flavour explosion, so unique. Everything was really good, but I did think that for what it was, it was a bit pricey, compared to similar places I've been to. Still a unique & delightful dining experience I would highly recommend.
Without pretensions, From cocktails to desserts, It was the most exquisite culinary experience. Every single bite was more delectable than the next. The dished were packed with fresh ingredients, carefully crafted to make every bite heavenly. I cannot wait to return & i absolutely recommend this restaurant/experience!
Incredibly unique & tasty menu. We had a table of 5 & everything was shared. The plates were thoughtfully portioned for the 5 of us, & it was easy to pass around. The assorted sambal flight was a nice variety of flavours to test & to dip other satay or bites in. Ranged from spicy, to earthy, to slightly sweet. The fried mushrooms were fried to perfection, meaty & savoury. The satay had a nice char & super easy to eat. Scallop & calamari flavourful & clean. So much I could say. Service was also very friendly & accommodating of a rush we were in to head to a concert. Would highly recommend & I would be back in an instant when visiting Montreal.
très bon, resto un peu bruyant. Je trouve ça dommage de nous faire recommander une assiette de chips avec nos cocktails, qui coûte finalement 16$... pour des chips. Demander le prix pour ne pas être étonné à la fin du repas.
This restaurant offers very good food that is gluten free & dairy free. The environment is very nice & cozy. Recommended
I highly recommend Satu Lagi. The food & drinks are incredible & the service is impeccable. You won't regret it, trust me!
