Amazing dining experience! The food, drinks, & atmosphere were outstanding. I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to give a special shout-out to Oliver, one of the managers, & Stephanie, one of the hostesses, for their exceptional hospitality. One of my favourite place in Montreal, I visit everytime if I have friends or family from outside of Mtl here, it means a lot!
One thing that I was unhappy was there is quite many flies in the restaurant … we were quite bothered by them.. kept trying to fly them away so couldn't focus on delicious meal..I know in the summer time it's inevitable but hope it can be a little better so guest can enjoy food 100% hereVoir plus

We ate from the brasserie menu-what a delicious meal with perfectly timed, attentive service. We had the bone marrow, which was easily the best bite of our trip to Montréal (best bite of food I've had this year), & I had the duck, which was so savory & crispy & tender. My husband had the swordfish special, which was lovely, but we agreed that my duck was the clear winner. We split a mille feuille for dessert, which ticked all the boxes that a dessert should! The restaurant space is beautiful & I would love to go back & try the full tasting menu/sit in front of the window into the kitchen.Voir plus

What a wonderful meal we had at Monarque.
Although the menu seems limited everything was excellent. The service was exceptional (thank you Sam). The only comment I would add is that when the servers bring your food, they should explain all of the unique components of the dish. This was the only point lacking.

Exceptional food & service. Interesting menu. Bison & rabbit were a hit. Got a chocolate hazelnut cake for my birthday which was beautiful & tasty. Great option for a special event. There's a private room downstairs, but it loses the vibe being down there.Voir plus

Our experience started started strange & unpleasant: we came in just in time for our reservation & had to wait for almost 10 minutes for the hostess. She was on a phone the whole time, actually being quite rude to the phone guest, figuring out the reservation 2 months from now - while we just stood in front of her. When she finally decided to put her call on hold she didn't even apologize or acknowledge our long useless wait. Alright…
Then we waited for drinks for 30 minutes - our first app was served before our cocktails. Just because they didn't see them on the bar - they stood there melting for 20 minutes. Barely an apology here as well.
Food, however, compensated for this - great steak tartare, lovely octopus & desserts were amazing.
I really liked the food & the atmosphere of the restaurant, so I hope the service mishaps were a one time thing but it was still unacceptable for a restaurant of this level.Voir plus
