My boyfriend & I loved this restaurant. Their drinks were really creative & delicious. They were also reasonably priced. We had the French onion soup & snails as an appetizer, & then tried the duck & the lamb for our mains. Everything was delicious & fresh. I had the raspberry sorbet as a dessert & my boyfriend had a chocolate mousse cake. The service was good & our server even took the time to write a list of other restaurants he recommended in downtown & old Montreal for us to visit during our trip. The restaurant was very cosy & they even had live music playing. It wasn't too loud & we would highly recommend this place for your next date spot.
Everything was great except it was so loud. I'm a 26 year old woman & my ears were ringing. The jazz band compounded with the table behind us. My ears were in pain. We were downstairs too, further from the band. I had the lamb chop & profiterole with a latte. Absolutely wonderful. You'll get a great dinner but not a quiet one !
Avec un foyer qui nous réchauffait autant le corps que le coeur, notre hôte nous a offert un service impeccable. Recommandé, nous avons choisi le contre-filet garni avec une sauce délectable & des légumes cuits à la perfection ; Nous n'avons pas été déçu. Le prix étant quand même raisonnable, nous avons choisi un vin à 65$ qui est parmi les moins chère de la carte. J'y retournerais sans hésiter pour goûter un des mets de la spécialité, l'agneau, & pour vivre l'ambiance avec les musiciens qui n'étaient toujours pas présent si tôt un lundi.
BEST rack of lamb I've ever had..!!!! The poutine used to be incredible, but they changed the gravy to a different style sauce so it's not the best anymore. The chocolate pyramid dessert was AMAZING!! A must get!!

Amazing lamb dinner in inviting decor. Best lamb chops I've had in a long time, marinade was delicious with rosemary, olive oil & slight tang of lemon. Vegetable accompaniment was perfect. Just the right portion size to have dessert & not feel too full. We went early with our toddler & they had a high chair available.
Un resto à découvrir pour l'ambiance & le bon service. Par contre la nouriture ne nous a pas impressionnée. La soupe à l'oignon sans gout particulier & le confit de canard beaucoup trop sec. Le groupe jazz était vraiment bien.
Honest review. For the price this restaurant is excellent. The service is great, the atmosphere excellent. If you get there on the earlier side it is kid friendly. I had the rack of lamb & I was hesitant when my waiter mentioned it was a lamb & red wine reduction & mint. Mint is used & overused on lamb & I've seen it overpower many a delicious meal. However, it was subtle to perfection. Just the hint of mint which added just a little clear bite to the deliciousness of the red wine reduction & the crispness of the charred herb. A delightful experience all around.
Je suis allée pour le party de Noël de mon travail, le personnel est superbe, très sympathique. Notre verre n'était jamais vide & la nourriture était excellente & que dire du fondant au chocolat, il était délicieux ! Bel ambiance aussi, belle place à découvrir.

Vraiment, on mange bien ici. A lovely place. Lamb was excellent. Service was warm & friendly. Wines & cocktails all added to an excellent time, in a very fine restaurant.
Food was very disappointing. We chose the place based on location, thinking you couldn't possibly mess up Steak Frites, but those & the mussels were mediocre. Beef tartare & lamb pasta were good.
Modavie est un restaurant rempli de charme. A la fois calme, l'ambiance est chaleureuse & la musique très plaisante. Les plats étaient super bons, ça faisait longtemps qu'on avait mangé un plat aussi bon dans un restaurant. Patrice, notre serveur a rendu notre expérience encore meilleure par sa sympathie & son sens de l'humour incroyable:) Merci pour un super service!
All I can say is incredible place. The food is immaculate. The Best French onion soup I've ever had. Their Lamb Rack was pure perfection. Ambiance was pleasant. Music was great, & also.. Had the pleasure of seeing a certain celeb from the Jacka** series enjoy the place! I'f you're newly local or visiting, you have to take the time to treat yourself to this fine digs. Service is prompt, polite, & also down to earth. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely place for date night! We went for a girls dinner as we were visiting for The Weeknd. The team is so accommodating & the food was delicious. We got the lamb shank as they're known for it. Sooooo good. Also the cheesecake was 10/10- The jazz bands adds something special upstairs. Make sure to request to sit near the music because the restaurant is big.
Nous avions eu de très bonnes soirées au Modavie par le passé & étions heureux d'y retourner, cette fois nous étions assis en haut, l'atmosphère la musique & le service sont impeccables, bien que l'excellente musique live nous a paru un peu forte par moment. La morue était généreuse mais trop cuite & accompagnée d'une sauce trop riche. Bien que le repas n'est pas été à la hauteur de nos précédentes visites, le charme du restaurant demeure intact & l'ambiance y est agréable.
