What did the RestoMontréal team discover in May 2026?

May in Montréal came with its usual mix of moods: bursts of sunshine, a few rainy interludes, and just enough warmth to officially bring terrace season back to life. But even on the greyest days, the city never really slows down.

This month was defined by contrast in the best way, sunny weekends spent outdoors, lively restaurant openings and events, and cozy indoor escapes when the weather didn't cooperate. Whether it was a neighbourhood favourite, a hotel terrace, or a one-night-only culinary experience, each visit captured a different side of the city's ever-evolving food scene.

As always, our outings are a team effort. Chandni captures each visit through storytelling and visuals across our platforms, while Dalia focuses on the hospitality, service, and on-camera moments that bring each experience to life. Together, they highlight not just the food, but the atmosphere and people behind each concept.

Carpineto wine tasting

Date: May 01, 2026

May began on a high note for Dalia with a Carpineto wine tasting at Jacopo, where guests had the opportunity to discover several cuvées from this renowned Tuscan estate. From the start, the sparkling Farnito Rosé set the tone, an instant favourite that quickly sparked conversation around the table, particularly about its upcoming arrival at the SAQ. The meal, served family-style, was carefully designed to pair with each wine, presented by Antonio Zaccheo, son of the estate's co-founder, who shared the history and philosophy behind Carpineto. Among the highlights, Dalia especially enjoyed the fresh Valcolomba white and the Brunello di Montalcino, which was particularly impressive at the end of the meal alongside the cheese course. These wines stood out and captured attention. It was an experience that was both generous, convivial, and full of discoveries.
