Cuisine très goûteuse, beaux mariages de saveurs, service agréable & discret. L'ambiance du restaurant est feutrée & intime, parfaite pour un repas en solo ou en couple.
Overall, this is a very good restaurant, however something must have gone awry in the kitchen on my visit. I had a business lunch & it was noted that the service was outstanding & the atmosphere great. No complaints at all. Further to that, the beef tartare I ordered was exquisite.
Now, I ordered the trout as the main course. The presentation looked a little sad. However what struck me the most is the utterly bitter flavour of the fish. It was really strong & really unpleasant to eat. It wasn't lemon, it wasn't pepper - it was just bitter for whatever reason. Under normal circumstances I would have sent it back. Due to the company I was with - I just finished eating it without a fuss.
I do hope that the chef takes note of this issue & the trout gets investigated. A small note: perhaps the butter could be served just a tad softer. 3.7 stars for this visit.
On the 3rd floor.
Very pretty, cozy place.
Food was great.
Service was a tiny bit slow, but that was fine as it gave us the time to enjoy our evening a bit more.
Too much of the same flavours & a lot of uninspiring brown colours. Had the'Saint-Constant' as an entree, it was ok but a lot of the same flavour even shared between two people. We didn't finish it. It needed another flavour for some contrast & maybe a textural element. It also needed some green herbs as a visual element to break up the brown on brown. As a main I made the unfortunate choice of having the'Capitale Nationale' which was even more brown on brown. Same comments as the entree. At a lower price point this would maybe have been forgivable, but the food was expensive & needs some refinement to be worth the prices they are charging.
Service was average. We were disappointed that the cheese poutine did not make squish-squish; however the server was convinced that the cheese was as fresh as the day. We threw off the server when we asked for a bottle recommendation, perhaps he is used to people ordering by the glass. I ended up asking for the Gamay. Food was OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Fairly priced. A lot of emphasis on vegetarian ingredients. Not bad per se but a'touche' was missing in all the plates. The tartare de cerf was the best of the night. A place for 5 à 7 drinks, people who go to see shows at the Place-des-Arts, & business folk. Periodt.

The server was kind & endearing. The menu descriptions were not accurate & need to be more clear. Tuna tartare was excellent. Poutine: one of the poorest examples of poutine I've had (gravy tasted like knorr bouillon & was cold, thick & clumpy). Scallops with risotto was mediocre as the chorizo dominated the dish.

I ate in a bubble in the winter ($$$). The setting inside the restaurant was beautiful, while the bubble could be better furnished. The food was unimpressive, I was only a fan of the cured fish, & none of the wine pairings brought anything to life. Usually I find a good wine pairing to be magical. The service was friendly but really lacked refinement. I wouldn't splurge on the experience again since it fell short for me.

For my mother's birthday, I wanted her to have a special evening & a memorable experience; we dined outside on the terrace in the heated cube surrounded by the night lights. The food was excellent & prepared with love, the service excellent, we were not rushed. It was a very comfortable, warm atmosphere. Thank you, Mikael & our chef!
We had a lovely time having dinner here, during the holidays, with our two kids. Our server Claude was very knowledgeable about the food, drinks & wines, he guided us perfectly. The staff all seems to work as a team & cared for presentation & service. It was a little hard for me to find, there is an elevator bank in the mall, that goes to the hotel... that is how you get there. But when we arrived we were greeted fantasticly by the kind host, & she took our coats then seated us promptly. We are glad to have dined here, thank you.
Excellent experience way over expectations for a restaurant at the Double Tree by Hilton in Montréal. Phenomenally original high quality dishes & wine pairing. Beautiful interior architecture & service that paces the amazing food & wine. We shall return. Merci a toute l'équipe Restaurant Bivouac Montréal
