Here, the objective is simple: to introduce guests to a whole new world of tastes and sensations. Taking advantage of the best that the Quebec region and its artisans have to offer.
Bivouac is where guests can get away from the chaos of city life to explore, share and enjoy the quintessence of our nature, all during a meal.
Our Specialties
Oyster bar, Cold meats platter, Cheese platter, Salmon gravlax, Deer tataki, Smoked bison carpaccio, French rack of piglet, Duck breast, Seared cod fillet, Homemade desserts, House cocktails & Private import wine.
Located in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on the 6th floor of Complexe Desjardins.
In summer, the Bivouac Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city and is perfectly located to enjoy the lively Place des Festivals. In winter, the Refuges du Bivouac offer to set up a camp for an evening under a beautifully decorated and heated dome that can accommodate up to 10 people, in the heart of the entertainment district.
Guests describe Bivouac as a refined and welcoming destination where service is consistently attentive and the cuisine feels inventive and generously portioned. The setting ranges from elegant indoor dining to magical winter bubbles and a terrace that glows under night lights. Dishes are praised for their presentation and quality, with standout seafood and well crafted wine pairings, though some reviewers note room for more variety in the wine by the glass. The staff are commended for professionalism and thoughtful service that makes celebrations and pre show meals feel special, while a few comments mention higher prices and occasional noise. Overall, Bivouac comes across as a standout choice for memorable dinners, gatherings, and special occasions, offering a memorable combination of food, wine, and ambiance.
Enjoyed lunching at Bivouac ! We had the set menu for lunch which included an entry, main meal & dessert for a decent price & the food did not disappoint. The pouding chômeur is delicious

My friend & I had an incredibly disappointing experience Friday night, so much so that I have to believe it was purposeful due to the fact we're American or because we did not order alcohol. After our order was taken we didn't get a refill of water until after our app was delivered even though the cups were empty when it arrived. Our waitress passed us several times as did the manager in a suit, empty cups & not a second look in our direction. Once she cleared the appetizer plates we got a refill & she said our entrees would be up shortly.
In the restaurant the kitchen is in full view & our table had a prime viewing spot. We were sitting inside instead of on the terrace as we had walked through the city all day so our part of the restaurant was completely empty. That is why we were able to see our entrees put into the window by the chef who even took a photo of one of our dishes on his phone. Our plates then sat for well over 10 minutes as bussers, other servers, & the suited manager passed our food in the window. My friend & I just sat watching our food get dry & overly hot. The plates were so hot the she had to bring them with folded napkins, not a word of warning that they were dangerously hot. We ate what was still moist (they at least have good heat lamps I'll say that) & then sat with our silver on the table & napkins on our pate. The waitress passes us again & again (water cups empty while eating) & then strikes up a loud laughing conversation in front of us with the manager. Backs turned to as we still sit with napkins on plates food mostly un eaten & not a word from her the manager as to why. We had hoped to get dessert but it was so disheartening at this point we didn't feel welcome so we just left. We had hoped to have a nice dinner in a beautiful restaurant but left severely dejected :/
If you're an American coming to MTL to support our neighbor's economy please eat elsewhere! MTL is a food haven & there are so many other places to go.
Absolutely fantastic dinner. Staff is amazing & food was also amazing. The oysters were fresh, the appetizers & main dishes were very good (kudos to the octopus), the dessert was delightful. Wine was very good. They brought us fresh bread during our meal which was great & rare these days. The decor is also gorgeous.
This is a hidden gem in Montreal that a lot of people don't know about unless they are staying at this hotel.
Classy Hilton class dining. I would say the beef tartare was the best in Quebec. Unfortunately the dessert was a set back, while the mains - vegetarian & octopus were mediocre. Worth visiting.

The Steak is overcooked, & the service is not what we expected. After we finished the main course, we do not get any attention for over half an hour, or check with us if we want the dessert. I am very disappointed.
Great food, great attentive service. When they didn't have the alcohol my partner was looking for, they offered him several alternatives to taste test. We took the Montréal a table menu & we were overall very satisfied with our experience, especially the scallops, fish & desserts!

Very disappointed experience. I came to Bivouac with my family before a show at Place des Arts. I found the restaurant extremely loud with a very agitated atmosphere, where it's difficult to relax & have conversation. While dishes had a nice visual appeal, they lack the taste & refinement one would expect at this price tag. The salmon was clearly frozen & overcooked, while the apple dessert was tasteless. Service was efficient but lack a personal touch. Without naming them, some other restaurants in the aera are much better than Bivouac.
No BBQ ribs available for advertised BBQ Sundays. No oysters available. Flank steak substituted for ribs & server did not ask how how I wanted my steak cooked...although steak & sauce was tasty. Chicken. Beautiful restaurant with balcony/outdoor dining. Cost - $150, no liquor, no dessert. Disappointed overall with limited food choices at 5pm.

The food was wonderful, especially the locally recommended dessert. The bartender was very good & gave me lots of ideas to come back in June for the Montreal Jazz Festival.
