Incredible experience! The host was very personable, & our server was the best! He was very friendly & the service was immaculate, unfortunately I didn't catch his name but he was one of the best servers I've had in a long time, anywhere. The food is absolutely to die for & the wine was impeccable. The musicians were also incredible. Overall it was such a good evening & I will be sure to recommend this restaurant. We are certain to return the next time we are in Montreal.

We went on a Saturday for lunch, we had live jazz, amazing French food, great wine selection & amazing drinks! It is my go-to place in Montreal! I love Modavie!

From the greeting at the door to the last bite, the service was pleasant & professional. Our waiter Quentin was great. He was very busy but efficient, kind & professional. Food was well prepared & delicious. ( calamari, lamb cavitelli & lamb chops, paired with a nice wine & completed with cheesecake & chocolate mousse). Highly recommend.

Authentic bistro with outstanding food & service.
Very tight quarters, not for larger people. Interesting & attentive personnel/servers. Rather expensive, though reasonable if one limits wine/brandy/desserts. Recommended.

An unforgettable dining experience in Old Montreal! From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. The service was truly outstanding - attentive, personalized & genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire evening.

The food was absolutely incredible. The beef tartare was one of the best I've ever had, the French onion soup was rich, flavorful & perfectly prepared, the escargots were delicious, & the duck was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy & full of flavor.

Their wine selection is outstanding, with an impressive variety to complement every dish.

Beautiful atmosphere, impeccable service, & unforgettable food. This is the kind of restaurant that makes you want to return every time you're in Montreal. Highly recommended!!!

It's set in a nice old building & brasserie style

The food was 5 stars. this is Rich French food, not a light fare.

Green salad 4.5 stars

The moule & frite. Mussels were in a creamy white wine sauce. Portion very large satisfying 5 stars
The French fries were fresh perfect size for crispiness to inside ratio. 5 stars. Way too much. Super extra large

Duck confit roasted layered with spinach at bottom, then roasted potato wedges with duck leg quarter on top Topped with sliced roasted almonds. 5 stars

Stopped in for wine, cheese & charcuterie, & it was excellent. The cheese was local & exquisite. The pate was an absolute delight.

Stumbled in here by chance & it ended up being one of my favorite dining experiences in Montréal!

Service: exceptional

Food: I got the moules frites & it was incroyable. Sooooo many mussels & fries, I was stuffed. The sauce is so good too.

They have a great wine list as well & the staff will let you try any of them before committing (even if you are just ordering a glass).

Highly recommend if you want top notch service & food. Big portion sizes so come hungry!

I walked in solo without reservations at 4pm for Modavie's dinner service. They accommodated me easily with a cozy 2 top near a window, but let me know I'd have to be done within 2 hours.
The waiter was friendly, brought me table bread quickly & recommended a great glass of red wine that paired perfectly with my lamb chops.
The meal, the music & the service were all 10/10.
