Review Summary

Les Pyrenées offers a cozy, atmospheric spot in Old Montreal where Spanish and Catalan flavors come to life in a varied menu that includes seafood paella, tapas, vegetarian options, and generous portions paired with a thoughtful wine list. Reviewers consistently note warm hospitality and attentive, knowledgeable staff, with the vibe described as intimate yet lively and outdoor dining on nice nights is a plus. Many highlight dishes such as scallops, octopus, gazpacho, lamb, and especially paella, along with desserts and sauces that elevate the meal. While praised for quality and character, some visits feel expensive for the value and a few experiences mention slow service, order mixups, or meals arriving cold or underseasoned. Vegetarian and vegan options are a strength, with several diners appreciating the consideration for different diets. Reservations are recommended, especially during holidays or weekends, given the busy Old Port location. Overall, Les Pyrenées is seen as a strong French-Spanish fusion option in Montreal, delivering memorable meals and hospitality, even as consistency can vary between visits.

Unfortunately, our visit here was rather disappointing. We met some friends who came to visit & arrived a bit late so we chose to go to a restaurant next to their hotel. First & foremost, the food just didn't taste good. My soup was almost cold & the subsequent paella was dry in both meat & rice. Furthermore was the service quite unfriendly when we didn't drink any alcohol as a sober friend was with us. It felt like we were ignored afterwards & attention was diverted elsewhere. Montreal has so many great restaurants so I would recommend visitors to venture outside of the old port & find actually good food & respectable service!

Looked great from outside, popped in, sat by the window & ordered some food. The French Onion soup was mediocre & my Seafood Paella was a bit dry but tasted alright. The Soup was good but the Lasagne was very dry, almost or probably heated up in a microwave! The cocktails were amazing & tasted really good. The staff were very friendly & attentive. The decor was nice & the atmosphere was decent for the time of the day.

Everything about the place was good. The soup of the day was lovely. The beek cheeks were nice. Service was pleasant, even though they forgot about my glass of wine until the end. All in all; good.
